Compact and indestructible, this knife was designed to be the survival tool that stays close at hand. A durable rubber handle is ergonomically shaped for better grip; the handy partially serrated blade is housed in a plastic sheath that can clip anywhere.
Surviving the unexpected is about being prepared, and the Bear Grylls Compact Fixed Blade exceeds the standard. Few people know more about survival than Bear Grylls, ex-British Special Forces officer, experienced mountaineer and respected survival trainer. Taking advantage of Gerber’s decades of experience and Bear Grylls’ adventure knowledge, the agile Compact Fixed Blade gives you the ability to engage with your surroundings in perpetual survival mode.
FINE EDGE RESILIENCE
The hardy Compact Fixed Blade knife possesses a durable handle with rubber overmold and a prominent finger choil that offers solid application. The ergonomically shaped handled offers you a better, more comfortable grip in all types of weather. With a fine edge blade that resolves in a defined clip point, this solid full tang blade will work for you to cut, slice, and gouge, enabling survival in even the most difficult environment.
SHEATH WITH VERSATILE CARRY OPTIONS
Finger jimping on the top of the blade and a grippy rubber handle means the Compact Fixed Blade won’t slip, no matter how rough the conditions. The lanyard hole gives you extra flexibility in carrying options. It includes a lightweight plastic sheath that clips to a belt or backpack. The clip is removable and adjustable for both tip-up and tip-down carry. The Priorities of Survival Pocket Guide is included with this knife, furthering its usefulness and potential life-saving utility.
The BG compact fixed blade, is easy to sharpen, and stays fairly sharp. The handle is a tad small for people with large hands, but fits great in mine (wear a medium sized glove). Rubber handle is very comfortable and offers a lot of blade control, and is full tang!
The sheath is very secure... but it is hard to take out and harder to put back in. I could give this 5/5 if the design worked better. Overall good knife
At the price point, it is hard to beat. Due to the low price it has been my "beater" knife for about a year now. Whether im using a log and hammering the back of it to chisel grooves, using as a light duty prybar or simply making kindling...it does the job!
Is it on par with items like my Tracker or even Tracker Jr? No. But at over 300 dollars LESS, I don't expect it to be. Only major complaint is the sheath is garbage.
Overall Quality: 7/10
Original Sharpness: 6/10
Edge Retention: 9/10
In summary, I would absolutely suggest this knife to someone looking for a good, cheap quality knife. Normally cheap and quality don't go hand in hand...in this case, it does.
I bought this knife a few years back from a local retail store and in my honest opinion was a very good buy. Used it for a ton of things, even as a prybar in a pinch.
if your firend loves wods suvrivaling and exploring and he wonts knife wich is safe but sharp this is best chose
