I got this knife as an every day carry back in highschool (mid 20's now) and its the most trusted knife Ive owned. I got a different knife by Smith and Wesson and it gave out so soon that Im back to this one. Its survived a motorcycle wreck without any damage other than a loss of the thumb stud so the blade is a little wiggly when opened... but just brace with a thumb or index finger and its still super awesome.
The screw that holds the blade to the handle has come loose and it seems as though somehow the threads have been stripped because I can't tighten it up. I've only owned the knife for half a year so I'm really not all that impressed with this specific knife even though I've always believed in this brand.
Can't beat this knife for only 23 bucks it's lasted me a few years and I plan to buy more
I didn't realize how much I loved this knife until I lost it. I used it almost daily for just about anything you can think. The knife was extremely durable. What I ended up loving the most about the knife was it's light weight but sturdy frame. I could take it on jogs and light weight backpacking trips because of its weight. It fits easy into the pocket and you can't even tell it's there. Most knifes are bulky or the opening mechanisms catch on the pocket, but not the evo. When I searched for an alternative I couldn't find an anything close.
It stays sharp does not chip and is very light weight. I recommend this knife to anybody
Bought knife in 2010 the knife has great edge retention very durable perfect edc And a great camping knife I droped the knife onto concrete once and bent the tip of the blade but sharpened it good and it was good as new.it is now 2014 and I figure I have used the knife about 500+ times and only had to sharpen it about 5 times
Have had this knife for about 2 months now. It has become one of the best knifes I own for everyday use. I don't understand why some reviews are having issues with the clip. Yeah, it's tight out of the box, but really, come guys you should know how to fix it. All you gotta do is pull it out a little bit with your fingers and you are good to go. Also, not sure what other reviews are talking about with the blade being hard to pull out. My knife, I just flick it with my wrist and "bam" it's out and ready for anything I put in front of it!!!
I've owned and carried this knife everyday for the past six years and use it often. It's extremely reliable even after all the abuse I've given it. I absolutely recommend this knife.
This knife is fairly decent, but it breaks way too easily. The screws hardly hold out, and there will be lateral motion when the blade is extended after a couple months use. It "wiggles". Love the design and look of it though.
fantastic absolutely fantastic
this is my second gerber product
and it is awesome!!!!!!!!
Absolutely the best, most convenient knife I've ever owned. Great for every day use.
I have owned this knife for about 6 months and have carried it daily. I have learned that it will hold and edge quite well (for 440) and is quite durable (for 440). It does work for most standard tasks such as cutting wire or shredding paper. The tip on the blade is extremely durable and has handled stabbing, dropping, etc. The blade is very stiff out of the box which makes the flipper almost obsolete. But the handle makes up for that. It is the toughest aluminum handle I have ever had and is extremely lightweight. The most noticeable flaw in this knife is the fact that it is definitely not a tactical knife like the website states. It is for EDC purposes ONLY. I cannot stretch that enough. Other than that I rate this 4/5 stars. Amazing knife, keep selling this gerber.
This knife is awesome! I have beat the crap out of this knife and its still awesome! I highly recommend this knife!
this is a cheep knife and I got it at academy I lost it in my yard and axidently hit it with the lawn mower and broke off the tip and I took my grinder and put a new tip on it and stroped it. the knife is better as a clip point and looks better to. then I lost it under a tree and found it two years later and it was in texas sun rain snow ice hail tornado sand so when I found it I washed it off with water and smooth as ice when I open it it was still sharp but iy is varry off centerbecause I batoned 2/4s with it but man its the best knife on earth ( to me ) love you Gerber
This knife was almost razor sharp out of the package, but the blade dulled fairly quickly and I don't recall even putting it into very hard use. I resharpened it to a good edge, but I'm not sure how long it will take before it will dull down again. It's hard to access the thumb stud for a left handed person due to the thumb stud not sticking out much at all on the side with the clip. That doesn't matter much because I use the flipper which gets the blade out very fast and easily. The handle is durable, but slippery (only a problem if your hands are cold). I once I tried to pull it out of my pocket and it just flew out of my hand because the handle was slick and my hands were cold. The clip is tight and it's only a little hard to pull it out of my pocket, but it doesn't rip my pant pockets, so that's okay for me. You can't change the position of the clip to be upside down or on the other side, but I don't mind that, neither. After a few weeks of use, there isn't any movement in the blade, which is good. Overall good knife, but it could have some improvements. It was hard to decide to either give it three or four stars, just saying that.
Great knife for the price. I use this when I go to the range or when I need to cut anything.
This is a great knife. I've been carrying one of these long enough to wear most of the black off of the handle. I like this knife so much, I have two spares, just in case I lose the one I carry. It's just the right size, strong and durable.
In day to day use blade dulls down quickly. Also Blade lock gives out easliy.
amazing great quality great price
I bought this knife as an everyday carry for work. As with other Gerber knives I've owned, the blade and edge are excellent quality; it is super sharp and holds an edge very well. I will agree that the flipper is not very easy to operate and I think the stud is a little to close to the handle. Also, the pocket clip on mine is SO tight that if I can manage to get it onto a pocket, it almost tears holes in my pants trying to remove it.
OMG i loe this knife i got this as a replacement of my fast draw and i love this thing i carry it everywhere with me and it is razor sharp i recomend this to everyone. Its a great knife and i dont see why its so cheap its a total buy
Right out of the box, the sharpness of the blade felt weird. Upon further inspection, I realized that the sharpening was messed up. On the bottom of the fine edge, it was sharpened all the way to the left and at the tip, it was sharpened way to the right. The knife handle could use some work as well, because its quite slippery. The flipper doesn't work very good either. It takes a very hard flick of the wrist for it to open all the way. The overall design of knife is a good idea, but the quality just isn't there
i got this knife from a cabelas store in virginia while on vacation. i used it daily and especially camping for a year and a half, until my friend lost it on the klondike. i loved this knife and reccomend it to any camper, boy scout, or really anyone.
I bought this knife less than a month ago. within a day of taking it out of the package the thumb stud began to come unscrewed. Now, they are lost somewhere in the woods of west Oklahoma.
I found this knife on the ground in a parking lot 4 years ago. I loved it so much I went ahead and bought the full sized fine-edge version. I clipped on a small S-Biner and clipped it to my climbing harness when I was a climbing instructor. I still use it today and occasionally carry it even though I have the bigger one. for being free, I have absolutely no complaints about it, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a smaller EDC knife.
Not too much knife, not too little. Good for EDC, even in New York City. Perfect for Army schools that limit you to
This is becoming my favorite Gerber knife to just hang on to. Feels very good in your hand. Flips open very easily with the thumb stud. It is on my desk to open all mail, packages, and whatever I need to cut in the office.
Very good knife.
I cary this around with me everyday because of the compact size and have had it for over a year and has barly dulled, a little paint off the blade from normal use, but over a year and love it!
I've owned this knife for a few weeks now and I have very few negative things to say about it. It could be a bit sharper out of the package, but overall I put it through its paces as an everyday carry and it has yet to let me down. Clearly you wouldn't use this in a survival/camping situation, but for everyday use, I would highly recommend it.
This knife is very good because it is lighwheght easy to use and fast-opening. I recomed it for back-packing and every day carry. the only thing is that it could be a little sharper out of the box.
i got this knife last year and it was great for a while. i used it as my EDC knife and it saw a fair bit of action. one day i was camping and i stabbed it into my cutting board but it fell out as soon as i let go and the tip was bent a decent amount. later my belt clip slowly fell off. its a good knife for in the car or a home-utility knife, but i wouldn't recommend it for every day carry.
Great knife! I carry this with me all the time, and I have nothing negative to say about it. I love Gerber products.
