The axe itself is great for what it is intended for. The case on the other hand is totally useless. Just walking through the woods the axe is constantly falling out. Lost it once had to back track to find it.

Hi Gerber,
I have own and use my new myth hatchet for 3 months now. It has become the perfect addition to my EDC pack. Sharp and versatile for the back country and whatever you may encounter. Thanks for another great tool.

The other review stating the Gerber Myth Hatchet has a slow and difficult release is false as I'm sure he figured out once he got more familiar with the hatchet because there is a simple way to quickly and easily remove the hatchet but if you try and remove it wrong it is hard and slow and dangerous but once you know how you realize the polymer sheath is as ingenious as the hatchet itself. The only draw back is the belt attachment is a polymer loop instead of a clip, and not all my belts fit but that's just out of the box as I already have future plans for customization utilizing a Philips screw hole. I haven't tested the hatchet itself too much yet but I already see the potential for it's chopping and steering ability with multiple solid grip positioning. And anyone who owns a Gerber Myth Hatchet will tell you that out of the box it's as sharp as the devil himself. God bless.

Hi, Gerber i think you should re-modify the sheath design of the Bear Grylls survival hatchet like this one because that was toooooooooo hard and slow to remove.
just my opinion. thanks.
