Hello, my name is Nate. I just now got home and wanted to let you know what just happened to me. I was driving North on I-65 in KY. I had just passed the city of Bowling Green when a car in front of me tried to pass a tractor trailer that was in the fast lane. The car went into the grass that separated the North bound and South bound traffic, lost control, slung back on to the North bound lanes and hit an older couple that were driving a pickup truck in the slow lane.
The pickup truck flipped a few times before coming to a stop. I stopped my car and helped two little girls out of the car that caused the accident and then I heard a faint cry of "help" coming from the pickup. I ran to the pickup, surprised that there were any survivors, and found the passenger (an older lady) trying to climb out of the overturned truck. She couldn't crawl out though because her seat belt was pinned and had her trapped in. I told her to hold on, that I was going to have to cut her free. That is when I reached to my side and pulled out the Gerber Multi Tool that my wife had bought me just this last Christmas, and cut her free. I asked if there was anyone else in the car and she said her husband was. His seat belt also had him trapped inside the vehicle, and he was bleeding really bad from his head. I used my Gerber to cut him free, too.
Thanks to the Gerber that performed when needed the most, no one obtained any further injuries.
