The idea is simple: always be prepared. The Dime is a mini multi-tool with an impressive list of features, ensuring you are ready for anything. This butterfly open tool fits on your keychain yet has 12 useful tools. Available in multiple colors and a bladeless version as well.
We took the standard keychain multi-tool and made it better. In addition to stainless steel pliers, wire cutters, a fine edge blade, spring-loaded scissors, flathead screwdriver, crosshead driver, tweezers and file, the Dime includes a unique blade designed to safely cut and score plastic packaging and a bottle opener that is exposed even when the tool is closed. Compact and lightweight, the Dime is the most valuable change you’ll find in your pocket.
I bought this along with the Paralite knife in Rose from my local Sportsmans Warehouse. Using the Dime to loosen a 3/16 nut on a battery terminal resulted in a failure of the pliers as the one handle collapsed onto the other. I was applying significant pressure to the unit at the time. Examination found a bent "spring" that loads behind a detent in the plier so that the plier, when open with the spring against the detent, becomes a plier. Disassembly of the unit was non trivial as a small pin that is swaged into a laminated subassembly must be driven out in order to remove the "spring". I am putting quotes around the word "spring" for a reason. There are two of these, one for each handle and plier jaw and they are nearly dead soft metallurgicaly. What this means to the "avid" plier user is that great pressure will easily destroy this. Gerber could and should toughen these up a bit. Be warned. It can be fixed but is a bit of a chore. I am sure Gerber would have replaced it but I do not consider my abuse a warranty issue. I gave this a five star review because this a wonderfully versatile tool, which used with only moderate abuse, should last a very long time.
I really like this multi-tool, compared to any others I've owned this one is versatile, the retail opener is quite useful. My only complain is that you need to be completely aware of how you close the pliers. The first time I did it, the skin between my forefinger and thumb got caught and well it hurt a lot.
Something that got me by surprise is that the scissors work for left-handed people, I don't know if it was intentional or not but I trully apreciate it.
I bought the Gerber Dime because it was small and had all the stuff that I wanted, great to carry around on my key ring or take camping. The first time I went to use the pliers it broke in two, a small 1/8th inch nut was tougher than this plier! So I took it back and got another, the same thing happened again! The metallurgy is very poor, this time the store I bought from no longer carried it so to get it warrantied I had to send in which meant I had to pay for shipping, I decided it wasn't worth the cost of shipping! for what? to get another one that will break? no thanks.
Had this for about a year, super happy with it.
I carry it with me every day in the lighter pocket of jeans.
Box / vinyl cutter is really useful day to day - never had one before.
Used the pliers, file, tweezers and scissors pretty frequently - works well for something small enough to have with you all the time
I wanted a multi tool that would fit on my key chain without being real balky, so when I saw this it was just what I was looking for. Except the build quality is very bad. The first one I had the pliers snapped in two, I think the metallurgy was flawed, I took it back to Menards and they gave me another. The new one lasted longer, but I found out the pliers aren't really strong enough to do anything so that disappointed me. But then something happened to the pliers, not sure what, but it no longer locks in place at the hinge on one side. I've bought other Gerber products and never had this poor of quality, so now I get to test out the warranty department and see how they respond to this situation.
Outstanding product. My son gave it to me on Father's day. Very happy. I had nothing that compares to it. Don't know if it will make in thru the pre-flight checks -- won't take the chance.
It’s what I wanted, but next time, instead of a near useless package opener, use that slot for a can opener.
I really wanted to love it, but just a poorly made product. As noted above, the painted file does nothing. On the plus, the box cutter works awesome. However, the build quality killed it for me. The knife blade pushed over and bent the stop when trimming some paper; making the blade useless. The final straw is one of the hold down screws sheared at some point, so now the left side is coming apart. BL, don't waste your money.
I want to like this multi-tool, the form factor is there, the tools are all good choices but they lack quality.
My first issue is with the scissors, they are sturdy but can barely cut thin paper. the file is too short and the black coating, as good as it looks, makes it dull. the unpainted version may solve this issue. Knife came a little dull, but sharp enough and can be sharpened.
Though tools do not lock in place, they are solid. Knife shape is super strong. tweezers are very precise. THE PLIERS ARE FANTASTIC! they are precise, strong, and spring loaded. the wire cutters are plenty strong enough for small jobs. key ring is a nice addition. The box opener is clever and useful bottle opener is a good design, though a bit large. The flat driver is an excellent pry bar.
If you can get past the awful scissors and short file, it is a great little EDC tool. For me the scissors was a huge point and these shortcoming were enough to make me go back to something else. I may try and modify this in the future to correct the problems.
A great little tool but far from robust enough. The scissors are well below Gerber standard in fact basically useless.
I saw a video on utube and it said it was one of the models that the Navy Seal Team 6 uses in their small pocket size survival kits
If it's good enough for the Seal Teams, then it's good enough for me
Yes it is small, but it fits into a small container
And it only cost less than $14 at Amazon
I felt like the small key ring was unnecessary
It fits in your pocket and is not heavy
and you have plenty of tools
Not a bad deal for the price
I would recommend it
Well let's just say not real impressed with the new multi-tool ( Dime ) I had the Clutch for a few years and loved it until it no longer closed properly. Wish there was some kind of repair warranty but no such luck. Today I purchased the Dime and have only just removed from packaging. Can already tell you just by the feel I regret the purchase, a far cry from the Clutch.
I have had this tool since last summer and I use it all the time. I never leave the house without it. I mostly use the box opener and tweezers. I have had absolutely no problems with it. I got the black one and the paint is still on it despite me dropping it a couple of times. All around its a great little tool.
The siccors broke within the first month after cutting paper. The screwdriver broke and the file is to small. Buy a leatherman multi-tool
I've used the Gerber Dime for several months now. It is a huge upgrade from my mini Victorinox I used to keep on my keychain. The best feature is the retail package opener (awesome). The only thing I would like to change is to have a longer file so that it would function better as a finger nail file (but that is my personal preference).
This is a great product. I had it for almost 3 weeks and had no problems with it. I strongly recommend this.
I was looking for a lightweight multi tool for hiking.
The Dime seemed to be exactly what I was looking for @ 2 oz having a cutting blade, scissors, pliers, tweezers and a few other basic tools.
The Dime has failed me in every way except being lightweight..
The knife is dull, when sharpened it loses its edge quickly.
The scissors failed to cut mole skin or duct tape.
The rod that stops the pliers from folding backwards failed while trying to straighten a bent aluminum tent stake.
The tweezers do not have a parallel grind, rendering them useless.
Even if it only cost a dime, I wouldn't buy another Dime.
Buy a Leatherman Squirt PS4 instead.
Same weight, better everything.
I like the general idea of the tool and have used it a few time with success. However, the files seem like a "concept" that never really saw the true light of day. The scoring or knurling of the cutting surfaces appears to be negated by the coating-there is just no "bite" to the cutting surface and they are rendered useless. Will I return it? only if I can know that the surfaces have been reviewed and fabricated correctly
The package opener broke...while I was opening a package. Also the file will not close flush, has about 0.25 in sticking out.
I am on my 3rd Dime the first one was great used it for multiple thing even cut a coat hanger for a project. Then I lost it, so I got my 2nd one expecting the same quality and strength but unfortunately it was not even close. With in a couple months the springs broke in it so the pliers where useless. I contacted Gerber they replaced it no charge which was great, however the replacement is worse than the one I sent back. none of the cutting tools will hold an edge. Consequently I will never buy nor recommend Gerber. Seems they've decided quality really isn't that important.
Don't buy this unless it's for a child to introduce them to multi tools.
I bought this just to keep in my car for little duties. The first time I go to use the pliers for a super easy moderate task..poor. The support for one side of the pliers instantly bent out, the pliers went numb, and I cut my hand due to the momentum.
So, I filed a claim and assumed I had a defective unit. Shipping was near $5 to send it back to Gerber. They sent me a replacement...
My first use of them was within two hours after receiving them to secure a 18-20ga crimp connector in my car. Nothing major...and the same thing happened! I just called Gerber and the guy wasn't a help at all. Basically I file a claim again, pay $5 for shipping again, and Gerber will give me account credit and he "recommended" I upgrade to a stronger multi tool. He also said there may be defective units out there.
That would be $35 I've spent on the dime. To be shipped another one and have it do the same thing, that will be $40!!! I asked him if there's any way they could upgrade me for free because of this hassle and he said they don't do that. Then I asked for a prepaid shipping label...they don't do that. I'm pretty upset. I've used Gerber products exclusively for at least 10 years. I'm contacting the CEO. This shouldn't be happenening, and if it does happen, there should be a mechanism in place to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
I really liked my dime until the pliers snapped on them. They didn't take much force to break at all. I expected more from Gerber than this flimsy piece of engineering.
On my second use of the Dime, the handles gave in, forcing the pliers to remain open, and forcing me to warranty the Dime. I used the Dime just to crimp a 16ga wire connection, I'm hoping it's just a defect, because I really like the size of the dime. My only other complaint is the bottle opener. I don't drink, but beside that it can get in the way of using the Dime. Hoping I won't have to seek fully returning the replacement.
I am on my 3rd Black Dime. I carry and use it daily. My only complaint is the retail package opener opens past it's designed stop i.e. instead of stopping in line with the body like the knife blade (180 degrees), the package opener actually goes past the stop to an approximate 200 degrees. The opener then becomes difficult to use. Great idea and concept. Just needs to be beefed up.
Went to cut some fishing line with the 'wire cutters' but that was met with failure, the knife became the primary choice. After that I went to crimp some split shot onto the fishing line, not with much force mind you and the one handle over rotated rendering the pliers useless. Enough said.
Very happy with the tool until the main cutting blade over extends and does not have its usual "springiness". It is about 1 year old and is not my daily carry! I am in the process of sending it in for warranty work.
Other than that it is a GREAT tool.
Good for the key chain. Knife is a good slicer with a nice belly. Screw drivers are functional. I really like the spring on the pliers. However, the file is crap. It's first, too small to be really useful, and second, it barely works. It might be due to the black coating clogging up the groves. I'll probably have to take a Dremel to it to remove the coating. Coating is already wearing off - wish I got the one without it. Plies are not the strongest, but are probably sufficient for this type of tool. It's lightweight for lightweight tasks. Prefer my Gerber Crucial, but this is a nice backup.
Fantastic looking and even greater when it comes to practicality and usefulness.... the quality of the multi tool is obvious to anyone holding one in their hand or opening it up; The hefty weight and the strong spring assist of the pliers are both good signs of high quality. I havent put it down yet, lol, I am still admiring and playing with it
Anyways the updated it an the pliers are spectacular and with the perfect minimalistic size the are extremely accurate. Plus there are basically two extra tools in the pliers mouth where there is an unclosed serrated bar stretch as well as an unclosed oval stretch with a larger size serration fit to it.
Also there is an added miniature hook knife and the design of the regular knife is no so regular, it's incredibly sharp like a mini chefs blade. It is like a little razor blade but it is not so thin and weak. It is durable. Slick design and a fantastic 'key chain' multi-tool.
It will not keal...this tool is a good idea, a small pocket tool that you can throw in your pocket and forget about it until you need it but when you do need it don't expect to do much with the pliers, it WILL break, i am sending in my 3rd one for warranty service due to the pliers breaking, why do i torture myself and keep sending it in? because as i stated it is a nice tool but the pliers could have been made of a stronger material.
I´m a Beer Bartener and a i open a lot of beer all night and the bottle opener it´s onw of the best tool for me.
THe knife need to be sharp a little more out of the box and the wire cutter too. Overall it´s a cool and useful EDC multitool.
I love this handy little tool, however i have to agree with one of the comments listed about it being fragile.
The plyers busted with the slightest pressure applied.
I would appriciate getting a new one without having to fill out a complicated to use form in order to get a replacement
firstname.lastname@example.org or 919 539 5967
have this Multitool as a small gift from a friend broke the main spring as i was using the pliers to pull out a nail from a board.
I have carried a pocket tool for many years and I wanted to replaced mine so I bought the Dime. Unfortunately the handles collapsed the first time I used them. Don't waste your money.
Excellent tool as long as you keep your expectations in check. This is a light duty tool that can do some medium duty work in a pinch if you are careful.
Knife is sharp out of the box, package opener works great and doubles as an orange peeler, other tools work fine for light work. This is an essential addition to my keychain.
i wished for a small and light multi-tool. be careful what you wish for. the dime was too light. the scissor handle broke off after only a few uses.
Second one that I've had break mid task...first one while undoing a nut, and second one just cutting ordinary paracord. Not with extraordinary pressure being applied either. To add to the aggravation, warranty service requires a form be filled on, printed out, and then sent in with the tool...and since it is in flash, my devices won't always let me fill it out!
My Mother in Law was chuckling as I repaired the lock on her utility room door, "You're the only woman I know who carries around a screwdriver." Well, yeah.
I love my dime. It is small enough to carry around all the time to be prepared for little jobs. I stress little jobs because it is quite obvious that this is not the tool for bear fighting, jet engine repair or fortification construction. It is perfect for opening packages, tightening screws and generally looking like a badass (while tightening screws, opening packages, etc.)
The scissors are virtually useless and a can opener replacement seems like a good upgrade.
Purchased from Amazon. After having this product all of 3 days and used exactly once it failed. I really wanted to love this product. The size and wieght are really nice but you sober up might quick when your love tries to blind you. Under minimal pressure pinching a locking mechanism of a old pocket knife a piece of pliers expediently came for my face. Should I have been holding the tool above me when trying to line something up.. probably not. Should the tool have snapped under such minimal force... no.
The plier jaw broke off while tring to pry open a coat hanger. Expected it to be roburst enough to take on a task of this nature. Haven't had a problem with the blade though.
I loved this tool and believed it was going to be the perfect pocket knife for me. And it was, for about a month, then a piece broke and the knife failed. Berber designs great products but the quality materials seem to be a problem.
Overall a very good little mulitool. The package opener and the knife were pretty dull but once sharpened they were great. the scissors could barely cut paper and you can really get in between them to sharpen them, but is use this tool everyday and its always on me.
I agree with Dime owner / user... this tool could use a tin can opener. A bottle can be opened with a common BIC lighter or any other plastic pry tool... otherwise, a very nice pocket tool. Nice bang for the buck! I own several GerberGear knives/tools and they are simply awesome.
This is a well made and compact multi-tool, minus the tweezers which are not the best. I had hoped to use this on my keychain but it is just too heavy for me personally.
The anodizing at the tip of the narrow ends get scratched off every time i open and close the tool to access the pliers. Although the angled design looks good at first, just few times of opening and closing the tool scraps off enough anodizing to leave a visible mark even when the tool is closed.
Its a good tool otherwise. Wish i bought the green or red instead though
This is a great pocket tool. I replaced my Swiss Army Executive (knife, file. scissors, toothpick, tweezers) which I've carried for years. Gave up the plastic tooth pick for pliers, bottle opener, retail pkg opener and screwdrivers with little added weight, bulk or price. I have not found another tool this small that has both pliers and scissors. Great design. Scissors are a must for me - an eye brow, a coupon... I don't open many cans. To each his own :)
After loads of research trying to find the perfect EDC MT I found it in the Dime. The tool selection is excellent in this size of EDC. Quality is above average and I'm sure this MT will be in my inventory for generations. I've never owned a package opener but have to say that after discovering this device on the Dime I can now enjoy birthdays and holidays without the worry of dealing with those pesky plastic packages! I live around citrus farms and the package opener serves as an excellent peeler as well. .
It does everything you need it to do with no problem. The blade is super sharp and I mean super sharp. I only had one problem and it was my fault, not Gerber. The pliers bent because I applied to much pressure and bent it but that was my fault, not the tool. The paint comes off really easy but it doesn't bother me. I know others it will but not for me. It does the job and thats what I bought it for.
It is a great tool, but BEWARE!!! the steel is quite bad. It is almost like trying to sharpen ice that will not melt. As soon as you get a nice edge on it, after a little bit of use it would have dulled again. The Scissors are too small to use and the steel makes them have a short life as it is practically impossible to sharpen. Not rust though. Gerber, you should just make a better "pro" version with AUS 8, 8Cr13MoV, VG-10, etc. and have it more expensive like the gator, which has the 154 CM version.
I have to say the overall look of the Dime is really cool! Came out of the box in great condition and sharp as a razor. (credit due for that) However after strapping it to my keys and carrying it around for a week I noticed how scratched and beat up the black exterior was getting. I looked closer and the knife is actually sharpening its own edges around the top when you open and close the pliers. This is a MEGA design flaw and really makes the knife look like crap after minimal use. Sadly I have no original packaging or a receipt so Sportsman's Warehouse won't return or swap for a different style. I got hosed and would not suggest anyone to buy this knife till it is redesigned. This knife is as good as garbage.
This is by far the best pocket tool ever! Gerber quality is the best out there, and they knocked it out of the park with this Dime Pocket tool! Love it! Thanks Gerber! Love the products you deliver! A Loyal Customer.
This is my favorite pocket tool of all time. However, I’m not sure why anyone would use the small scissors when a sharp knife is available. The Dime could be improved by replacing the scissors with a can opener like the EVO Tool has. I’d find that far more useful.
Great little knife! Best mini multi tool I have come across! Scissors could use some work, they are marginal at best, but other than that, its great!
This is the best Multi tool for this size I have ever laid my hands on, and you will most likely agree! Again, backed by the awesomeness of the Gerber name, it is a must have wherever you go! It has a great Stealth Like finish and sleek look to it! It is simply AMAZING! Pick up one of these bad boys! You will be glad you have one and own it!
Some of the things that Gerber puts out are iffy but this is a huge home run. That being said the finish will wear off. I kept this in my 5th pocket for along time but now keep it in a pocket organizer as I was worried about losing it (my company washes my clothes for me) it was perfectly comfortable in that pocket. The bottle opener helps in opening it. The tools almost lock in place because the fit is so nice (none in this size truly lock) some people complain that the tools are hard to get out but you just have to put your finger nail on the far end of the "nail nicks" by that I mean toward the end of the tool like the point of the blade not close to the hinge. If you have any doubt about if to buy this or not and you don't mind the finish wearing off buy it now you will not regret it. This is the best quality item Gerber has put out
Broke the plier jaws on this little tool pinching barbs on fly fishing hooks - worked great until then.
I've had my Dime for about 8 Months now. From Day One, I knew this tool was a keeper. It feels solid in you hand, whether you're using the pliers, scissors, blade, or bottle opener. The blade holds an edge well, and I've never felt like it was going to slip or close in my hand. The Pliers are solid, though the wire cutters are about what you'd expect.
The only issue I've had is that the scissors haven't held up. The cutting surface has held up beautifully, but the spring clip has slipped, and now the scissors will not spring open. I'm sure I could get an allen wrench and fix it, but I just haven't had the time.
Bottom line - If you want a good, compact multitool that can keep up with whatever you need it to, the Dime is the tool for you.
Good multi-tool however, I'm on my second one cause the screws came loose (even after tightening) and I lost the knife. Was disappointed as it said lifetime warranty but luckily I had it replaced.
This tool is killer. I wanted the tactical version because I figured it may have more "options" than the standard Essentials version, but I don't think it does, other than the cool black color. It's built like a tank with a great powder-coat finish that I can't see ever rusting. The bottle opener is a great touch, but makes it a bit difficult to get on a keyring. Also, if you're working in the dark, bring a flashlight, or you will lose this in front of your face.
I had this for two weeks and then the head of one of the screws fell off. The tools and form factor are great, but the build quality is shit.
Great little tool. Perfect fishing/camping companion. Very smooth and precise. High quality construction.
Who could ask for more usefulness in such a compact package. If McGyver had carried one of these the show would never have been cancelled. Just another feather in Gerber's larger plumbed hat. Every Gerber I have ever purchased has never and probably will never fail me.........nuff said. I will probably add this one to my arsenal as well. Thanks Gerber for making truly the BEST products of their kind on the market!!!!
Well worth the $20 for a small multi tool with tons of tools to help out with everyday tasks. Gerber well done!!! I'm purchasing more of these for Christmas and birthday gifts. Keep up the good work Gerber!
This thing is super useful. I always have a pocket knife, but this thing is a whole new level. Absent minded friends think I'm amazing because of this thing. Fits in any pocket, too, which I love.
The dime is one of the best ideas from Gerber yet! Well made, has great selection of tools, and carries in the pocket or key chain with no effort at all. As soon as I had it in my hands I new it was well made. Good job Gerber!
I tried to use the pliers and put a little pressure on the handle and the spring that holds the handles in line with the pliers bent. If my weak hands can ruin them they must not be much good.
I recently bought this tool at academy to replace a Leatherman P4 I lost but had for 5+ years. I used the box opener about 6 times before the back spring failed and used the pliers ONE (1) time and they FAILED too. POOR quality and VERY disappointed with my purchase. I expected MORE from Gerber as I have had your knives several times before. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
I bought this on a whim on sale at Kmart. I didn't realize at the time of purchase that it would be my constant companion. This is without a doubt the most important "knife" purchase I've ever made. I use this little tool every day at least once. The retail package opener is freaking awesome! Great tool Gerber!
Sturdy little thing. I have used my hard for about a month. It has surprised me!
I had to sharpen the blade out of the box, but all in all,,, a great tool
I purchased my "dime" a little over 6 months ago. I loved the multi-functions and use the knife, package opener, & pliers the most. Two days ago, I was clamping down on a screw and the jaws broke off of the pliers. I have never had a Gerber product fail me and have contacted Gerber for a replacement. Hopefully they will honor it and this was an isolated incident.
This little multi-tool is a great "add on" to my Gerber collection. I really actually don't have any "small" knives or multi-tools... so this is new for me... It is great. lightweight, and efficient for all uses! And most importantly, safe! If i could say one thing, it would be... GERBER YOU HAVEN'T FAILED ME YET!
Bought this about 1 year ago, and it has been in my left pocket since then. I have attached a small waterproof AAA LED flashlight with small key rings for the ultimate compact pocket tool.
The combination of scissors and plier jaws in a very compact package was the reason for buying it. Very happy with this tool, and it hasn't failed me yet. Thanks Gerber!
I got the Black Gerber Dime through eBay brand new, in the box, for $15/free shipping!
This is the most perfect pocket multitool you could possibly ask for, for the exception of the file (which in my case that's all a need it for in case I accidentally crack top of my fingernail), it can only be used for finger nails or very fine, soft metal filing.
Overall, the Dime is my favorite new tool/knife to grab as an everyday pocket tool!
Knife blade is shaped and ground to be used for many different applications, even scraping. I thought the scissors working fine, once you get use to the uncommon way you must hold the tool to use them. ( I see some
Reviewers complained about this, so I thought I'd give my 2 cents). Everything I have used is MUCH stronger than the cheaply made and mostly junk, smaller para frame multitask tools of the last few years!
Bravo Gerber, for improving the quality and ruggedness! It needed to happen!
After Gerber was bought by Fiskers, I thought, Oh No?, there goes the quality and they are just going to use Gerber name to mass produce junk! But, to their credit, I believe they have come around and realized just how many Gerber Blade Fans were out there! I am not ready to say they are as good as they were, when my dad got me my first brass handled Gerber Folder with Made in Eugene, Oregon. USA, stamped on the bottom edge, where it pivot area was! But they are getting better & closer, every year!
If you get a Dime, purchase the BLACK model, as I have read the the other 2 models are not as rugged or durable. Oh, if you plan on attaching it to a key ring or lanyard, etc..., change the round, coiled ring on it to one that is more solidly made or you will lose it. The ring it comes with is junk!
Just got it a half hour ago as a present from a friend to replace the pocket Gerber I seem to have lost. In love with it already!!!
Great tool for the various tasks i have to do on and off the job. Never failed and i always keep it on me.
I love this tool! Just bought and love how it fits in hand, and the way the tools are integrated into the design. Great little blade, and a perfect addition to my Gerber collection! Thanks for making great tools!
very functional small tool. after constant use the tools are easier to open. a bit of wd-40 on the joints will help when u first get it. good tool for dislodging duds from a firearm (but keep the breach pointed downrange) i'm going to get another for my glove box.
Great Tool. I did a lot of comparison between the Dime and another competitor's equivalent. Overall I'm glad I went with the Dime as my everyday. I like the style and grind of the blade. The package opener is the most useful and most frequently used tool on it (which puts it ahead of other competition). The file is the only lacking tool ,but in reality I've never used a file on any multi-tool I've owned for anything important. Never had any problem with getting tools in and out on the Tactical. Great tool.
Love the little multitool, however the keychain eyelet is next to useless..
I do love the package opener, and can't believe this hasn't been an option on tools for longer!
The plyers are great, nice and strong.
The file is useless, and the scissors are hard to use..
The blade on the knife is interesting, and works very well..
Pretty good for a inexpensive pocket tool when the full-size is too big to carry...
Nice tool, have been using it for a while now. All tools work great, except the file, the only thing I seem to be able to file with it is only my nails. But for the price an awesome tool. Really love the bottle opener, so easy to use and works so well. The tools are a bit hard to get out at first, but after using them they loosen up a bit so that they can actually be opened without breaking some of your nails.
good small multitool. i was pleased to find out that the package opener can also work as a strap cutter when i was testing out some of the things i could do with the tool. only complaint is that the tools are stiff and will destroy your fingernails when you first get the tool. doubt that this tool will have to be used for my job over my leatherman charge alx, but if something happens, it might be handy.
Great tool love the new logo and the tactical look of it. Only problem is I wish all your products were made in the good old USA.
I've had the Dime (Tactical version) for about a week know. My initial thoughts overall are that I like the form factor and the layout of the tool. I've used all the components, minus the 2 screwdrivers, and think they hold up well enough for light duty EDC-type chores. The "Retail Package Opener" is a handy and useful tool to have and has worked great. The paint is already coming off on several areas where friction is the greatest. The tweezers are rather difficult to slide in and out. It almost feels like you could bend them, if your not careful, sliding back in. I wish the hole for the keychain was bigger, but overall, it seems like a decent enough tool to keep in my pocket throughout the day.
very nice little tool. wire cutter is very soft though and can't really cut anything, scissors are probably better. pliers are very strong nevertheless!
