MEET GERBER
Hikers prefer compact, lightweight, and highly functional tools. The Vertebrae Fixed Blade is ideally sized for such requirements. It is as rugged as any full size knife with a full tang 7Cr17MoV blade, rubberized grip, and glass-filled nylon sheath. Yet measuring at only 6.4 inches long, it is compact enough to squeeze into a backpack and go.

The smaller sibling to the larger Spine, the Vertebrae is intentionally-sized for hikers and climbers who want to ensure that any added weight is worth it. The blade is ideal for quick tasks on-the-go and is easy to stow on the lumbar strap of a backpack.
Love the knife, hate the clip.
The knife is indeed compact and very sturdy. I love the solid feel. The sheath is also pretty good. It feels snug and has a moderate pressure thumb release.
The downfall of this knife is actually the clip. It’s so weak I don’t feel comfortable attaching it to literally anything and trusting that it will still be there after a day or two. It’s very easy to slide off of whatever it’s currently attached to, the metal composition of the clip is pliable and weak (think about the strength of a money clip vs the spring tension of a medium sized potato chip bag clip, the latter being almost exactly what this clip feels like).
Anyways I’m gonna have to return it because I don’t want to take the time to fashion my own secure clip.
Excellent knife though.
