Multi-Plier 600 - Needlenose Black w/ Carbide Insert Cutters, Berry-Compliant Sheath
We can think of about 600 reasons why this much-applauded multi-tool belongs on your belt. But don't worry, well just stick to the most important ones here. Like profound versatility, for example. And fail safe performance. And a level of rock-solid design and construction that pleases the eye and satisfies the soul.
It all begins with high quality stainless steel. Then we incorporated Gerber's patented one-handed opening pliers. Top that off with our patented replaceable tungsten carbide wire cutters. When the cutters become dull or misshapen simply rotate the tungsten carbide cutters 120-degrees, and you've got yourself a good-as-new wire cutter. After three rotations, the entire cutter can be replaced.
You'd be hard pressed to find a more rugged or more fearless multi-tool out there. But go ahead and look around a bit. See what you think. Then come on back to Gerber and pick the Multi-Plier 600 that truly suits your needs. We're building plenty.
- Patented one-hand opening Multi-plier
- Solid stainless steel construction
- 14 tools
- Includes Lifetime Limited Warranty
Absolutely love this tool even though things break on it when not used for intended purpose.ICarry it with me every day .My only complaint is I came on here to buy a new one and there no longer available
Just got this tool, as a replacement too my military issue, which I have carried for more than ten years. After my main blade broke, Gerber was quick and efficient in taking care of me, top notch customer service, and I look forward to having this tool as part of my gear. My issued MP600 is far from useless, even with a broken tip, but it's sentimental value will place it on the bench. I can only hope that these new pliers last half as long.
Great job Gerber, thanks for looking out for those of us who serve!
If I could I'd give It 10 Stars out of 5!!!! It's true: the serrated saw broke and the grinder too, however It's been with me every day and every where for the last 17 years and I still use It everyday. It's always on my belt, Always!!!!
I have used this product religiously for close to 10 years. It was initial issue from the military. Most recently the jaw (plier portion) broke on one side.
I called customer service to see if i could purchase a replacement part for this and guess what... THEY SENT IT FREE OF COST! Could not be any happier!
My father worked with the SEALS and said they use all kinds of Gerber as well as this tool they love it. I am an Eagle Scout could have used this tool.
I use mine in the Army Reserves and all the time in the civilian world. Lost it at the shooting range recently, and here I am buying it again.
I've had many gerber multi-Pliers for over the past 30 years. This 600 series with replaceable are the worst, cutters broke the first time being used, had to use my leatherman to finish the Job.
The saw blade snapped after light use and tbe carbide for one side has fallen out due to set screw.
Best Mothers Day gift from my awesome boys. I never leave home without it. It served 4 deployments (Kuwait, Iraq, Yemen, Dubai, Afghan...) its been over 20 different countries. The Best All in One function tool. I like the fact that its Stainless steel&lifetime warranty. Gave it as deployment gifts to all my shipmates/colleagues. They all loved it and preferred over the Leatherman (only 25 yr warranty)
Great tool, Lasts a long time
I had one of these in the desert and it got the crap beat out of it. I sent it in for repair and a couple of weeks later I received a brand new. I didn't expect it but they stood behind there product. We need more companies like Gerber in America.
Used original issue device everyday for 9 years while on active duty, and for another 12 out of service. Still going strong.
I'm hooked on reading reviews. Outside posts always seem to give Gerber a bad rap. I just sent my multi-plier 600 in for some needed repairs. No questions, no trying to work around the fine print. They did what they said they were going to. I will never buy from anybody else. Go gerber.
Bought this for my brother in the NZ army and he takes it everywhere. Loves it. I reckon the ring tool is to be able hang it up by a nail in your workshop
Need replacement carbide.
I have one, and, I absolutely love it!
However, the carbide eventually broke and looking in the industrial section of this website, I found replacement carbide, but it doesent specify if it's for my tool, and has an incredibly overall low rating.
I have had my tool for roughly 3 years and it has been used daily for the various tasks of an active duty combat arms soldier.
The File on it broke yesterday after years of misuse, but this tool has been great to me.
You will not be disappointed with the quality or durability of these tools. From dismounted duty, to strykers, and the vineyards of Afghanistan, it will serve you well.
If you mean the ring shaped accessory, that is for attaching a lanyard so as to not drop your tool.
I have a Gerber Berry-Compliant Military Multi-Plier 600 - Needlenose Black W/Carbide Insert Cutters. I sent Gerber a message regarding new Carbide Insert Cutters. I received a new set within a week at no charge. GERBER TAKES CARE OF CUSTOMERS!!!! THANK YOU GERBER & GOD BLESS!!!
The little ring tool, can be used as a place to tie some 550, or any other line that will fit, to the multitool, and use the multitool as a weight or anchor when trying to throw the 550 (line) over a limb to hang something. or something like that. Also the point on the end i believe, is an awl (spell check?) so you can scratch "engrave" something. And to use it to attach the tool to a pack.
For Pete: The "ring tool" is a wire stripper. I used mine a bunch when I used to be an I.T. guy running networks in the field. Unless you're leading a Signal unit, you probably wouldn't have a need for it... :-)
This was a very useful tool in both Afghan and Iraq when I deployed. Helped me get a lot of the small annoying tasks done with my soldiers and even proved its worth during combat when a weapon would malfunction. I have used every single component here to its fullest, except one: The ring tool. I have never used it but for 1 function and I never fully understood its function. I told my soldiers I did not have the slightest clue, but I use it as a small tool to hang it to my gear.
Does anyone know its true purpose?
Great multi tool, never failed any of the soldiers in my troop.
Broke the plyer working on a generator last week, only issue I had with it wish the plyer wasn't hardened, other than that great tool. Also the phillips tip in the deasle multi tool seems to be more flexible as far as scrue sizes.
i received this as a gift from my son who is active duty army. It 's a great knife around i use it daily and when i go fishing. The only problem is that the stitching at the velcro closure is coming apart and i had to staple it together. is there anyway i can get a replacement case?
I find this tool expertly put together. I got mine during my deployment and continue to use to it today as a firefighter. the carbide tips broke while we cutting a victim out of an entanglement but other than that the tool has done its job very well. thank u
Had on for over 8 years. Bought it when i joined the military. Best thing i ever bought. Lost it when i moved. Love to have another one!
Have carried an old-style 600 since forever (90s). It's easier on the hands than the exposed tools of a Leatherman. This tool has literally saved my ass more than once... in the sand and on the ranch. Managed to destroy it once and they replaced it. Broke the tip off a blade some years ago - Didn't have time to send it in for repair so I just reshaped and resharpened it, and it's still cutting. Have now worn out my 2nd sheath. The lining is tattered and the hole at the bottom is getting big. A new sheath should give me another 7-8 years.
As a photographer/computer geek /hard head who grew up in Fayetteville North Carolina,Home the 82nd Airborne, Green Beret and Special Forces in the 70's, this tool has been on my hip for the last 17 years. It is never failed me, and continues to prove it's point. Mine is so old that it still has patent pending on it. Love It
everything is real good quality except for one thing on this. the lanyard it is completely useless. its awkward if you were to use it and their is no other use for it. another more useful tool cold be in its place.
I love the Gerber tool, unfortunately in using it for my everyday jobs, I broke the wire cutter piece off, which for my job is needed, other than that the tool is SOLID and still working great!
i have had a pair of these for about ten years before they wore out. that's the best i have ever gotten out of a pain of these kind of pliers. i will never get another brand leather-man can not even compare.
The Cutters did break but to be perfectly honest i put them thru hell and then some the than that excellent quality
Combat arms, 3 deployments, same tool. Still strong.
Great everyday use tool....the only one worth being in my kit. Only the best will do for me.
Amazing tool, used it every day on my deployment and even after I have got home. Never had a problem with it yet. Its Solid!
I Received this tool from a marine who gave it to me at a yard sale because he said that scouting was a great program, and he'd receive another one on his next tour in 3 months. Needless to say this tool is amazing, i've use many leatherman and they don't compare, actually lost my tool in the snow over the winter and found it in the spring a little rusty, but fully functional.
Great tool, just wish you could ship to Australia again.
like most people I got mine issued to me when I deployed. I used it almost every where I could, it was very useful.
I haven't had any problem with it so far of using it 2 years
The tool to have whether in garrison or out in the field. Don't loose this baby
I bought one of your tools back in the late 90's or early 2000's. I have carried it nearly everyday since then. On and off duty. In the field and in the fire station. It is a great tool and I don't have the time or space to tell you how many uses I have found to use is. It has really held up well but for one thing. The sheath has a hole in the bottom and I have not been able to find a replacement for it. If you would tell me where I can purchase a replacement sheath I would be very grateful. I am worried that I will lose the tool through the hole. Thanks for your help,
"Kleenex" means tissue. "Xerox" means photocopy. Among Marine infantrymen, "Gerber" means multitool.
This tool is why.
I bought mine before my first deployment to Iraq and carried it everyday for the last 7 years.
Rugged and dependable.
Low profile design makes it easy to carry on a belt, on a vest, or in a pocket.
One-hand slide makes it easy to get open in a pinch.
Knives and cutters are razor-sharp right out of the box.
Tools are secured tight and can take repeated abuse.
Rust is this tool's nemesis. It would benefit tremendously from an anodized coating. If you use this anywhere it rains, snows, or gets a sea breeze clean it often. If you get this tool wet, clean it right away.
Cutters break too easily. And $20.00 to replace? A rip off
Love this tool does everything I need it to and more
I want one
was issued this on my way to "the stan" not really sure how i would have been sain without it, again the only draw back is the blade's edge but once sharpened it seems to hold it even after alot of use..... having been on multiple deployments plus just being an active duty soldier finding gear such as multi tools and knifes that last has been an on going battle but gerber seems to get it right thanks guys
I have been issued a Gerber multi tool on my deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and as much as I love having it and how useful it is, I have come to find that they are not very durable. Mainly the pliers jaws and the carbide cutters always break. Thank god there are plenty of people who leave them laying around.
The current Army Gerber multitool issued to troops getting deployed. Comes with ACU sheath with Molle Clip. Carried it in Iraq and was totally used by me and the Iraqi security forces who were with us. I figured it would be "borrowed" and not get "returned" at some point. But it managed to make it back to it's sheath clipped on my body armor. Cleaned it once in a while with WD40. Opens easily with one hand and it's very durable. Some prefer the Leatherman but I prefer this as it's free and it has all the right tools needed by soldiers. I carried mine with my issue Surefire Centurion C2 flashlight. And my trusty Gerber Shard. Thanks Gerber for steadfastly supporting the military. :)
Got issued this for Iraq and then again for Afghanistan. It is a MUST HAVE TOOL... very durable. One hand open is awesome.
The first time i saw a Gerber was in the movie Blowen Away. I was an Army Parachute Rigger and the Letherman was just too clumsey. I have had a Gerber by my side since the 1990's and would not have any other tool. Now im a Maintenance Tech and i can us
I quite like this gerber. The one hand opening especially helps, if one finds that rust is an issue just spare a little bit of oil from your weapon on it. Any 3 in 1 oil or CLP type oil will do for a non military user.
Another poorly manufactured tool from Gerber. The tool is loose and rickity. Rusts easily and is not nearly as smooth as a Leatherman.
