Bear Grylls Sliding Saw
This is your tool for small brush, tree branches and limbs. The crosscut teeth design cuts on both the forward and backward stroke while the rugged, rubberized handle ensures that you won’t loose your grip. The locking six inch blade retracts into the handle when not in use. When clearing a path, building a shelter or collecting firewood, the sliding saw works quickly and efficiently, in both wet and muddy conditions.

I love the design, but the blade is terrible. It bent in half the first time I used it. It's way too thin and flimsy. It's a shame because everything else is great.
The blade is very flimsy with no strength. You cannot see the blade in the packaging because it is retracted into the handle. The saw is a black mark to the Bear Grylls name. Do not buy.
Was using this to cut a tree branch and it bent so much that the saw became unusuable.
This is a fine saw for clearing up to 6 inch limbs in the 200 miles of trail I manage. Treat it with respect and it will serve you well!
Cuts through small branches no problem and even slightly thicker ones with ease. Cut through a 5"fence post with some struggle. Blade is flimsy thus you have to be careful while using it and the locking mechanism does need some work. But then again this isnt meant for lumberjacks
I bought two of these saws because I own other Gerber knives and saws and have tremendous results with your products however the first saw out of the packages the saw blade broke near the handle while cutting a limb maybe an in in diameter. The other saw probably will go back to the retailer where purchased. Very disappointed with this product.
The second time I used this saw the blade snapped in half. Total garbage!
The blade on this saw bent on the 3rd branch i cut. I bought this at Wal-mart and returned it and got a 3$ saw that holds up better. This is a perfect example of an overpriced product that uses a Name to sell it. I will never buy another Bear Grylls product.
Can cut any small branches or trees with a very good grip to it. Saw's serrations are very sharp and tough, slides into handle very nicely. Bigger than I thought, just a great overall portable saw!
I love it and im always cutting branches and it works like magic!
Awesome on small branches, however sawing som firewood and it broke it was around 6 inches thick though so its great just not for large stuff
I like it, once you start it's cuts great. However the handle feels a tad light. I like that they included lashing holes. Overall it is my first compact saw but I'm impressed. I always choose gerber
This is one bear grylls product that I just didn't like as much as the others. I have tested so many bear grylls products and they were awesome. When I saw this one, I thought it would be as good as the rest. But when I tested it in the field, I was wrong. It was good for sawing small branches. I tried sawing down a small tree and it just broke. It wasn't made well, and didn't hold up to my standards. I highly recommend for beginners, but not for serious survival.
I don't even have this but one day I will have every bear grylls thing moohahaha.
Just saw this at wal mart the other day and had to get it. pretty cool nice and light and cuts like butter.the locking mech works fine. A little more $$$ than most camping saws and not realy a survival tool as much as a luxury but for camping i think it will be awsome, and when not camping will stay in mu suzuki samurai's clove box in case i need it...all in all another great gerber product from a great line!
