The core of the Vital series is the exacting, bright Vital Fixed Blade Knife, featuring one of the safest Exchange-A-Blade options on the market. A smart mash-up of a replaceable utility blade with a high-visual orange rubber handle with a grip that won’t quit, this knife travels to the field and on the hunt with ease.

The innovative marriage of Gerber’s hunting savvy to our exchangeable razor blade history has given birth to the Vital Fixed Blade Knife. With a punishingly sharp blade that mimics a surgical knife, the ingenious tool cuts through the cape of your game like a hot blade through butter. The inclusion of its several replacement blades means you won’t get caught in the middle of skinning or field dressing with a dull tool. This is a knife that works fast and smart, and when the blade is burned out it can be replaced easily on the fly. It requires no extra tools for its blade replacement, so it doesn’t slow the action of field dressing, while offering super-safe operation as an exchangeable blade knife.

With a bright orange high-visual Vital handle it’s easy to spot this knife if you should drop it while out in the field. The Vital Fixed Blade Knife’s large finger choil and larger width give it a solid, comfortable grip. Functioning beautifully in its simple role using utility blades that can be easily replaced as necessary, the Vital Fixed Blade Knife includes a #60 industry-standard attached razor blade and six #60 replaceable razor blades.

This is a Christmas gift from me to myself. A very nice knife. Worked very well on a deer that I killed. Held its edge throughout, without any problem
Would be nice if it came with a sheath and the ability to hold extra blades.
Would have rated it a 5 if it had that.

I cut up 2 deer with this knife. It worked GREAT. I am really happy. People say the blade falls off in the cavity of the deer and we didn't have any problems with that. It worked great to gut, skin, and process the deer. I will refer my buddies.

For the growing popularity of such type knives there competitors make a better one at the moment.

I agree with sportsman. I will buy if they make a sheath and one that holds extra blades.

A very nice knife. Comes with six extra blades and easy to remove blades, Blades come razor sharp. Knife is orange so you will never lose it. Only complaint is that the knife does not come with a sheath.

I haven't had a chance to use it on game yet, but I like not having to flex the blade to remove or replace it the way I do with my havalon.

Gerber could improve this product by:
1. Include an actual sheath or pouch for storage.

2. Package any spare blades in the same orange blade coverings that came with the knife.

3. Make a fixed handle fixed the vital for the 127 series blades.
