The undeniable focus of the minimal design, the circular ring in the handle provides intrigue as well as additional stability while in use. With a corrosion resistant fine edge blade, the Remix is a surprisingly tough addition to your daily routine.
The Mini is a smaller version of the Remix with the same innovative open frame design. The circular anodized aluminum handle provides stability and grip while cutting. It has a corrosion resistant, drop-point, fine-edge blade that opens with one hand. The Mini-Remix is years of Gerber creativity distilled into one small pocket clip folder.
I carry this knife every day, the design is wonderful, it’s easy to sharpen and never once been a problem. I keep it in my pocket with keys, it’s been dropped, lost, kicked and well used for at least two years. It has a great patina and I plan to buy another in case I loose mine, that’s why I’m on the website. It’s my only Gerber and a great product!
I've had this knife for years and it still works great. People complain about it being stiff to open because they don't clean and oil it. Take care of things and they will perform optimally. Mine is scratched up a bit from dropping it and lending it to co-workers, but it sharpens easy enough. Perfect utility blade.
Great little everyday knife. The straight edge is easy to keep sharp and the finger-ring is a fun tactile feature. The friction in the joint is not hard to adjust with a pair of pliers (rotate the rings CCW with respect to one another, only about 15 to 30 degrees to loosen). Clean out the the hinge with rubbing alcohol, add a bit of light oil, and there you go.
I've had this knife for about a year. It has several scratches on it from my car keys. Now, the locking mechanism is jammed, so I can't close it.
I've had this knife for about 3 months now, and this is a handy little thing. It is mall and compact with rounded edges all around and a nice pocket clip. The blade grind makes it so i can literally sharpen it as a mini straight razor! However, this is one stiff knife. There is no way you are going to whip this blade out. The way the knife is made creates lots of friction on the pivoting point, so you're gonna have to put in a good effort with your thumb if you want to open it single handed. I tried taking it apart, oiling, but unless you want a loose ring rotating on you and coming unscrewed, there is no solving the stiff opening. The knife is so small, shiny and innocent looking, (mostly due to the fact that it has no pointed tip) it wont intimidate the most timid of people you use it in front of. Great little EDC knife, love it.
Handiest knife ever. Clip a caribiner through the thumb hole and clip it to your belt loop or a d-ring on your pack.
I have an old Gerber knife that I've used for 10 years that is great. I bought the mini-remix because I wanted something a little bigger and I liked the finger hole for grip.
However, I'm disappointed with this knife already. Just got it a few days ago and the blade already has several scratches on it. My old knife still looks new.
Also, it's difficult to open with one hand...even with the thumstud.
Not only is this knife great for cutting boxes and bags, but it is fun to spin on your fingers when it gets slow at night. Also the open frame design is great for cleaning. I love the tip up design, it puts it in my hand the ready to use with out spinning around. the break of the knife is tough at first but when broken in works like a dream.
Awesome knife, overall is very tough. The blade came razor sharp and is easy to touch up. While the size of it is small, and it has no ergonomic features at all, it really is comfortable to hold and i love to control of being able to stick my finger in the pivot for control. everything about this knife makes it my go-to knife over crkt, s&w etc..
Why the one percent imperfection you ask? Well, the clip is not reversible. i know that if you mount it the other way that leaves part of the pivot above the top level of the clip, but i think it would be easier to grab about of your pocket if you could start by already having your finger in it.
Overall, perfect knife Gerber, just drill and tap some more holes, for me, please?
Very nice knife. As one reviewer said, it is a little stiff to open. One of its best features is that it takes an extremely fine edge. The cutting edge is perfectly flat and a few strokes on a fine Arkansas stone produces an edge that you can shave with.
Love this knife! I use everyday in a warehouse setting. Easy to open(adustible action) for the other review. I can almost open this knife like its a switch blade.
Have owned three of these due to loss at the job and would purchase again and again!!
