MEET GERBER
This pocket knife is built for utility with a cleaver blade in a folding application. The FlatIron pocket folder features a robust 3.6 inch blade, a textured G-10 composite handle, and a sturdy frame lock design. The reverse curvature of the knife’s spine keeps knuckles away from the cutting surface, allowing the user to cut and chop with precision.

As an everyday carry knife, the FlatIron meets the demands of the day and looks sharp doing it. The dependable blade shape is easy to operate with one hand and simple to stow when not in use.
Nice design, brand new out of the box it is the dullest knife I have ever purchased! What a waste of $40.00
A nice design, well built, but poor material. The blade is absolutely useless because of the cheap steel. I want to like it, but the steel is so bad that its useless to carry. Impossible to break through a tomato skin, despite constant resharpening
Great design that feels good in the hand. Surprisingly versatile blade given the cleaver design. The cheap steel that for the life of me I can't find any articles about lets this otherwise great knife down.
Just got this knife, good look, good feel. Love the knife just a little disappointed it says made in china
A nice utility knife for work around the house and yard. The blade comes wicked sharp out of the box, opens nicely and fits great in the hand. While I'm partial to drop points, the cleaver shape is good for utility tasks like opening boxes, slicing things out of my garden and some wood working. Only a few things I would change. 1. Make it leftie-friendly (!) and maybe thicker blade stock towards the edge. The steel is pretty easy to resharpen, takes a good edge and the shape is pretty easy to work with when it comes to maintenance.
Is a cool knife but I feel deceived or mislead in my purchase, and the design could have been much better executed.
Pros: fair quality materials, nice hardware, nice G10 plastic piece, good blade design and shape, feels nice in the hand and is a good size to still remain a pocket knife.
Cons: only one side of the handle is G10 plastic, other side is bare exposed metal making it look like it is incomplete, the factory edge is a bit dull but can be honed, lack of thumb stud makes single handed operation uncomfortable and doesnt feel the safest, pocket clip is wide and short and does not run parallel to the spine of the closed blade causing the knife to ride very awkward and uncomfortable in the right pocket unless you have a large very squared off jean pocket and the pocket clip is too short and small to alternatively ride on a belt, it almost seems like it was designed to be carried left handed but operated right handed, no jimping on the spine even though there is a choil designed for choking up on the blade, and Torx hardware should really be plain allens.
I feel like Gerber could make high end products, but, using there entry level items as a sign of their design and engineering processes mixed with misleading sales displays showing a very pretty G10 handled pocket knife, I will never invest higher quality money in Gerber name products for fear of lack of design, qaulity, materials, etc... I dont feel I'm getting what I paid for.
I love all my Gerbers... I've been collecting them for 10 years... they stay sharp when I'm hard on them... This blade has held up to the Gerber name
really wanted to love this knife, it's pretty good when it's open, but can't open it one handed and really not easy to close. The cleaver is an interesting design, but definitely not something for every day.
Cool knife, being a butcher and a chef I liked the design of a pocket knife that I could use day to day! This is one of my favorite pocket knives. Sturdy and the perfect shape for pulling it out and chopping veg and meat. I think if your a camping or all around outdoors enthusiasts this is a great knife for you!!
Definitely a must have!
I love the cleaver style of the Flatiron. Its a perfect, portable knife for me when I'm at camp because I always find myself doing all the cooking. Durable as well
Cool knife that basically is a pocket meat cleaver. Whenever I show my buddies they all want it. Blade was decently sharp right out the box. Pocket clip is tight so keeps the knife in place as it does have some weight to it. Carry it whenever I'm out and about just in case I need to cut up my dinner or someone has some cheesecake.
Love this knife, I keep one with my mobile kitchen, and carry one daily for opening boxes at the office. This is a must have for any knife lover.
This knife is a great addition to my knife collection. Not only does it look like a classic strait razor, the handle and blade are solid with a very sturdy locking mechanism. Ots definitely going to be a goto for my every day carry.
This thing is like a mobile meat-cleaver. It feels strong in the hand, has enough heft for difficult tasks and I love how the blunt end is friendly to all of my camping equipment!
Sturdy yet sexy. Unique yet steadfast. A true show off yet concealable. A piece of art while maintaining undeniable utility. Looking to take your manhood to the next level? This bad boy will do just that and more.

For the life of me I can’t see how this knife is getting such low reviews. I’ve been rocking it as my edc since it’s release now and I’ve been having a hard time even considering switching it out with a different knife. I’m loving the clever blade and the pocket clip keeps it in place so well it’s probably the first knife I’ve had that I haven’t even worried that it would fall out. I also don’t have a hard time opening it one handed in either hand like others have complained about.
So in conclusion if you are a male that always carries a knife with you as a handy tool/defense item than start acting like the man you’re trying to make people think you are and stop complaining.
Are there better knives out there? Of course
Are there worse knives out there? Absolutely
But of all the knives out there not many of them dominate their price range like this knife does.
Out of the box, very sharp! First time I used it was was in the field to skin and quarter a deer. Nice clean cuts and kepts its edge. Been months now and still holding strong. Solid.

Love the look and the feel of the handle. For an everyday carry it gets the jerb done every time thanks!
This knife is a super unique design and everyone that sees it wants to hold it. I constantly have people asking me to see my knife! It replaced a much more expensive knife that was in my pocket and I love it!
This would be a 5 star knife if it held an edge better. I opened it out of its cardboard box, looked it over and realized it had a good edge from the factory. I used it to cut through the plastic packaging on another Gerber and the plastic left a very noticeable notch in the blade. I sharpened it out but have had it a few weeks now and it rolls an edge with average daily use. I'd pay double for the same knife with a better blade.
I make hiking sticks as a hobby and I love it for removing the bark from saplings. The back of the knife I use for removing the carbon after I char the sticks. I wish the pocket clip was a little longer but it's my go to work knife.
Best folder I have purchased to date, and I have had a few. There is a break in period with this folder so do not be alarmed. The blade is awesome and is useful for a variety of cutting jobs. Let’s face it, this folder is good looking and fairly intimidating. I am sharpening mine to a reflective finish on the cutting edge. Going to hone with a 12,000 stone and then leather strip it up fine.
As close to perfect as I've ever owned. Definitely my favorite knife in terms of looks. The back is thick and solid and the weight does most of the work when it comes to slicing. The blade is short enough to carry legally (3.5") but the handle (4.5") and the choil are large enough to give a good grip.
I'd call this my ideal knife if it had a flipper. If they ever make a version like that, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Love the cleaver style blade not many of those out there love G10 handles I was super excite to get this knive sadly mine is way too stiff out of the box thumb can’t open or close it 1 handed I’m 5 10 260 so I don’t think strength is the problem I would love to see this blade with G10 both sides thumb stud and liner lock instead of current configuration I’m still gonna carry it hopefully it will loosen up a bit
This is hands down the manliest knife I’ve ever owned. It’s build like a brick sh*t house and looks savage. Razor sharp. I will never carry anything else than Gerber and this knife is the reason why. Wow, just wow!!!
Steak, beards, carving, everything. This knife carries a razor sharp edge.
Im not one for thumb hole opens, but this is large enough and easy to open, however will not come open in a pocket.
Its an eye catcher and my new everyday carry.
The pocket clip was super stuff at first but then worked/lifted it slightly with a butter knife and now it works perfect.
