Loaded with innovations and backed by Bear, this knife has everything. With a 3.6 inch drop point blade, a textured rubber grip, dual thumbstuds, and a sturdy lock back design you are never unprepared. A military-grade sheath is durable and lightweight.
Surviving the unexpected is about being prepared, and the Bear Grylls Sheath Folder exceeds the standard. Few people know more about survival than Bear Grylls, ex-British Special Forces officer, experienced mountaineer and respected survival trainer. Taking advantage of Gerber’s decades of experience and Bear Grylls’ adventure knowledge, the Black FE Sheath Folder gives you the ability to engage with your surroundings in perpetual survival mode.
COMPACT SURVIVAL SECURITY
Built on the same platform as the original, the updated Bear Grylls Sheath Folder replaces its gray areas with a sleek black, both on the handle and the blade. Additionally, the blade itself receives an update with a full fine edge. Based on the Bear Grylls Ultimate Knife, it’s a sturdy one-hand opening folder. Its rubber handle is textured to stay in your hand, with dual thumb studs on the blade for quick opening. Its lockback mechanism keeps the knife securely open and securely closed.
ATTACH IT FOR CERTAINTY
The Bear Grylls Sheath Folder comes equipped with a low-profile sheath for lashing to a backpack or attaching to a belt. It has a lanyard hole for additional securing options. Included with this sturdy folder is Bear’s Priorities of Survival pocket guide.
Gerber makes amazing knifes for people who want to start a knife collection. My first knife was the airlift and I still love it. But..... They have locking mech issues. The airlift has a frame lock, which works flawlessly, but any other mech (lockback, button, etc.) from Gerber is trash. Safety should be #1 priority for a knife company, but Gerber doesn't seem to want to do this. Also their customer service is awful. Gerber, if you want to sell premium knifes, make sure they don't cut the user, it's counterintuitive.
I have owned this knife for almost a year, with not a single problem after many camping trips. It got wet and didn't rust, stayed sharp, and did its job quickly and efficiently. It is easily opened with one hand and the serrated edge is extremely useful. Best knife I've ever owned!
Knife came extremely sharp and has retained that edge despite me beating the heck out of it. Lockup is so solid you'd think it was a fixed blade. The sheath is great. You can carry the knife normally or scout style. I plan to buy ome of these for each of my kits!
The overall design of the blade is good but when I got mine I used it to cut pieces of bark into smaller pieces and when I got done after about 20 cuts the blade had a couple chips. I resharped it and got rid of them but the original edge did not hold up
I loved the size of the knife first off. Perfect size for sheath carry. A large folding knife like this is more capable of handling almost every task an EDC would be expected to. The colors are great, I like the scheme. Sharp right out of the package. Keeps a reasonably sharp edge with moderate use. Must be a different steel than the original folder, which was easier to resharpen than this one is. No big deal, though, harder to sharpen steel is usual better steel. I'm fine with that. On a personal note: I'm also a fan of the Gator folding knives and, I gotta tell ya, this knife gives them a run for the money. I actually prefer the design of the handle and blade on this knife over the Gator of the same size. I can move it around it in more positions and I find it is easier to perform some types of carving with it. The shape of the knife is nice, too.
I have had this knife for 4 years, and it has held up better than any knife I have had before. It is very durable, it has been in the water many times and it still does not have a speck of rust on it. The blade holds and an edge well, it may take some time to get and edge but when you do it will stay for quite a while. The rubber handle is invaluable, it never slipped even when it was soaking wet. The lock is awesome, I have used it as a throwing knife a few times and the lock never failed. I have used it as and EDC knife for 3 years, and the only reason that I don't any more is because it does not have a pocket clip, the only thing that I would change is the lack of a pocket clip. Over all the size is perfect, but I have big hands, so for people with small hands it will be a bit large. In the end it is the best knife that I have ever had my hands on, and the price makes it a win-win. I highly recommend it to any one who is looking for a durable folding knife.
Gots knife as a chistmas gift 4 months back
Impressed at workmanship and finish.
Has kept an edge very well after extensive use.
Warning!! Do not buy this knife!! The locking mechanism is so poorly designed and will close and cut you very severely. I informed the company and they blew me off. Even more insulting there insurance company contacted me and informed me it was my fault and they wanted nothing to do with the knife problem. They need to stop selling this knife and examine the locking mechanism. DO NOT BUY THIS KNIFE!!
0 STARS if it would allow me
I have had it for awhile now and it feels great in your hand . I have hacked on limbs with it ,and my dad even used it to shin a deer and it worked fine . It is a very good size and my only request would be a a pocket clip. Great knife I recommend it highly
I have had this tool for two years and it is still solid after going thru wood, mud, water and much much more. The knife still feels an looks brand new after a good cleaning. Love this knife.
