eFECT Military Maintenance Tool
Introduced in 2008 at the Association of the United States Army convention (AUSA), the eFECT Weapons Tool was created for the distinct purpose of cleaning and maintaining an AR15 / M16 / M4 variant firearm. Developed with direct input and feedback from US Military personal deployed globally, the eFECT incorporates components that make field cleaning faster and more precise. It's compatible and interchangeable with the Otis cleaning components such as brushes, scrapers, picks and rods. At the range or on patrol, the eFECT is still a go-to weapons maintenance tool for the rifleman.

The first time I used this at range qual I let several Soldiers use it to mechanically zero their weapons' front sight. The teeth broke before the second finished. They were being very gentle with it. I in no way expected the teeth to break. I wouldn't spend the money again.
Very Functional tool however the teeth continue to break on the front sight. Gerber has been very helpful in replacing them though.
Love this tool. Very well made. I was actually surprised when I found it cheaper on this website than other websites I have looked on.
I've been using this tool for a while and I've not had the teeth on the forward site tool break. Maybe I've just been lucky, but I'd suggest putting a little bit of CLP (lubricate) on the front site prior to adjustments anyway. It should make the adjustments easier and maybe save the teeth on the tool as well.
I bought the eFect tool prior to going to a Company Range Qualification Day, to better assist my junior Soldiers in Zeroing their weapons, after adjusting the Front Sight Post on just one weapon, the teeth from the "castl key" front sight post-adjuster broke off. Very dissatisfied.
I purchased one of these tools to speed up the adjustments for other soldiers on the zero range, to help them focus on their shooting and not how they are going to adjust their weapon. The first time I went to adjust a front site, the pins broke off when turning the front sight. The tangs were not long enough to dis-engage the front sight for moving the post up or down. The other parts of the tool work great and provide great functions.
I purchased a eFECT at a PX at my camp and the first time I tried to set my front site the tool failed and the teeth broke off.
I was not happy about the $82.00 dollars that I lost for a failed tool.
Love the tool and how it is interchangeable with Otis tools since they're standard issue. Keeping the weapons cleaning packed and the tools you need quickly on hand on the EFECT is nice. Same issue as a previous comment though, I snapped all the teeth off the front sight tool the first day I used it within the first three magazines of Zero. I wasn't abusing it either, I paid attention to line everything up and not force the front sight around and they still all broke off. Other than that I love the tool and the fact it fits into the butt of the M16 especially since our unit switched back to them from the M4. Good tool, I'd buy it again.
This tool is awesome! All of the builders within our company were issued these for use at their stations. I am a little confused as to why it says credentials needed to purchase this tool when it should be made available to the civilian public so that people like my self can purchase one and have it sent to their house. After all, the AR-15/M4 weapon system is immensely popular amongst today's shooting public. Our marketing department found last year that the number of AR-15/M4's in the public hands (not military or LEOs) is equal to 3 Rifles per person living in America! This is an amazing number and we'd love to get it to 20 Rifles per person in the next two years...but for statistics like this to grow the public needs access to handy tools such as this one made by the greatest Outdoor Knife/Tool company in the USA - Gerber Legendary Blades. Thanks Gerber!
I love this tool, but the teeth on the sight adjustment tool are a little flimsy. All the teeth on the A1 side got broken off and i'm down to only one tooth on the forward sight tool.
I was given one of these to field test. Love it, worked on all or our weapon systems. Have to guard it, the Infantry guys are always looking to steal it.
Looks like a very handy tool. I plan on purchasing one in the near future. I would love to find a multi tool that can make adjustments on the front sight post for M16/M4, M249, and the M240B.
used this product last year at IWQ worked great didn't have to wait on everyone else
