Big. Tough. Capable. Versatile. The Diesel is all of these things and more, available to you at the flick of a wrist. With true one-handed deployment, this tool is the ultimate in efficiency. The industrial strength components are larger and stronger, for the toughest of jobs.
Think big. Think tough. Think capable. Think versatile. Think about combining all those stalwart qualities into a king-of-the-road multi-tool that also features the ease and convenience of wrist-flick deployment. That's the story behind the Diesel Multi-Plier.
We're talking about an industrial-strength tool, here. The kind that pulls no punches and shrinks from no task...regardless of how tough it might be. The individual stainless steel tools are bigger than average, and more rugged than normal. And each one locks into place for maximum safety and security.
Maybe you could get by with a lesser tool. But why run the risk of all the cussing and fuming when you can own the multi-tool that rules the road. Diesel. The one tool you need when you can only carry one tool.
Love the tool except for 2 quirks: Lanyard ring is impossible to swing out without using another tool to grab it and fold it out. The sheath will not accommodate the tool with the lanyard ring deployed; the flap will not close as securely as when the lanyard ring is stowed.
I've had my diesel over 8 years. It has performed flawlessly every time I've needed it. Still looks like new. Even after being MIA for over a year in the bottom of a rucksack that could have potentially rusted this thing in the environment it was placed; still new looking. If you're thinking the price tag is a little high, it's not. You could spend 80 dollars on 8 cheap MTs or purchase the Diesel that will last longer, stay stronger and look good doing it.
I'm going on 4 years with my Diesel and it's become part of the family. I've had this in my construction truck and it has handled some absurd tasks. I finally broke one of the carbide blades and its pretty cool being able to replace those. Bottomline, this thing is a beast!
Fantastic tool, most used in my collection by far. Unfortunately I've broken the plier tip on both the ones I've had, everything else still works perfectly, can't seem to find any spare parts though.
The tool itself has been fine for me over the last 6+ years.
Two of the hex head screws for the jaw release buttons came loose and are now lost. I simply need two of those screws sent to me. However, I filed a request for parts and Gerber expects me to send the entire tool in for repair. It's ridiculous.
Just send the damn screws, people...
This my second Gerber Diesel. It's been stiff from the first time I opened it. I've had it for five years, and it still stiff. Never could flick it open. You have to pull out the nose part of the pliers. It will never come out any other way. My first set worked perfectly, but I lost those now I'm stuck with a bad multi-tool.. They are still made well, but don't function correctly.
Gerber is the best. I have had three of them and only had to replace them due to loss or extreme abuse. Most used tool I have.
I bought one in 29 palms in 2009, used it in Afghanistan 2009 and 2010 best tool i ever had, still use it every day. just he tip of the knife broke but very strong tool
I purchased my Diesel back in 2004. Used it at work every day. Great multi tool. Used it for all the things I should have and then sometimes for thing I shouldn't have. This was a workhorse multi tool. I broke the tip of the needlenose pliers off when I really need a bigger tool. But I have done it so many times in the past. I pushed it over the edge and then some. Sent it in for warranty repair. They sent me a brand new multi tool. Very happy with Gerber backing up their warranty. Nice to see a company stand behind their product. GREAT JOB GERBER!!!!!
This is one of the best multi tools in it's category. I only wish they had a blunt nose option. Very good scissors, I like the combo blade, and the pliers are very comfortable to use. Great job on this one.
I got a Gerber Diesel for father day 21 years ago and I still have works great but I broke the tip of the knife and the file I'm trying to get it replaced having problem with that
I got one of these 5 years ago and am still happy with it comes in handy for the kind of work I do great quality and craftsmanship
Been doing everything from a very young age and used a whole lot of tools.
Got the diesel as a gift about 10 years ago and it's my everyday carry, do everything tool.
The only thing I would like to see it upgrade with is a t-shank saw blade.
Absolutely the best and most used tool that I own! I don't go a single day without these by my side.
I took the Diesel with me to Iraq back in 2006. I have had it ever since, and it is my favorite M.T. to carry around. I recently had the knife tip break off, but I just sent it in for repairs. It lasted eight years without a problem. Great product and I recommend it, if you come across one.
I have used the Diesel ever since it came out. One pair has lasted that long!!!
I put this beside all other competitors tools daily. Simply cant hold a candle to the Gerber!! I don't work without it on my side. 1,000,000 stars!!!
Hard to find in certain stores. But worth the search, or buy here!!
Found the knife was great tool, always on my side at work. Only thing philips broke to easy and the needlnose twisted more than I liked. As one of my work tools cut , saw, file, tool has helped me out of a problem more than once. I would give it 9 out of 10 for the mulitiy tool. great job.
Just upgraded to the Diesel. Great tool. Never leave home without it. Got mine on sale at Walmart. The Bit set was missing and it was discounted.
I like the diesel its a great tool to have, however If im going to spend $70 I prefer the Leatherman Wave.
I love the Diesel! I carry it me everywhere and use it a lot more than I plan to. This is a great tool that any man should carry with him.
Extremely durable. Only thing that would make it better is to have a small Torx and possibly an allen wrench.
