EVO Jr. - Fine Edge
Built with the same lightweight anodized aluminum handle, the Junior is a scaled-down version of the EVO that weighs in at less than two ounces. The fine-edge blade is constructed of stainless steel and is coated with titanium nitride for added corrosion resistance. There's a thumb stud for easy one-handed opening, and a liner lock and finger guard for additional safety. It’s a pocket-sized take on a traditional straight spine knife.
- Blade Length: 2.75"
- Closed Length: 3.6"
- Overall Length: 6.35"
- Weight: 1.80 oz.
- Handle: Aluminum
- Finger flip opening
- Titanium nitrade-coated blade
- Anodized aluminum cut-out handle
I purchased this knife from AAFES as a cheap utility / duty knife and overall I like the blade, but the handle needs some serious attention. The lightening cuts in the aluminum are too sharp and snag on everything and pulling the knife out of your pocket is a pain and will destroy your pocket.
Gerber only NEEDS to bevel the edges and this and its bigger brother would be a 5 star knife for the price.
I had a CRKT M16-10Z ,but, lost it, so I bought
Evo Jr. as a replacement. Used it at work for
a year or so, really tough, scary sharp. I gave
it to my teenage daughter, she loves it, calls
it her baby!
I have owned an older model of this night for almost a decade now. I have used it on a dayly basis at work and it is constantly used. This knife is all it says it is. And when kept sharpened properly it cuts threw just about anything with ease. I have read some reviews that say the knives get dull. Well yes any knife that is used gets dull that's why you have to sharpen them. and I have to say that my Gerber stays sharper longer than any other knife I use. But unfortunately I recently lost my Gerber at work and I will definitely be purchasing another
very good knife except it doesn't stay centered in the handle like its suppose to but what do you expect for twenty dollars. but very good other than that, VERY IMPRESSED ON EVERYTHING ELSE.
I've had this knife for a while now, the deep carry clip is absolutely wonderful. I like the slim profile in your pocket, or any where you decide to put it. Great liner lock never found it to fail or attempt to fail, but it is a little hard to sharpen but stays sharp for a while. Great EDC for EVERYTHING, includig opening paint cans LOL. I don't know about the newer version thats above in the picture since I had the older symbol but it's great for $20 go for it for your kid or for EDC. But be careful on the clip screw I had to modify mine after a while because it stripped out the scew and I had to use one off an old knife that broke, bit thread lock it or a little clear nail polish and it will stay strong forever if you do that right away. GREAT OVER ALL
I thought this was a great little knife right out of the box!! It was small enough to not get in the way of anything for daily carry and it is a sharp little guy. Over all I would have gotten the tanto blade one but that's just me.
Great knife, I got this for christmas and I must say I told my self that this is going to be my new daily knife,
Purchased this knife today (28-02-2013)...
So far I have found the "one hand opening" stiff. I suspect that that will loosen up with time. I am also a little wary of the locking mechanism. I am a little concerned with blade slip under stress. Having a blade slip and close under stress is a real problem. The pocket clip catches a bit on the trim stitching of my front pocket, therefore removal is not smooth. All of these things make it difficult to bring it quickly into play. The blade metal 7Cr17Mov I have no experience with. It is apparently a Chinese version if 440. Supposed to have a good blend of corrosion resistance and edge holding. If it acts like 440c, I'll be happy. However said all of this; I still bought it based on my long trust of the Gerber product. As with all of these issues, time will tell. If all of my predictions come true, and I suspect hey will, I'll be very happy.
I just got this knife today an i have to admit that i was surprised how small it is. but that's my fault because i didn't look at the length of the knife at all. a good pocket knife overall. nice locking blade and everything.
its a great blade but a little hard to sharpen but for work and self defence its a great knife non the less
Really a wonderful knife! Fun, light, lightning fast opening, and keeps an edge! Great for just keeping in your pocket working around the house or outside for easy tasks. Looks pretty too! :)
I have one and it is pretty sweet. When you flip it out you feel safe and strong! But i am 14 so if I was older this knife would be bad.
I cannot wait to get this knife. Looks pretty awesome!
use it for fishing it cuts great and dose not dull its also very sturdy I dropped it and still works fine. I recommend this knife to anyone
cannot wait to get mine!
this is the best knife i have ever had and i probably use it daily. its stays very sharp and does not dull easily. say right with me where ever i go because the clip is so sturdy. thank you gerber!
I have had this for a couple of years, and I have never lost it or misplaced it. It is small and lightweight, and with its flip-to-cover mechanism, it makes a perfect pocket knife!
Love it, well done Gerber. Highly recommended.
This is by far the best knife i have ever owned. I have had this knife for years. Carried so much the finish wore off the handle in a few places. Has the best pocket clip EVER, never lost it, like i have with much more expensive knives. I use this knife for everything almost every day at work as a firefighter/emt. This is the tool I carry EVERYWHERE on and off duty.
Awesome job Gerber, awesome job.
This knife is great. It is way way better than leatherman or S
Just got one as a present. The spring was a little stiff at the start, but loosened quite quickly. It's been working very nicely, small and light, with good quality and a nice blade. Highly recommended.
