The classic pocket carry is reinvigorated with fresh colors and updates to the all steel design. A modern drop point blade is deployed with dual thumbstuds for ambidextrous opening, and a durable frame lock can be operated with one hand.
An everyday carry knife should be durable and easy to operate in a pinch – the Paralite does just that. With an all steel construction and a robust modern drop point blade, this slim knife fits into your pocket yet is extremely strong. Dual thumbstuds grant easy access to the blade and the frame lock makes it simple to close with one hand.
I WANT TO MEET THE GUY WHO CAN OPEN THIS PARALITE ONE-HANDED, BECAUSE NOBODY I KNOW CAN DO IT. I THOUGHT I WOULD BUY THE WRENCHES TO DISASSEMBLE IT AND GRIND OFF WHATEVER LOCKS IT SHUT, BUT SCREW THAT; IT'S GOING BACK. HOW COME THERE'S NO ZERO STAR RANKING?
Never reviewed a knife before but I had to on this one. It’s trash. Looks cool. But useless. Hard to open even after a few days. Even with lube. And unless you wanna lose the pivot screw don’t loosen it with out lock tight. Get that Kershaw you saw instead.
I use knives every day. I have used and abused well over 100 knives. Found a pack with this one and the champagne color together for $20. Not bad for $10 a knife. It is hard to open with one hand. At full price I dont think it is worth the money. At half price I think it is great.
I had never reviewed anything online until I was compelled to do so by this product.
What seems to be a pretty common thread is that this knife is pretty hard to open one handed. When I first bought it, it was almost impossible to do so. Even through use, it is still quite difficult.
I was planning on keeping this on my life jacket while boating, but I'm struggling to justify trusting a knife that I have to fight with; especially in situations where I really do only have one hand. I'm likely going to be returning mine, don't bother with the trouble of purchasing one for yourself. You get what you pay for.
I bought this blade about a week ago. I use knives daily at work, first day I brought this knife to work I dropped it a couple feet onto the floor and picked up a eighth inch deep chip in the middle of the blade. I’ve never had issues with my other Gerber knives but this one was very disappointing. I’ve bought much cheaper beat up knives that have lasted admirably through far worse then this one.
This knife is well designed- looks, ergonomics and the edge are all well designed. However the knife itself was horrifically executed. The knife came so dull I couldn’t even use it to slice its packaging. Several of the screws were stripped the clip and pivot were so tight I could barely open it and once opened the liner lock would just barley engage and with that came severe blade play. The washers were also so tight to the blade they scraped the metal frame and the detent was none existent. Gerber you’ve got a great design here just actually do it right, and for 25 bucks this is inexcusable- I’ve bought 3$ knives that performed better.
Great knife for the money! It is my edc, and has been a very useful tool. The knife was a little hard to open at first, but has broke in nicely for an one hand open. The blade does hold a good edge. Would recommend the knife for any edc on a budget.
It's a Good knife , but for me you have to work in something , it's no easy to close , you have to use both hands for close it
Just wanna start off by saying what a beautiful knife. Now to the actual use of it. The knife out of the box has a very stiff opening of the blade easy fix but when you loosen the blade it has to much play side to side. And the way it locks good strong lock by the way but one issue the lock is so strong and does not stick up much so it kinda hurts my thumb trying to close it. And the blade is sharp but not as sharp as it could be out of the box. I know this is a cheaper knife but I love it I just wish Gerber could check into these problems that everyone's haven because this could be a great knife. I got this knife pretty much to use as a beater but I really like the style I'd love to see it revised.
i absolutely love the look and feel of the knife, unfortunately this is about where i stop singing its praises, the blade is extremely stiff out of the box, requiring two hands to open, im sure after a break in period this will be alleviated, my second issue is the knife was not sharp out of the box, and after sharpening it dies not hold its edge for long, its basically a beautiful butter knife at this point.
The Blade is way too tight to open and it is not easily closed either. the blade lock cant be unlocked with my thumb
I love the knife, other than the fact the blade is way to tight. Can't open it with one hand, that's the biggest down fall for me. But other than that it's a great knie
