I've had mine for a little over 2 and a half years and it's been good to me. Although I've put it through hell by never taking the time to sharpen the blade, the edge was very durable.

Great knife paid nothing i found it at a bus stop and i resold it for 60$ after owning it for a year and it was still sharp and solid i like that the little screws dont come lose and fall out like most knifes that get well used and i like that the blade has no side wiggle and the blade lock works great nothing worse than a blade lock that hardly works always fun when the blade closes on your fingers when u go to stab hard surfaces never had this problem with the gerber dmf folder tanto serrated knife 10 outta 10 even tho it only goes to 5stars

I bought this knife two years ago and the most disappointing thing about it is that I no longer have it! I work in law enforcement and it has disappeared while on duty and I am currently looking to get another.

I love the handle and the finger grooves. The locking mechanism and striking plate on the butt are also a plus. My only complaint is that the finish on the blade wore off a little quicker than I would have expected. Other than that, I really put this knife through its paces and it never disappointed.

I got this for Christmas from the wife and I love it. Other than a bulky handle it's a great rugged knife. Gerber could make the handle a little more low profile as it's almost 1.5 times the size of the blade. I am an avid outdoorsman and work for an armed security firm I use/carry a knife daily so I know how to critique them and put them to use.

My all around camping knife. Used mine for 2 years and no issues.
A medium to large size, somewhat large in a pants pocket.

I got this folder on August 9 of '13 and since that day, this little guy has been the hardest working, day-to-day "sidearm" (tool) on the farm. Just YESTERDAY prying open a wooden box, the tip of my knife broke off. I slipped it back out of the box and was extremely surprised. Maybe the tip caught a nail. My favourite folder hasn't necessarily been ruined but it is now an actual "drop point". Is this something I could send in to be fixed ? I don't want to have to stop using this now pointless (no pun intended) blade and pick up BG's Para cord fixed. It's almost like taking the fangs off a diamondback and leaving the venom.

I bought this knife to replace a lost Buck knife I'd had for years. I was reluctant at first (it looks a little weird to me) but the salesman sold me on the versatility and how well it fits my hand. I particularly like being able to swing the blade open with one hand; you have to pull back on the blade lock, but it works smoothly with a satisfying click that lets you know the blade is open without having to look at it. Four and a half stars; this knife will never win any beauty contests, but it works well and feels solid.

I got this knife because I wanted something a little bigger than my F.A.S.T. Draw. When I recieved it I was amazed how beautiful it was. It came increadible sharp out of the box. It was so sharp that a couple days after I got it, I cut my self really bad on my thumb. ALmost down to the bone. Yet again I am happy with my Gerber.

Fantastic knife, holds comfortably in either my left of right, simple and smooth to open one handed. Good solid construction for any job and some heft so that you know that you have it on you. Liked the first one so much I bought a second.

Good knife could be great but lacks a couple small things. Ratio of blade to handle could be much better 5" handle with only 3.5" blade why? Weight is on the heavy side mill out the liners or follow cold steel and do just G10. Grind was inconsistent lacking that firm straight edge you want in a tanto blade. Lock up is very strong mechanism is not only easy to use but fun. Handle is very comfortable even in hard use. Pocket clip could be a little deeper but love the recesses in the handle (retention is excellent). Wish the blade steel was more prominent s30v is great if that's what this is but I can't find a definitive spec sheet.

  • |BY: Security , Absolutely incredible

I don't understand how some of the reviews say they've broken their locks within an hour of opening and closing it. I've only had it a week and it has done many wonders thus far. The tanto blade is incredible for cutting into even meat. I was lucky to have boughten it when I did as I witnessed a roll over and made great use of the pommel glass smasher. Took no effort to break the window and help the man that was stuck in his seat belt. The serrations had NO trouble quickly ripping into the fabric to cut him out. When the police and ambulance finally arrived, I literally told them to thank the knife. Getting him out and comfortable would have been rather tasking otherwise. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I love this knife. I'm a big guy and this knife fit my hands perfectly. The blade is sharp and has held its edge thus far. the only issue i have had so far is that I keep the knife in my back pocket and the clip caught my truck seat and snapped. But other then the bad luck with that Excellent knife, Highly recommended!

I bought this knife, took it out to the car and cut it out of the packaging with my Mini Swagger. Nice blade, the handle grip is nice and tactile. Felt good in my hand. But when I pressed the wedge lock button it broke apart and crumbled into my lap. Took it back into the store and got my money back. I am so disappointed because I researched this knife for several weeks before deciding to get it.

I absolutely love this knife, the weight to it , the more than comfterbale handel and the sharp blade with the half serrated, i would reccomnend this knife to anyone. However its only plastic peice(the safety stones) have broken within the first week of its purchase.

  • |BY: PV2 , REGRETS...

..I have none purchasing this item, the only regret I had was not securing this piece to my person before scouting out the woods. This bad boy of a knife, which is also my main EDC, fell off during a 4WD ride. This knife will tackle anything anywhere. One time I had to cut boat line during the summer, the serrations were outstanding for the job! Another time during camping I used this Gerber model to fashion tinder off a branch, man I miss my knife.

  • |BY: Nick , Wedge Lock Split

I purchased this knife through Amazon because it looked rugged and I like the Tanto blade design. Also, it was a Gerber. Unfortunately, the moment I removed the knife from the plastic packaging and attempted to engage the Wedge Lock, it split in half and broke off from the center screw. I was surprised given the company's reputation for quality knives. Of course I returned the knife to Amazon and I will be cautious in purchasing another knife from Gerber.

Bought this knife for work. Looked durable. It's not!! One of the wedge lock handles broke within an hour!! Played with it opening and closing it... then after a bit the wedge lock handle broke. I expected better materials from Gerber. I will just stick to my 06 Auto for work.

  • |BY: J.O'B. , As Good As It Looks

And man does it look beautiful. The blade came literally razor-sharp, and after a couple months of cuttin' stuff, the edge is still just as sharp as it came. The tanto blade is good for punching into things, especially fabric. However, I've broken a tanto blade before, so the highly acute tip of this knife makes it so I can't stab into hard surfaces in good conscience. The lock takes some getting used to, but after you get the hang of it it's a rather nice lock. I have yet to try out the glass breaker. All-in-all a marvelous knife. Highly recommended.

I've had this knife now for about 6 months. I use it for EDC and it works out very well; the grip and blade is strong and it feels great. I love how it's not linear lock, but has a 2-switch for unlocking. The clip doesn't really serve a purpose; kinda hard to hitch this tactical to your belt.

Though one thing I would like to say personally to Gerber, is to please make an option of the DMF w/out the "partial serrated edge"..would look and operate much better..
