Axe - Extra Large
Gerber axes, like all of our products, are built with an eye to hurdling trouble. Whether it’s for camping, on a work site for hard labor, or puttering in the backyard, the Axe XL is light in the handle and tough in the blade, serving its owner with the excellence that modern technology and good steel have combined to deliver.
SWING WITH CONFIDENCE
One of the benefits of the Axe XL is its solid, easy swing. Coupled with a super-sharp blade made of hardened forged steel possessing excellent edge retention, this axe will chop up to three times deeper than average and provide for greater productivity, which spells out savings in time, effort, and strain on the body of its operator. The tactile grip of the nylon handle contributes to relief of body strain, too, as well as improved control during each swing.
KEEPING AN EDGE WITH EASE
Beyond the task of tree felling, the Axe XL, given its light heft and ultra-sharp edge, works equally well to delimb branches and clear brush. Coated with a low-friction surface, the blade of this axe slices through wood without sticking, while its well-engineered head splits wood cleanly. Built to last, the Axe XL has a tough glass-filled nylon handle and a stainless steel blade that is hardened and forged, equating to edge retention that well outpaces traditional axe blades.

This is a great axe. It keeps its edge pretty well also.
I wish the handle was longer though in order to get more power.
Good for just being outdoors with though not heavy enough to cut down huge trees.Good around the campground to split wood(though there are better options if you have splitting in mind.)
Does a great job absorbing energy and the hand grip at the end is very nice to have.
Just wanted to point out that this is exactly the same as the Fiskars 23 inch chopping axe, it says so right on thee handle!!
The only difference is that the fiskars is $10 cheaper.
This Axe is too light to drive deep enough to enable the felling of a standing pine! It is very light weight and good for light transfers of gear deep into the forests but it's weight prevents effective utility felling growth without the use of fuel powered chain saws!
this thing is great. light and sharp and everything an axe should be.
