MEET GERBER
Meant to be kept in your vehicle, this kit equips the user with tough emergency tools that save the day. With a compact size it can be stored anywhere and easily accessed when the time comes, you don't want to be downrange or down the road without it.
Details:
Gerber's Off-Road Survival Kit equips you with rugged, emergency tools for any situation . This high-speed kit includes: a MP 600 multi-tool, Back Paxe Axe, a Maglite Pro+ flashlight, an E-Tool an Exchange-A-Blade hand saw, a Concertina Wire Cutter and a small First Aid Kit. With limited space in your vehicle the compact size of this kit (12" x 11" x 3") enables you to secure your gear almost anywhere. So if you find yourself down-range or simply down the road you will be prepared.
I found this kit at a pawn shop down the street for $75. The flashlight button was broken so its been taken out. The rest is pretty tough though. Extremely happy with this gear purchase. These kits will be military surplus in a few years anyway, so be patient fellows.
Every kit you see on almost every website can be placed together by yourself. The only thing you're paying for is the case all these tools are in. You can buy a small box and store these in your truck/vehicle. Wire cutters can be bought anywhere & you can buy them more powerful. Go to your local farm store. Farmers cut wire all day long. Gerber is just protecting themselves from lawsuits.
Awesome kit, flashlight is for signaling only, saw is cheap construction and mine was broken before it could be used but the rest of the kit is solid. I carry the multi-tool on my EDC bag and the rest of it stays stowed until it is needed. Sorry for those of you who cannot get one, but most people don't need the cutting tool anyhow and the rest of it is easy to obtain anywhere.
the reason its for mil only is because of the concertina wire cutter. civs can buy everything else. stop complaining
I can't I received one of these kits while in Iraq in 2005 I carried it while I was in Iraq ,I carried it when I got home in my off-road vehicle it was a wonderful piece of equipment I wish I still had it ,thank you Gerber
I bought this for my "Go-Bag". It is full of very useful items that have saved me in 4 different countries. I recommend it to anyone who has the credentials to buy it.
this is stupid. i came on here to pick up some camping stuff and find i cant buy any of this unless im active military? since when are shovels and saws restricted from civilian purchase? i find this both rediculous and offensive and will no longer buy gerber merchandise until you do away with this "program" of yours. since i know you wont do that lets just say youve lost my business for life.
I spent 22 years protecting the citizens and constitution of the USA, why am I excluded from purchasing items under this program. "Navy Chief " I'd like to join again but they don't take 60 YO's
I would love to have one. But unfortunately the army or the marine corps do not accept me for be over age. Even if I'm more capable than any wimpy kid of 20 years old. Im just 35. And all just to own one of this kits.... :)
I was able to buy equivalent pieces though not of Gerber brand but of at least same quality. i am an avid knife collector and come on Gerber you're not that exclusive. a kit like this should be available to general public
If you want to eat at the grown folk table then you gotta pay your dues. Some things are just better left for the grown folks simple as that.. Concerning Travis OUTDOORSMAN post: This Kit was Designed for Army and Marine units in Afgan and US Fed forces stateside like ICE so I doubt they are worried about profits..Military COntracts PAY .. Oh and this kit in great to have got out of some bad situ because of it..Great Kit Hooah. Enlist and u can get all the cooltoys
Very disappointed in a company that produces high quality merchandise to place a limit on who can purchase these. Can you sense the lost business Berber?
I love this kit and for all you "Come on Man" people. There is a simple solution, join the military. It's that simple.
For the people asking why they cant by it its because this is military grade stuff. To get this it requires that you join the Pro Program, to join th Pro Program it requires that served time in the military and have the credentials to prove it, or that you severed time as a local law inforcer.
Most of the items listed, everyone should already have. Personally, I am not a fan of Compact or reduced size kits unless it is for boat or aircraft survival gear. Offroading and hunting, it is my opinion that you never send a boy, to do a man's job. Gerber continues to manufacture very nice products and an emphasis should be placed on full size and professional equipment that has been torture tested in the field and has proven itself beyond reproach. The type of kit offered here is for yuppies or Soccer Moms.
I'm a prepare my self I would love to have this why can't i.but what I find dumb is I can go to a store and buy the exact same thang just werid.yo!
This product gets 1 star until it is available for everyone to purchase. I see no reason it should require credentials to purchase. I'd love to have it in my vehicle for road side emergencies while overlanding in South America.
I would love to buy this for when I go camping. Please allow for civilians to have this useful, harmless kit.
Why is his a credentials required item? The only thing in it that is even slightly non-civilian is the wire cutter, but no credentials are required to buy that single item in the online store and it is only vaguely different from any other good wire cutter. Free it up!
I dont see why a civilian can't own this, I would love this to go in my truck, what is it in this kit that a civilian cant own
