Multi-Plier 600 - DET Black, Sheath
When you put this tool in the skilled and steady hands of a combat engineer, the first thing he'll probably say is something like this: How the devil did I ever get along without this? Its a fair question when you consider the compact versatility of the D.E.T.
The hearty stainless steel is coated with a black, non-reflective coating that will never produce a give-away glint while working in the sun. Our patented one-handed opening plier mechanism can be a lifesaver in the field, whether you're under the gun or not.
Unique to the D.E.T., a punch for C4 explosives and a blasting cap crimper. Then there's the pure, can-do functionality of the premium RemGrit blade for severing cable. The ballistic nylon sheath is part of the package.

I've had mine for YEARS - it's one of the few things the Air Force didn't make me give back when I got out. God only knows how many things it's fixed since then...
Although I still note that it's using the old-style steel cutter jaws - rather a pity that it's not gotten upgraded to the carbide tool bits for cutting wires (sharpening those steel jaws is a pain - especially when you have to use it to, say, cut through chain link fencing...)
I'm also curious as to why you'd need to provide creds to purchase this tool now - since there's nothing inherently dangerous about it, any moreso than any other multitool that Gerber makes? Interesting...
(Solid tool, it's survived brutal treatment. But, 4/5 for not having upgraded to carbide cutter jaws yet. Come on, guys! There's room...)
First day of having this model and have already put everything to use except the can opener. Still trying to wear the new off so the pliers open easier.
My son give me this tool as a gift some months ago and LOVE the tool! My first exposure to GERBER's "para-tools", I had the early models, and loved them as well.
i never purchased this but my cousin was issued this multi plier while he was in Afghanistan and when he came back, he has passed it down to me and still good condition. it comes in handy.
Tools built to military specifications are almost guaranteed to be badass. But Gerber’s 600 – DET multi-plier is more than just a milspec pair of pliers. It’s also an explosive addition to our Month of Badass Gadgets celebration. Can you blow something up with your pliers? Didn’t think so.
Multi-tools are great. You can have pliers, scissors, screwdrivers, a few blades and even a ruler all in one hand whenever you need it. But what happens, MacGuyver, when you run across a bomb that needs diffusing or you need to create one to deal with some baddies. How are you gonna sever the yellow wire or crimp those blasting caps with your average, run-of-the-mill multi-tool? If you had the Gerber Multi-Plier 600 DET that wouldn’t be an issue because those features are built-in. Along with the normal multi-tool features, and the explosive features, the DET also has opens with one hand and is decked out in a non-reflective black finish for stealth work. Is it overkill? Of course, but that’s why it’s so awesome.
