If you're a fan of the classic folding hunter, you might as well step up to the caliber of the Magnum L.S.T. Jr. Its an unpretentious, get-er-done sort of field knife that lays low when you're stalking or still hunting, then stands tall when you're dressing out your buck or bull. Superior edge retention is mandatory with big game hunting. And the Magnum L.S.T. Jr delivers it in a 2 3/4" blade made of 420 high carbon stainless steel. But its still fairly easy to sharpen as needed. Choose from a fine edge in black or Mossy Oak Break-Up, or a serrated version in black. Pronounced finger grips in the fiberglass-reinforced thermoplastic handle work with crisp checkering to provide a high degree of tactile dexterity and long-term comfort. After all, sometimes those trophy critters can take a while to work up.

I started buying Gerbers in about 1985. I carried LSTs for years. When I found the LST Magnum Jr, I bought three, and have always carried one. I am down to my last Magnum Jr., and it is sitting like a collector's item because I can never replace it with a new one.
I have given Gerbers to mechanics and shop workers in Germany, Ireland, and Romania over the years. They may lose their wallet, but they always know where their Gerbers are. They knew the name when I gave the first guy one as a gift on 2003. To former Eastern Block workers, it is like getting a new favorite puppy. .
Please bring back the LST Magnum Jr., and MAKE IT IN THE USA.

Found this knife in the garage. It was my grandpa's (died 5 years ago) and he probably didn't use it for over a decade. I found it in near perfect condition with only some kind ok liquid rust that I don't even believe was from the knife. Without sharpening, it was my sharpest knife, and to this point, it still is.

I didn't realize these were no longer in production until just now. I was looking for a description of the locking mechanism to see if I could safely drill a hole for a small lanyard in some empty space. It is a shame they aren't even making these anymore. I've had mine for a while now and keep coming back to it, despite having "better" knives. It was the first knife I bought when I joined the military (pre 9/11) and it has served me well.

The knife is simple, tough, lightweight, takes an edge, slim enough for casual dress, and is just plainly and excellently suited for the VAST MAJORITY of tasks you actually do or will ever do with a knife.

This knife helps to expose the ugly truth of my human nature. It makes me feel gullible for buying advanced steels, the latest gadgety locketry, giving two craps about grind, and spending more money than I tithe on "better" knives. The MLSTJ also shows me how irrelevant many "improvements" actually are. I hate flicking knives open. I don't even like seeing or hearing other people do it. I have the exquisite, tactile luxury of opening this knife in a controlled manner, each time. Then I close it the same way. Beautiful.

Magnum LST Jr, I salute you. May you rest in peace/pieces, if you become unserviceable after I drill a 1/8" hole through your weathered handle. There will be no other knife like you.

Gerber has recently retreated from the classic. I have buck masters version of this knife, and it is a classic. A perfect EDC, made in the USA, and everything you need. Bring this knife back.

please. I can't stress enough how much I loved this knife. More than one has been stolen over the years. I know most folks want liner lock, and I'd be OK with that if everything else was the same. Please bring back this knife/blade+handle format.

This is the best knife that I have ever had the privlege of using for all-a-round use. From cleaning your fingernails to field dressing and quartering your kill. With a good edge, you can gut, skin, and quarter 3 deer before having to resharpen other than hitting it a couple times between deer on my ceramic pipe and it good to go again.
BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!! BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!!!

I wish they would bring this back. I had one forever and unfortunately it was in a pair of shorts I threw into a carry on suitcase at the last second and TSA now has it. I tried to get a replacement on ebay but was way outbid. Ended up with a LST 2.63 inch and it's terrible. Handle it thin and no grips for your fingers. PLEASE BRING THIS BACK

I've carried Gerber knives now for 20 years. I got my first before deploying to Desert Storm. Loved that knife, but left it on my truck box by accident and it fell off while I was driving. I replaced it with another that I gave to my wife after we were married and bought this one. I love this knife. It holds it's edge for a very long time. In the 8 years I've owned it I think I have had to sharpen it 3x and I really abuse my knives. When my son is more responsible and doesn't lose his cheap walmart knives I'll upgrade him to a Gerber as well.

I've carried one of these knives with me for about ten years now and it's never let me down. When I was younger I worked as a landscaper for 4 years and carried this knife everyday. I really abused it, cutting everything from roots and sod to wires and ropes, and it's still in near perfect condition. I love this knife.
