DMF stands for Dual Multi Function, perfectly fitting for this folding knife that springs into action ambidextrously. The robust design features a G-10 handle, beefy S30V tanto blade, and a striking pommel for emergencies, keeping you ever at the ready.
The manual opening DMF Folder brings the much sought after tactical innovations and technologies of the Automatic DMF to a large, ambidextrous-use knife. Textured G-10 handle gives the DMF Folder a sure grip and maintains a perfect weight balance.
Carried this knife with me on a deployment. Came in handy many times from cutting rope to opening MREs this knife did great. The only down side to this brand is that the steel isn't as strong as others. The blade will dull relatively quickly depending on how you use it. But other than that it's an awesome knife. Unfortunately I just misplaced mine so I'm buying a second one
This is my EDC Blade. has worn holes in pockets due to being carried all the time and materials its made of. wasn't as sharp as i was expecting straight out of the box but easy to maintain once one put on it. dissapointed in some of the small details like the finish on the blade and how some bolts sit flush while others dont. however excellent value for money and would be hard pressed to find as effective a replacement for the same money.
I bought this knife because I wanted to get a Blade that could fold and was rugged enough for combat.
this is just that.
Any other knife/steel feels inferior. Doesn't open fast enough, doesn't hold edge nearly as long, many, many other reasons.
I'm a civilian, I had to get a fishing license in order to carry an automatic Gerber 30-000379 , because I'm a contractor the knife comes in handy about 90 times a day, especially when we lay carpets, cuts through anything like knife through butter. but this knife... I bought six of them for me and my guys, didn't want to use my automatic $200 knife all the time and it's not exactly a waste of money, no, but the way these cheaper knives feel, the fact that the "made in USA" sign is missing, I don't know, it's just not the same, however silly that sounds since the two knives are completely different.
Unfortuneatly I think this knife is too hard to close with one hand and as such poses a major risk to cutting fingers. The FAST and other spring action gerber knives avoid that problem entirely.
This is a really tough knife, Iv owned 4 Gerbers in a 6 year span, however out of the 4 iv had issues with the clip bending out, or screws coming loose.
I purchased the Gerber dmf folder back in April and ever since I have had it I have been impressed it is very strong and durable for everyday use whether it be cutting boxes or wire it is very impressive a must own for knife enthusiast's everywhere!
I love this knife!! I didn't like the opening sliding button, it would get hung up and stick. I was thinking of returning it. After I opened it about a 100 times it was broken in and know it opens very easily. The blade is thick, and the clip point allows you to put the blade on your cutting surface, and keeps you hand up off of it. I use it to saw, pry, chisel, etc... I think it is perfect. I would much rather have had this as an issue knife rather than the Tanto 06 by far.
It's a heavy knife but it means well built. The blade comes out butter smooth. The serration is very sharp and useful. But I only give the DMF 4 stars because of a little blade play, however you will not feel it when you use the knife.
Super awesome knife other then issues with the clip pulling off and screws stripping out. But fixed it with some two part expoxy tough as nails now
Just saw this at the ADS show it is an awesome tool and i cannot wait to own one
Love this knife! my favorite out of the 37 I own and they aren't dirt knives either. Love the thickness of the blade and the s30v steel blade. Holds an edge perfectly and I have never had the blade slip closed on me. You've done it again Gerber and I'm definitely recommending this to anyone and everyone.
like it but the studs come lose in about a week
Good knife. HAD I KNOWN THIS KNIFE WAS NOT MADE IN THE USA I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT IT. I thought it was a given Gerber was made in USA next time I will check.
Excellent knife for the price. Usually legal in every state. Sturdy and feels good in the hand.
I just got my DMF a couple days ago and i must say that is a very great knife. it comes really sharp and it is very easy to use.
But gerber.. you should make these in the USA.
first impression is its really solid no blade play at all. the wedge lock is kinda tough to disengage but that can also be a good thing. opens a bit rough at first but two drops of gun oil in the lock and on the pivot point for the blade and it opens and closes super smooth. the pocket clip could be more of a deep pocket carry clip but it works no big deal. Not just a cool addition to my collection but a great carry knife. 5/5 great knife one of my favorites.
GREAT KNIFE! Just bought it and once i put my hands on it i knew it was quality! VERY TOUGH AND WELL BUILT! Nothing like one of thoes plastic wannabes. Top of the line!!!!
I like this knife and I'm thinking about buying it, and Gerber all your knives need to be made in the U.S.A.
looks like an awesome knife to buy for my dad
Like this knife it is awesome. The manual opening is pretty cool
great knife love the drop point --super strong and fast without all the legal hassales
i really want to get this blade it looks great and the handle looks really grippy. the serrations dont look overwhelming and i wouldnt mind it being manual opening
I got this knife yesterday and I love it the serrated edge is amazing the knife is great all around I highly endorse this knife!
Love this knife just kind of wish Gerber would hurry up and make a F.A.S.T. version of it because that would be awesome and then non military people could actually buy one.
Like this knife a lot woke week. For every thing
