An update to the classic everyday carry pocket knife: the SharkBelly. This smartly designed knife offers lightweight utility, proudly made in the USA. The SharkSkin Grip™ succeeds in function and aesthetics with unidirectional scales that provide additional traction when in hand. The 420HC sheepsfoot blade is easily deployed with a sizable thumb hole, revealing a full fine edge blade that is practical and effective for daily use.
I got this knife right after I got married and used it to break down every single box and open every letter. It's a great blade shape for utility tasks and is easy to resharpen. I also use it to cut vegetables around the garden and for DIY home projects. The handle is comfortable and the entire package is very light. It just needs a left-hand pocket clip!
I just bought this knife, and for the price it's definitely not bad. It's not amazing. The plastic feels cheap, the jimping on the back of the knife doesn't really feel like it will to help hold on to the knife it feels like an afterthought, and the grind on the blade is as uneven as I've ever seen. For $20 it's not bad, but that's all I can really say.
I admit to enjoying a high level of craftsmanship that only a far more expensive knife can possess. At the same time, I also have great respect for a sound concept that's well executed. It's great to see that Gerber does, too. The Sharkbelly is light, easy to handle and very practical. I have knives with assisted opening but that's not something that belongs in a knife like this. The blade is sharp out of the box and the pocket clip is perfection. No need to improve this design, just keep on building it! Well done, Gerber...and thanks for making this in the USA. Wait. I forgot something: I love folding knives with lanyard holes. So glad to find one at this price point!
Picked up for $13 so bare that in mind. 1) very light 2) Made in USA 3) Sharp out of the box.
I like the blade shape and the fact that it is very light. I can open and close with one hand but it could be easier.
Excellent knife for daily use. Lightweight, comfortable grip, sharp blade, solid materials and workmanship.
An ingenious knife, made on the opposite end of my country, Oregon, USA.
I need to tip my hat to Gerber for introducing this incredibly versatile knife.
High quality, extremely affordable, unbelievably light weight, and brandishing the innovative Wharncliffe blade. Personally, I could not be happier.
As an avid pocket knife enthusiast – the kind of person who can never have too many – I have settled on this knife as my every day carry (EDC) unit. To date, it is the simplest, most clever, and just plain enjoyable design I have come across in over 30 years.
While no pocket knife is the best for everything, but this one is best for most everything. It now replaces several other models that I have carried for years – all of which were great in one respect or another, but never as good as this one for just about everything. It is the knife you would choose to be stranded on an island with. I would have named it The Jack of all Trades.
It sounds great, it feels great, it works great. It is what I want on me at all times. It says I am proudly made by exceptionally skilled workers in the United States of America.
Great job, Gerber!
