Back Paxe II

Gerber axes, like all of our products, are built with an eye to hurdling trouble. Taken along on a camping trip, or applied for use in the yard, the Axe Back Paxe II is light in the handle and tough in the blade, serving its owner with the excellence that modern technology and good steel have combined to deliver.

A portable, compact axe that travels well in the kit of hikers and outdoor aficionados, the Axe Back Paxe II combines light heft and an ultra-sharp blade known for its edge retention. Its size makes it ideal for chopping kindling, along with splitting small logs. Coated in a low-friction surface, the hardened forged steel blade of this axe slices through wood at a depth that is three times greater than average, allowing for faster chopping and maximum overall performance efficiency. The coated surface also prevents the blade from sticking in the wood, and its high-capacity potential prevents body strain.

Possessing a shock absorbing handle that helps in prevention of overstrike injury, the Axe Back Paxe II offers great grip and superior hand control. Balanced perfectly for exertion-to-weight ratio, this lithe little axe swings with a solid, easy feel. Its hardened forged steel blade, in conjunction with the unique grind technique engineered for a sharper edge, will make sharp, clean cuts for far longer than average, making this an intuitive kit axe for camping and beyond.

5 hunter bh - AUG 26, 2013

iv got several larger gerber axes and love um and will buy one of these when they offer a nylon sheath . GERBER PLEASE GO BACK TO NYLON !!!

3 Sad but satisfied Matt - AUG 5, 2013

I just need the sheath. As great as the plastic works, I need the more versatile nylon. Still a great axe.

Good quality compact pack axe for chopping for firewood. However it needs a sheath instead of the molded plastic. Also if would be a lot more useful if the reverse of the axe head were useable as a tent stake hammer.

5 awsome axe mysterious - MAY 17, 2013

it was great in the field and i will be buying another one in the future

4 pacific hunter WJD - APR 5, 2013

Perfect stow-able axe. Excellent tool for turning big game into more portable pieces. Should still come with a belt-type sheath and not the dumb plastic sheath thing.

Been looking for one of these with a nylon sheath.

1 Patriot Steve - JAN 10, 2013

No more (beltable) nylon sheaths = no more business!

1 Hunter Royal Mowery - OCT 31, 2012

Used my cousin's and loved it. Won't buy one though due to the sheath. Nylon and on the belt is mandatory!

5 Photographer Occassional Expeditioner - OCT 7, 2012

Good sturdy blade.Great butt for driving tent pegs and stakes. Light, comfortable haft.

1 Your Title Mighty MO - JUL 17, 2012

I won't by another Gerber axe unless it comes with a cloth sheath. The plastic sheaths are next to worthless.

3 CEO-Lifeline Connections Randy Allen - JUN 26, 2012

This is the best camp axe bar none. However, the new plastic shealth does not compare to the nylon sheath that you once offered. Many of us need to be able to wear the sheath on our belt loop and the new molded plastic sucks in this application.
