For a compact tool, the Pack Hatchet delivers an impressive amount of function. Exaggerated finger grooves in the handle allow for incredible edge control while choking up to handle detail work and precise cuts.
With a portable size and versatile shape, the Pack Hatchet appeals to a wide swath of outdoor enthusiasts: campers, hunters, hikers, survivalists, etc.
I took this to disassembling the Christmas tree. It made quick work of the green limbs and did not take long to chop the 3" diameter trunk in half. The edge looked great afterwards.
Found myself holding the handle with about 2-3 fingers, so the lanyard hole is a great addition and looks wide enough to fit a range of any desired cord.
But this sheath. Typical, China-made, Gerber sheath. The fabric extends too far from the seams and creates catch points for the tool. Difficult to get out quickly, or with one hand (just watch the video). Should provide ample protection in the sheath.
The tool is great, though. Can't wait to get more use out of it.
