MEET GERBER
Inspired by a Santoku chef's knife, this tool has a modified sheepsfoot blade that is nimble enough for kitchen tasks yet strong enough for the campsite. The full tang construction gives added stability and the rubberized handle feels secure in hand.
Details:
The Freescape Camp Kitchen Knife, inspired by a Santoku chef’s knife, possesses a modified sheepsfoot point and flat belly for accurate food prep that travels to camp so well it could be considered a camp knife. In fact, it’s both. While this solid 6 ½ ounce knife, with its fine straight edge, excels at food-related tasks, the full tang construction of high grade steel ensures it will stand up to an impressive range of campsite duties beyond that of the camp kitchen, from cutting through twine or cord to feathering sticks.
SANITIZE IT FOR PEACE OF MIND
The Freescape Camp Kitchen Knife’s rubberized handle and steel blade do what a lot of camp knives don’t: après-camp, it can hit the showers, or in its case, the dishwasher. Its potential to be sterilized at high temperatures in a dishwasher makes the Freescape Camp Kitchen Knife all the more family-friendly for anything from at-home kitchen application to camping, day-camp picnicking, and hikes.
BRIGHT ACCENTS FOR QUICK VISUAL ID
Keep the super-grippy rubberized Freescape textured handle firmly in the hand no matter the conditions. With bright green accents along the black rubber surface, it draws just the right amount of attention to itself so as not to get lost in the shuffle of camp gear. A durable sheath keeps the knife safe and near at hand on a belt loop or in a gear bag, and a convenient lanyard hole offers additional insurance for safe transport.
I do a lot of field work with the military and this knife is great. It's sturdy, holds an edge and feels great in the hand. The military I train love the knife too! I to hope that they look at getting back into the professional kitchen knife game!
Love the knife , blade shape, length and the handle all get a 5 stars. Sharp as a razor .
My only complaint was the left handed sheath....I want to belt carry it at the camp (I'm the camp cook) but I'm right handed and the included sheath can't used on the right side.
The knife is a 10 , If I can get a right handed sheath I'll be a happy camper.

I haven't been able to use this knife my self. But the chef that trained me has one. He said every kitchen should have one of Gerber's kitchen knife and any cook should wish to own one as well...... I am a cook now wishing i could own one and this one with the bright green is my favorite.
I do not intend to carve with it at all or to wear it on a belt I think it is a great kitchen knife to have at times when camping.
A long time ago Gerber made a REAL chef's knife that was rated the best by Consumer Reports. I bought one,and it is the best knife I own. Now for some reason, they no longer make it,or any kitchen knives. Damn shame...guess you can buy Ginsu now!
The knife is great. Well balanced and comfortable to use. The sheath however is another story. It needs a sturdy strap and stainless steel strap for one handed accessibility on the belt. The flimsy tape with hook and loop is cumbersome and awkward. This is my second review and I expect it to be lost as well.
I really like the knife. The grip and balance are great. My problem is the sheath. the keeper is cheap tape and velcro. This is a problem when securing it one handed on a belt. A simple stainless steel snap would be much more useful.
This knife is great!!! I use it at home and in the field. It is great to work with!!! I Would recommend this knife to anyone who likes to cook!!!
