Gerber is dedicated to developing life-saving, mission-essential gear for those who serve.
We can think of about 600 reasons why this much-applauded multi-tool belongs on your belt. But don't worry, well just stick to the most important ones here. Like profound versatility, for example. And fail safe performance. And a level of rock-solid design and construction that pleases the eye and satisfies the soul.
It all begins with high quality stainless steel. Then we incorporated Gerber's patented one-handed opening pliers. Top that off with our patented replaceable tungsten carbide wire cutters. When the cutters become dull or misshapen simply rotate the tungsten carbide cutters 120-degrees, and you've got yourself a good-as-new wire cutter. After three rotations, the entire cutter can be replaced.
You'd be hard pressed to find a more rugged or more fearless multi-tool out there. But go ahead and look around a bit. See what you think. Then come on back to Gerber and pick the Multi-Plier 600 that truly suits your needs. We're building plenty.
Multi-Plier 600 - Pro Scout Needlenose Stainless, w/ Tool Kit, Sheath
One-Hand Opening Multi-Tool
$83
I have been carrying a pair of multi-plier 600 blunt nose pliers every day since 1995 (not the same pair) after an 8 day elk hunting trip in the Rockies when I borrowed a pair from my buddy everyday of the trip.I WORK outdoors on Wind turbines, farming, ranching and there is not a day that goes by that I don't use my Gerbers for something, I would be lost without them. I have always loved the quality of build and one hand operation. BUT, I have a very big problem with the wire cutters that I wish Gerber would fix. The original pliers did not have the replaceable cutters and I loved them, the new carbide cutters are JUNK and I am now embarrassed to loan them to my buddies. PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM this comes from a very loyal customer of nearly 25 years!!! P.S. please bring back the scissors for the 600s.
Love it, well built easy to use. Tought and looks great. Awesome price cant wait to have it on the fire lines
Just got it today, and im very excited looks awesome. Fast shipping and excelent price, can't wait to have it at the fire line. Thanks gerber for the exclusive deals and impeccable tools yall provide, excellent quality!
Bought the old stainless multi tool in 1988. It has been my closest ally through 4 hurricanes,2 ships,an earthquake as well as everyday crap since. In a number of situations it was the only tool on the job. It got the job done! Iv’e worn out 3 pouches in this time. After looking at the new ones I don’t like the straight knife blade as you can’t skin a carcas with a straight blade very well, puts too many holes in the hide.
I was issued one of these tools when I joined my Battalion in 2008. I carried it every single day, through two combat tours in Afghanistan and back home again. As much abuse as it took then, I was still able to bring it back home and still carry it every day. I work every day on a farm and use this tool more today than I did in the Navy. I have had to replace the cutter twice now, but other than that, I don't know how I would function without this thing. I bought an extra one while I was in the military, and another when I got home, just to have. Whether it is in the military or on the farm, I give this thing a 10 of 10.
USA Navy Torpedoman 1975 - 1991, wounded D-Storm 1-22-91 working at a land base on air dropped torpedoes. Excellent tool, have had mine sine early 1980's. I give it a 4 star because my wire cutter is all chipped and if I send it in, I get the new NO CUT replaceable bit one, so I'll just keep mine. My Gerber Tool has helped me take apart and service torpedoes from 7 countries and in all environments. Sure, some parts are worn or chipped, but you still would not me without it. One side says Tool, Pliers,, Multi Use and the NSN and the other side says US NAVY SSBN 608 Ethan Allen Torpedo Shop 1 (Polaris Sub I was on). I guess I'll just have to buy a new one so I can keep this one intact. Just for the record, it saddens me that Gerber hooked up with Bear Grillass, he cheapened up a good product line.
Was issued one and found one in the hesco wall. Still have them both and always on hand. Yes, the wire cutters suck. But its for the last resort cut. Cause you only get one chance at it lol. I've had them both well over 6-7 yrs now and its the best tax bought thing I got from the military. Most active and vets I know still rock it and say the same about it. Try and get your hands on one and you won't be to disappointed. BTW GERBER, FIX THE DAMN WIRE CUTTERS ON THIS THING!!! great multi tool though.
Don't like the replaceable cutters- always breaking, coming loose,. I use this knife ALOT so when I go to change the cutter insets the little screw head is peened over so the "wrench" won't go in the hole.
Got mine in 1986 or thare abouts on board USS Enterprise cvn 65 at that time. its a good tool but if you over do it with the pliers it may bite. I have had a couple blood blisters on the web of the thumb.but still better with it than without.Retired 17 years now its still at arms reach at all times.
Been through a dozen of these. Miss the old wire cutters. That new "replaceable" wire cutting thing sucks! Broke the old one, sent it in for warranty and when it came back it had that retarded tungsten rotating "one cut and your done" thing on it! Have at least three different ones for different reasons. Wouldn't be without one. Wore one to several foreign places, heck, even two different weddings of my own. Might give up my gal, won't give up my Gerber. Bear Who? stay away from my Gerber Brit...
This is the best multi-tool I have ever had. Used at home and down range. This tool has never failed to perform. I have looked at and used other brands (SOG, Leatherman, etc.) and they just do not compare to the quality and price of a Gerber. This tool just feels right in your hand. Not to mention the one handed opening/closing and the Saf.T.Plus locking system are great features. Gerber fan for life. I am going to order a few of these as Christmas presents this year.
Goes everywhere and does everything. Very stout. The pliers can grip very well and can take a lot of pressure comfortably. My only problem is the wire cutters. Although they do work very well, the first time I tried to rotate them for a fresh cutting surface, the entire "tungsten carbide" insert snapped in half with very little force.
My wife and I both have the 600and are never with out them.I've had mine repaired twice having broken blades acually abusing it ,and had repairs done in a timely manner. That only problem was I was without my favorite tool!
They say everyone remembers there first girl, amongst her I remember my first Gerber. I sill have it to this day after years of abuse (the earlier model of shown tool) and use it almost daily. Its one of a kind single handed slide is ingenious and absolutely useful for quick engagement. Not to mention the strength, its been through hell on a summer day and back and still operates like the day i got it. Only draw back i had was that its slightly bulky in the pocket, and unfortunatley the person i bought it from did not have the sheath for it. If you were considering buying a Leatherman or the Gerber, its a no brainer, Gerber always. Cant wait to get a new one, and be able to gift my old one to a future Gerber fan.
Looking at purchasing a new Gerber multi-plier. I had mine issued to me while still serving back in 1996. This tool has definitely had better days. I have had it on my side ever since and will keep it there until I receive my new Gerber.
I was issued these several years ago and they have been on my belt ever since. We've gone into combat twice and I've completely disassembled, repaired, and reassembled entire weapon systems with just this tool. I absolutely love the strength of the tool and have tested every aspect of it beyond what it probably should be able to take and you'd be hard pressed to tell it was several years old. The sheath is also in perfect condition and it has been beaten and bruised quite often in the desert and in the US. I've had my fair share of multi-tools and I would not buy anything other than this unless it was the needlenose version.
