Knife handles scratch easily, blade dulls quickly. Lockup is loose, and blade does not stay in handle when closed.

Love this knife a lot. When mine arrived, it was really sharp all over the blade and both of the points were pretty sharp as well. It's a sturdy knife, the blade is kind of thick, which I like a lot. It's awesome to flick this thing open for the first time. It locks right into place and it feels solid while it's open. Love the grip, too. The handle does scratch pretty easily, though, but that isn't much of a setback.

Great knife I have no bad things to say exept one word of advise don't drop it even the slightest drop and the blade won't lock and will be loose when the blade is open. Other than that great knife I've had mine for 2 years and still works like magic

4 Solid Knife Jarrod - OCT 11, 2012

I'm not sure what other people are using this knife for, but unless you're subjecting this blade to improper use it should work just fine. I've had mine for 2 years and it's worked like a champ. The only thing that it has needed was a good tightening of the screws once a month; nothing to complain about.

1 Horrible Ben - JUL 25, 2012

I just sent my second Answer FAST XL back to Gerber because the knife went bad again. It dulls too quickly, the thumbstuds came off, the side plates were coming off, the locking mechanism didn't actually keep the blade locked down inside the handle the blade literally almost stabbed me in the leg when i sat down one day, and the blade itself was extremely loose. I recommend that NO ONE buy this knife you'll be severely disappointed if you do.

it is really relible and ive used it for 5 years and havent had a problem

1 Horrible quality Brandon - JUL 1, 2012

Do not buy this knife. I had it for 2 weeks and the blade bent on me,dulled out, and the screws for the belt clip were already striped. Definately needs a sharper blade and something stronger.

1 Poor Quality Zane - APR 28, 2012

Don't get this knife. The blade can't hold a sharp edge and the blade lock wears out after a year. Unless you don't mind slicing your fingers up whenever you use it, don't get it.

3 Unimpressed Dan Saliken - APR 4, 2012

Bought it three weeks ago. The belt clip broke off fourth time I wore it. Luckily did not lose knife. Like the serrations. Not that impressed with quality of my first purchase.

2 Your Title Knife knuts - FEB 1, 2012

I wouldn't recommend this knife for serious user.

1. The blade steel is too soft. Does not hold an edge at all. Can't be use for serious tactical/ defense situation.

2. When blade open and close too many times the blade would go dull without even using it. Took me a while to figure out why before I saw the edge touches the inside handle when folded. Bad design.

Even thou this piece is ver nice looking and the grip is not bad, but I would not recommend it to my friends and general knife community. It is just not a serious knife.

2 UN Navy Eric Taylor - NOV 5, 2011

Great knife except for the clip which pops off very easily. Once the clip pops off, the screws get stripped and won't bite enough to keep the clip in place. I've had to send my first knife back and the second one fell apart within a couple of months as

5 Mr. Slava - OCT 24, 2011

I bought this knife from Gerber via Amazon (in Canada).
I'm extremely pleased with the quality of build, the handle is phenomenal, looks better then on the picture and feel extremely sturdy. The grip is perfect. The only thing, the FAST system doesn't sea

5 Writer for Knives Illustrated Clint Thompson - AUG 29, 2011

The Answer XL is an excellent folding knife. With its F.A.S.T. opening system and Tanto Blade makes it a top contender for a defense-offensive knife. I like the blade locking system over most all other production knife locking systems.

4 .. Lucas - AUG 19, 2011

I want a knife like this, Tanto but without serrations

2 Your Title Brian - AUG 18, 2011

Wish it came with a plain blade. The serrations are a pain in the butt
