I bought his knife online and was not disappointed when I first got the knife. But as time went on, the act that the serrations taking up 1/3 of the blade it started to become annoying and I wish there was a N/a version. Seeing the tanto hold up to the abuse as well as it did. The sheath need a redesign as the snap has become really loose. I am looking forward to seeing Gerber Putin’s in the work to make their product that best in their market. With the price this knife is a must have.
i bought this knife on www.walmart.com and i'm very pleased with its performance i used to own folding knives which would eventually break so.i chose the strength of a fixed blade knife. this knife is very well made as well as the sheath. there was a slight bur on the back of the serrations but that was easily fixed. the tanto point is the strongest out of all the blade tips. I'd recommend this knife to any responsible adult.
It's a nice knife to only be 30 dollars knice sheath comes razor sharp out of the box love this knife
I want to preface this by saying that I actually bought this from Dick's Sporting Goods, where I found it on sale for $19.79, so I paid quite a lot less than what I would've buying it from this site.
That being said, the knife itself is phenomenal. It fits well in the hand with plenty of leeway between people with big hands and people with smaller hands. The handle is sturdy, and can take quite a beating, but being solid aluminium, it can be a bit rough to use for a long time without gloves. A rubberized grip would make it much more comfortable to hold with a bare hand, but it's still one of the more ergonomic knives I've used. The weight is moderate, and it balances very nicely right about where your index finger would fit, giving you great control over the knife while keeping it firmly in your grip.
The blade is well-made, with a point that's sturdy enough to stab into hardwood over and over without bending, dulling, or chipping. The tanto tip merges well with the rest of the blade, and gives a superb cutting edge. My one issue with the blade itself are the serrations, which are a bit shallower than I would prefer. A quick sharpening and they'll perform perfectly fine, but I prefer my serrations with a deeper, more sawtooth-like design, as it makes it easier to saw through branches.
The sheath is something I'm seeing quite a few people complain about, but I wouldn't call it anything close to a deal-breaker. Nylon is far from the best sheath material, and different colours or patterns would be nice, but it does its job well and keeps the knife very secure.
Overall, I give my own knife five stars, because for $20, it's possibly the best fixed-blade knife I own. However, as I mentioned, it does cost $50 on this site. Personally, I wouldn't mind paying an extra thirty bucks for this, as its construction is superb and the knife itself outperforms my $110 Ka-Bar tanto by leaps and bounds. Even for the listed $50, I'd say this is well worth it.
Great knife that holds a edge very well and is very sturdy. It is very comfortable in the hand. My only gripe and personal con is the sheath seems it will see the worst of wear in months of use.

Looks nice but the nylon case is a stopper for me not to buy for the price, I would have to send out and get skydex sheath maid for it for half the cost of knife.
Looks like a great knife, was interested until the Army acu camo colored nylon sheath was the only one offered. Nylon sheaths NEVER hold up. Offer a different sheath and ill buy.
Good strong knife works well. Only thing to complain about is the sheath fell apart already, have only had it one month.
Phenomenal knife. Light, strong, and incredibly well thought out. As a close combat weapons expert, I couldn't have designed a better knife myself.
Excellent knife. served me well in Iraq. Lightweight, solid, wonderful all around. The sheath is almost everything you can ask for, molle compatible, lightweight, slim, except for the color. Yes it matches my uniform but i really wished it would have come in a different color or at least offer the sheath in a variety of color options
Please get a black sheath, the Camo pattern does not go with anything other than similarly patterned camo. If the knife is going to be marketed with a camouflage sheath, there should be options for other camos (marpat, USMC, etc)
Thanks!!!
Love the knife. Really don't care for the stealth. I don't need multi cam sheath on jeans or real tree camo. Black kydex would've been just fine.
The serrations feel to long and the sheath falls apart very fast I would suggest something from kabar
I bought a couple of these to put in the vehicle bags without breaking the bank in the process. It is a well built no nonsense knife.I would highly recommend if you are wanting a well built knife if you are on a smaller budget.Far outperforms its price.
Thanks Gerber!
I love every thing about this knife except for the sheath. I wish it came in OD green, black or kydex instead of digital camo. If you did that Gerber I would luve this Knife even more.
Would LOVE to see this knife with a black sheath! Please get a black sheath available and I would by for sure!
The knife is very good, nothing bad to say. The sheath is the only one that has all the main features I seek in a sheath: ambidextrous, Molle compatible, reversible fastener (at the perfect position to hold the knife without play), leg strap... Please evaluate to offer it in more colors, I would buy more than one.
Great slim, light fighter - more of an urban tool military, so suggest it come with black, Kydex-type sheath, preferably with clip.
I'm a woman who has a knife collection (I wear four a day!) and I have to say, this is one of my absolute favorite knives, ever. I was never a fan of the fixed blade varieties, but I fell in love once I saw it. Not a fan of the digital camo, and requested a black camo sheath instead. Love, love, love.
Purchased this knife 3 weeks ago and am quite impressed with it's sturdiness and quality. Please, PLEASE make a black sheath available for this! I don't use digital camo for civilian use. Would give it all 5 stars if that was to happen.
I got this knife i love it ,i cut the belt loop off right above the snap sewed it back together i wear it every day
this knife has helped in some sticky situations. the full tang rocks it didn't bend when prying & stays sharp most of the time. A little sharpening & that is all that it takes.
AWESOME
i got this knife cause I was looking for fixed blade .I didn't need a survival or hunting knife and already got at folder, to me its a knife I carry when I ride my bike its ready when i need. it fast it s a city tool for me weather self defense or emergency its what I need. this knife was made to cut it holds your thumb well and easy to manuver nice
I use this knife daily for both protection and utility. granted the sheath is crap, but I strap it on my boot and im ready for the day. working were I do includes some shifty individuals and possible theft of important metals but they see the knife and look the other way.. I own 4 gerbers and all of them do their job great. this is a keeper but as for the sheath I wrapped the elastic end with electrical tape and its perfect. the handle is a bit slippery but also wrapped it in athletic tape and called it good. love this knife... A MUST BUY!!! if u love cutlery and just collect knives, I suggest owning this one... its the best ... thanks gerber!
Bought it last week, and I already LOVE it! Excellent balance, handle has several different grip posistions, the serration isn't too long so thats its annoying, yet not so short that it's useless. I only have one complaint, and that is the sheath: Good design, but I really, REALLY wish it was available in BLACK!!!
Reading other reviews on this knife i figured i might as well buy this knife for my tactical vest. Very well made, strong, and multi-role use. I went ahead and got a hard case made for it, the soft camo case is pointless. Unlike the Marine, the 1/2 serrated edge is perfect for making the knife a multi-role blade.
Great Knife besides the serrated blade and the horrible sheath!! Pretty shure the lightweight machined-aluminum handle will freeze my hand when using it in the cold. Should of been a Lightweight glass-filled nylon handle or Co-polymer soft-grip handle.
I carry this knife everyday on my pack. It's light and feels good in the hand. The notches on the back work well with a flint rod and the sheath is versatile. A good working knife.
Seriously Gerber, plain edges. I love your products but a plain edge on this knife would make it ten fold more effective and efficient. Easier to sharpen and to cut with as serrated knives typically snag more than saw through. Also, being a Marine, I would much rather not have the sheath that comes with this knife, a black one would suit everyone and every uniform. Or perhaps.. a choice to buy a plastic snap in sheath as some of your other knives come with would be handy for quick release and easy stow capability. Just something to consider.
Great knife. I love it! but guys, Please start offering a choice between Serrated and Plain edge and preferably different options for a sheath. other than that, the knife itself is amazing.
is a good knife comfortable not to long of a blade tack off the serrated edge and balance the blade and its perfect
Love the knife. Stays with me all the time. Only a few things I would change. I took off the metal grips and cord wrapped the handle instead. Makes for a better gripping surface and looks cooler. Also would've provided some options on the sheath. A coyote sheath would be perfect. Other than that, this baby's awesome.
Fantastic Knife, Love the functionality and utilitarian aspects, simple and rugged. It gets the job done, Unfortunately the ACU camo sheath sucks, coyote, OD, or perhaps a kydex offering would be a step up.
the fact that it only comes with an army camo sheath, makes me not want to get it. i think it should have a black or cyote brown sheath. the knife itself is top notch.
I have one of these and it is on the front of my go bag at all times. This is the knife that I chose to take with me to hell and back and it has served in that role perfectly. It has ridden with me on every mission I have done over here in Afghanistan and continues to stay sharp and at the ready. When I look for something that can be counted on no matter what, I look to Gerber.
I carry this knife on my pack, and its great. light weight, easy to handle. only complaint is the grips on the handle. found it to be slippery when my hand was wet or sweaty. put some hockey tape on the handle and it did the trick! love the knife!
After buying the Prodigy I decided to get something a little less overkill. I visited my local knife dealer and found this nice gem.
I have my likes and dislikes about the knife comparing to the Prodigy but Prodigy aside, this knife is great. I actually like that the grip doesn't have any kind of rubber in it because it's less damage that could happen to it. I like the sheath to an extent, I am in love with the lock style sheath that the Prodigy and the BG Survival knife have and that just seems like a perfect formula.
Also, based on reviews about the snap closure being elastic and snapping. Gerber being the great company that they are have already fixed this problem and removed the elastic band and replaced it with material that the rest of the sheath is made out of. Now that was a fast fix to a problem! Great job guys.
As far as the blade itself, I have had nothing but good things to say about it, amazingly sharp right out of the box, I already laid my hand open with it when I slipped cutting some rope (no fault of the knife however, I just wasn't paying attention to what I was doing) The knife has a great grip even without rubber inlays on it. Great styling and when you do things right, it will never slip out of your hand.
It has a very nice weight to it, and is nicely balanced. It's easy to handle and will get the job done.
I give the Knife an 8 out of 10. (my only problem being I like the guard style on the Prodigy and the LMF better)
Sheath. I give it a 7 out of 10. (My only problem being it would have been nice to have the blade locker system on it i.e. Prodigy and LMF)
Overall, whole package, I give it a 9 out of 10.
Comparing the Warrant to the LMF and Prodigy isn't fair, it's a complete different class of knives, but I think The warrant could use some tips from the others.
All in all, Another Great Gerber Product.
Great looking knife. Simple and functional. Keeps a very good edge. The sheath is OK to use but could be so much better maybe in leather. This is a great all rounder I take this and the gator II and its everything I need. one star off for the sheath
Need a new sheath for purchase. Not compatible with current gear due to color and poor quality. GREAT Knife
Great knife. Sheath sucks. Not everyone is army so do away with gay army camo and go all black or tan or have a marine camo version available.
Good knife.... well balanced ... grip is a bit slippery though ...
Can be sharpened to a good edge and keeps it ! ... The sheath is a disappointment though, especially if you take into account the price ....
Haven't had the opportunity (thankfully !) to test it in actual combat., but seems a good overall buy .
Last week when I went into the store to buy an S&W knife, I came across this badboy and just HAD to have it, so I chose this instead.
The knife is really decent, and I am sure it will last me my whole life - but the sheath is a different story.
For the price, I was really disappointed when the elastic part which holds the knife into the sheath broke the FIRST TIME I put it over the knife. It's just not nearly as strong as it should and could easily be.
Also, I don't see why there is only ONE leg strap with it. A leg strap is like .50 cents to manufacture? Why not throw in 2 like normal?
Overall, because of the blade's quality I'll be keeping it but I didn't expect to be looking for a replacement sheath the day after I bought it.
The Blade looks amazing. The sheath looks cheap and the sheath just as important as the knife. A good sheath is going to keep the knife in good condition longer and keep the user from being injured and losing or harming the blade.
A very lightweight fixed blade knife with a very functional (albeit ugly) sheath. Its weight is closer to a folding knife than a fixed blade one. It's very well made and incredibly versatile, I love this knife. Good job Gerber!
Absolutley love the knife. Strapped to the sholder of my pack it goes every wherebwith me and performs all jobs with out prejudice.
