MEET GERBER
As pull saws go, the Exchange-A-Blade is the ultimate in versatility. The interchangeable blades are sharp, durable, and designed with purpose. The coarse blade is ideal for wood, the fine blade for bone. Replacement blades are available in each.
Details:
We had the big idea some time ago: Craft a handsaw with interchangeable blades and a handle wrapped in our famous Gator texture. But now we've upgraded the concept to be stronger than ever. With beefier construction and an improved blade exchange mechanism. Our saw blades are made of premium stainless steel, as is the blade channel. Whether you're using the coarse blade for normal wood cutting or the fine blade for hardwood and big game bones, you're doing 1/3 less work when compared to other saws. The soft rubber over molded Gator grip is a case study in how to make a saw easy to hold and effortless to use.
My first Gerber saw that I purchased over 15? years ago and is still in my hunting vest and I take it to the BWCA every trip. It was/is magic. I beet the heck out of it over all these years and it has taken the beating. Unfortunately, I bought two since that time as back ups. The first one had a much cheaper flexible steel that snapped in two without much effort when cutting. The second one shattered the handle. Since that time, I'm frustrated and have been looking for the original design of replacement coarse blade but only find the very poor version with blunted coarse teeth. Is there any way of producing the original design again?? Please?
I think the saw combo is great but one thing GERBER needs to do is redesign the blade as has been said the blade is very week. NEEDS TO BE STRONGER
The saw blade snapped the first time I used it. It worked great for an hour or so, though. I expected more from Gerber, and in fairness, I'm assuming this item was made by a contracted company or something similar. But I sure wouldn't put my name on it without making sure it was up to snuff.
I bought the ultimate game cleaning kit or whatever it is called. this saw was in it. i have used it for 10 years and cut 100's of shooting lanes and removed branches to make it possible to climb a tree to hunt from. Finally after 10 yrs of service, the coarse branch blade broke. Great saw for the money.
Please let me know when they are in stock, i need to replace it.
