Our customer service team is working hard and responding to warranty claims as quickly as possible. Average response time is 7-10 business days but may be longer depending on the current number of claims.

Gerber is proud to offer a limited lifetime warranty in North America, and a 25 year limited warranty outside of North America. Gerber products are warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original consumer owns the product.
What is Covered:
Gerber warrants your product against defects in materials and workmanship when purchased directly from Gerber or a Gerber authorized reseller. This warranty is extended only to the original end-user purchaser or giftee and shall not be extended to any other person or transferee.
For purchase made in North America, the warranty is valid from the date of retail purchase for as long as the original end-user purchaser or giftee owns the product. For purchases made outside of North America, the warranty is valid for 25 years from the date of retail purchase (each the “Warranty Period”).
What is NOT Covered:
This warranty does not cover defects or damage arising from improper use or maintenance, normal wear and tear, sharpening, accident, environmental factors, improper storage, industrial or commercial use, or external causes. Unauthorized repair, modification or customization of your product voids this warranty. This warranty does not cover any parts, accessories, or consumables, including spare blades and replaceable attachments. This warranty does not cover products purchased from unauthorized resellers.
What Gerber will do:
In the case of a covered warranty defect, Gerber will, at its option: (A) repair the product using new or refurbished parts; (B) replace the product with an equivalent new or refurbished product; (C) substitute the product with a product of equal value; or (D) provide a partial or full refund of the original purchase price to you in exchange for return of the product.
How to Submit a Claim:
For warranty service on covered defects during the warranty period, please complete and submit the form located at: Gerber Warranty Claim.
For requests made outside of the US and Canada (limited warranty period), please send an email to [email protected].
Prior to providing warranty service, Gerber may require you to provide proof of purchase details, including, but not limited to, a receipt or sales invoice, product photos, and to ship the product back to Gerber’s facility at your cost. You must retain and not throw away or destroy the product or any parts of the product until your claim has been submitted, processed, and approved.
This limited warranty gives you specific rights that are in addition to other rights you may have under applicable laws, including your rights against the person who sold the Gerber product to you. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HOWEVER, THIS WARRANTY IS THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY PROVIDED BY GERBER. GERBER DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT), AND GERBER’S LIABILITY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE.

Do I need to send my defective item into the factory?
At this time, you do not need to send items into the factory unless told to do so. This will likely only happen in the case of a custom item, or when a repair is authorized.
My Gerber product was lost or stolen. Will you replace it?
No, stolen or lost products are not covered under warranty. Gerber's warranty covers material and manufacturing defects.
I live outside of North America, how do I submit a warranty claim?

Is my Customized item covered under warranty?
Yes, like all Gerber products, customized items are covered under the Gerber Guarantee.
What if the item I am hoping to replace is discontinued?
If the replacement item is discontinued, you will be given the option for a similar item as replacement or store credit to gerbergear.com.
The black finish on my blade is peeling or coming off. Is there anything I can do? Will Gerber Gear warranty the finish or refinish the product?
A black Teflon or black oxide coating is applied to specific knives for ornamental reasons. Continued rubbing on a sheath or pants pocket will cause the coating to wear through over time or contact with any metal objects will scratch the coating. Both are not considered Warranty defect.
My Gerber is sentimental to me. How can I keep the original?
While filling out the warranty form, be sure to mark the item as sentimental in order to retain the original. Gerber makes every effort to provide repair services whenever possible. However, technological advances may inhibit the ability to repair older products that have been out of production for an extended period of time. If your product cannot be repaired, it will be returned to you as is.
If you cannot repair my sentimental product, will I get another?
No. Your original product will be returned to you as is. If your product does not hold sentimentality at Gerber’s discretion a comparable replacement will be provided to you of equal value.
Are there items that Gerber can't ship to me?
Yes, there are some items that cannot be shipped. These items include: blades/saws, jaws & implements for our multi-tools, and axel screws.
What items can Gerber ship to me?
We can ship the following items: pocket clips & screws, handle screws, thumb studs, clip/buttons & springs for multi-tools.
