Fully automatic and ready for anything, this knife has a premium design that sets it apart. With a corrosion resistant S30V steel tanto blade anchored by a oversize blade release button, a striking pommel, and a lanyard hole - you are never unprepared.
We've reduced the weight of our best-selling 06 Auto with the addition of G10 handles. The S30V steel blade offers superior edge retention and corrosion resistance. This fully automatic knife is easy to grip and has a pommel designed as a strike point for emergency egress. The large lanyard hole allows for 550 cord or webbing. Proudly made in U.S.A.
I was issued an 06 ten years ago on my second trip to the Raq. I literally beat the finish right off of that thing. I carried it for several years before someone stole it from me on a jobsite. I loved that knife, wish I still had it. I dropped it off a 25ft ladder one time and it landed on the concrete hitting glass breaker first, it broke a 4x4 section of concrete... No exaggeration, cracked it from corner to corner.
Heavy, durable, holds an edge sharper than Chuck Norris' karate chop. Get you one.
I love love love this knife it's always there when needed and always takes care of any job I need it for.
This is till this day my favorite knife of all time. Sharp, heavy, durable, and time tested. Buying another because my first one is missing.
I've owned one for several years, great knife. Nice heavy weight. Dependable. Holds an edge. Taken this long for the spring to start to wear out.
I've had this knife for 8 years now, and it is still my favorite to carry with me.
Both the '06 Auto & the '06 F.A.S.T. are incredibly dynamic knives; some of the deadliest weapons in the proper hands. I've owned four (4) of each. My wife & son carry the F.A.S.T. - as do I, now . You've saved my life countless times since Dec '89. Thank You, Gerber!
I've not got the chance to own one yet but I give it five stars cause it looks like an up dated version of my dmf assisted open knife I use everyday and it's tough as nails and any Gerber knife is worth it's weight in gold.
My unit gave us a bunch of these my second tour. It is just about the heaviest-duty knife I've ever had the pleasure to own. The safety is a nice feature, because the spring on this thing will cause it to kick when you press the switch. It is most definitely an excellent tool and weapon.
I have owned the 06 Fast version of this knife of which is made of the 440 steel for 2 years. I loved the knife so much as my daily tool that I have decided to pull the trigger on this version. The design and use is solid, the improvement in steel will be very welcomed. The knife has proven itself again and again for every use we put a knife through. I have never had a knife last me more than 8 months to a year until this beauty came along. Easily the best knife I have ever owned.
Awesome piece of gear. Simply the finest hard use auto made at any reasonable/enlisted man's price-range. Perhaps Gerber's finest hour so far? Too bad they don't make the LMF II in CPMS30V.......
Just received this knife after a brief backorder. Well worth the wait... Great blade, mechanism and hand feel. Balanced well for single hand deployment and use. It's going into immediate service to replace my old go-to Gerber knife.
Was .issued this knife for 09 deployment to Afghanistan. It's big and fairly bulky but very solid. Holds great edge and very positive opening and loved belt clip.
Got blown up on foot and once I regained consciousness I crawled to my partner and tried to cut his truck off him. Unfortunately when I retrieved my Gerber 06 auto it wouldn't open. It was jammed up some how and I never got it open.
I was to far out of it to remember my fixed blade on my plate carrier. So the Gerber failed me in my time of need but in fairness it was pretty extreme.
After my medevac the knife was lost, but I plan to replace it eventually. It was a solid knife and I have fond memories of it in Afghanistan.
Would have been a great if I had still had my original.
Overall I think this is a solid knife for most folks uses.
Got this knife as a award for one of my many deployments. I have run it thru the ringer and has never let me down....Unfortunately, I lost it (or misplaced it) and have been searching for a week. Outdoors, hunting, camping and in 2 different states. I'm trying to find a way to get another....best knife I ever owned!!!!!
Gerber issued a few hundreds of these to my command back in 2008 in Iraq. I still have it to this day as my EDC.
Had one given to me as a gift by a Marine whom i served under in Afghanistan. It was stolen which broke my heart. When this knife was given to me by this Marine it was his way of saying thank you. It has never failed me when i needed it. I would own one again in a heartbeat.
This blade was great and was the best tool for a Marine In country!
I've had this knife with me for 2 sandbox tours and I've never had a issue. through 145+ degree heat, dust storms and countless patrols and range days. I tell all my juniors the 3 things you need with you at all times is a light, a multi tool and THIS knife!
Owned this knife for almost 2 years, lost it in a field training exercise, and at no point did I ever have any issue with it. Bought a Benchmade auto and all it's done is made me miss my 06 Auto. The G10 scales make it so much better than the original.
From Iraq in '08, then home, back to Iraq in '10, to Afghanistan then stolen by the British customs officer because I couldn't have a knife on an international flight, but could have a pistol and an M-4. This is the best knife I have ever used. I would like to replace it.
This knife I actually bought while in Iraq since the unit I was attached to had already blown their toy money...lol. I have had nothing this knife hasn't helped me to do better.
Some are prejudice and demand a knife from that "B" company. Their loss with having this knife. I cannot praise this knife enough...except for the clip.
To whom it may concern:
I am SPC. Penitusi I am in the US Army I have the exact same knife but the screws fell off and I heard that I can send it back to you guy for repair. So can I send the knife to get fixed?
I have had this knife for over a year now and put it through its paces. GREAT KNIFE! This was the first knife I bought with S30V steel and I don't think I could ever own anything without this type of steel again. Gets razor sharp, last a very long time, and is super tough. Very well built knife. My has already survived some hard punishment and still looks...mostly new :). Locks into your hand solid and easy to deploy with gloves on. Can serve as a work horse or a fighting knife if needed. Best knife I have ever owned.
Sharp, good balance, blade opens faster than my older drop point 06 auto with aluminum stocks, lighter too. Good job.
The only thing that would have made things perfect would be shipping via UPS. FEDEX is the worst to deal with around D.C.
Absolutely the best knife I have ever owned. Feels great in your hand and built to last. I used it flying combat missions over Afghanistan, got into dirt, sand, rain, ice, and cut just about everyithing and never failed. Highly recommend.
Got this knife issued to me. It has been through three deployment to Afghanistan and one to Syria. Spring is still strong. I can't find a flaw.
Best knife i have ever bought and used. It is with me every day and there is no job to big or to small for this knife. Keeps a great blade for a long time and is really easy to sharpen with the Downrange sharpener. Perfect combo. There is no other knife available with this quality and effectiveness.
Just like the original 06, but lighter....
Grate Knife! Survived: Afghanistan, Texas oil jobs, -30 degrees to 260 degrees ( I dropped is in a phosphate tank) have had it for years. The glass brake saved a kids life who ran off the road into a small river. best dam knife I have ever owned!
I have had my Tanto in just about every situation possible. It has never failed me. By FARm the BEST knife on the market from ANY company, ANYWHERE. It is a shame though that I am no longer allowed to purchase one since I am no longer on Active Duty. I have worn mine out after years and years of use.
need to have
Exactly what I expected !
This is the best folding knife on the market it has been through a lot with me from Afghanistan to helping do things around the base.
Best Knife I've EVER held in my hand. It functioned perfectly and never failed to operate. Lost it on a mission while in Iraq! Plan to buy another one as soon as I have the money again!
Outstanding knife. Solid mechanics, excellent grib, fits perfectly in your hand. Without a doubt the best performing knife I've ever owned!
Loved this knife lost mine in a fore in Afghanistanwould love to buy another one the military is no lobger giving them out
This knife is hands down my most indispensable tool where ever I go. It has seen literally every environment, cut through more materials than you think a knife is capable of, used as a hammer, screwdriver, pry bar, gun cleaner, and even a fork. Even though the blade is nearly finished, I cannot bring myself to get rid of it.
This knife saved my life on Oct 27 2011 at FOB Shoja, Afghanistan. Thanks Gerber.
One Bad As@ knife! If your looking for a knife that fits a man of the military well look no farther. This knife is rugged big and bad. the oxide coating is just right if you get into mud, snow, or something that is sloppy. No slop very rugged and great for soft tissue or bone. Keep up the great work Gerber!
This was issued to me for Iraq deployment 2010. Not the one with the new G-10 lightweight handles, but the older heavier ones. Great knife that survived some very rough handling to include, as a prying tool, cardboard cutter, cleaning, and has been dropped in sand, dirt, and has had water, MRE residue, and even some blood on it. I still have it. Recommend military folks engrave their name, rank, service on it. This aids in an honest guy recovering and
returning it. This knife will not fail you. Thanks, gerber. I am hoping to get the new G-10 handled one issued to me, as I head off to Afghanistan. :)
The knife is awesome! I love the G10 handles it feels great in your hand. The only thing was that upon arrival I was disappointed the the Gerber logo was the old one I really like the new one.
i was given this on my first duty toIiraq, it got me out of a few strange situations along with the multi-tool
I also first recieved this knife in 2007. Since then I have owned (3). I love the knife, its heavy duty and I always have it clipped at my side along with my Gerber Multitool w/ C-4 Punch. Great Products!
I was given this knife while serving in iraq in 2007/2008 and I absolutely love this knife. I used this knife all the time, until it was stolen unfortunately the only thing that I way I could ever suggest improving this knife is by placing a seatbelt ripp
I have own tons of knives you can't bet this USA built thing of beauty. And trust me I use this blade dailiy and its held up to fire ,ice snow, sleet, rain, blood, you name it this knife has seen it.
where do I buy it?
