This tool is NOT made for First Responders, Medics, etc. There are purpose built tools for those of us that need such a tool and will use it often, so, quit bashing it for not being that.
This tool is made for self rescue/extraction and it excels at that. Simply cut a seat belt and possibly shatter a window. For what it is, it's great. I do wish the clip was a bit wider but it's not a deal breaker. Minus one star for that though.
Shame all these 4 and 5 star reviews on the various color versions are from folks who think it looks cool, ie, never used it, just got it, use it for unintended purpose (MREs and opening beer)...
The case design is awful for first responders and a pain in the butt to attach. Would give it no stars if I could
best seat belt cutter ive used cuts threw pants and boots .
site sucks the thing i would like to get but CREDENTIALS REQUIRED LOL, think that kinda stupid that you put it on stuff like multi tool and knives but not on belt cutter and other crap u just want to get rid of .................
Just got issued this piece of kit, haven't used this for its real purpose yet (hopefully never), but this works great for small tasks when working with para-cord and gun tape.... it also does a good job at opening beer bottles.
I had the chance to check this out at the supply(won't be issued til later in the month) and While it has excellent Vehicle extraction potential(pray to whatever you hold dear that you don't need it) I can also see that I may need to repurpose it in the fall for a back up gut hook on my deer hunt. Put a Blaze Orange handle on this thing for hunters... You'll make a mint.
I happened to come across this tool via a friend. It is the coolest thing ever. It has been said that all great ideas are simple, and Gerber has exemplified that and added superior engineering and material quality. Way to go, guys!!
