One of the lightest knives that Gerber makes, the EVO has multiple openings in the anodized aluminum handle. The fine edge blade is made of 7Cr17MoV steel to aid in corrosion resistance. The thumbstud and finger flipper allow for true one-handed opening and engagement.
A knife that fits in between the EVO and the EVO Jr., the EVO Mid sports a tactically styled Tanto blade and low-rise pocket clip. Its partially serrated blade is made with surgical grade stainless steel and is treated for strength and corrosion resistance. It has a liner lock mechanism for one-handed closing and a finger flip for easy opening. The Mid is a tactically designed, lightweight, everyday carrier.
I got this knife for a Christmas present and figured after five years of being used and abused it deserves a review. I think I've oiled it twice in five years and it's still holds strong. It has never gotten loose on me and I've never had to tighten it. The blade is a little softer than other knives but slap it on a stone and it's good as new. I definitely will keep buying Gerber knives. Thank you and keep up the good work Gerber.
I had been looking at this knife for a while. I finally bought myself and my dad one when I found them in sale at Academy. I have knives that are far more expensive but this one always seems to be in my pocket. I love the weight and the size for an EDC. The blade takes a fine edges and holds it much longer that I expected of this grade of steel. The lock up is crisp and strong. It's just a fantastic knife for the price.
Love this knife. beautiful workmanship. Easy to open and close. Love the tanto point. no loose screws or wobbly blade. Stayed sharp entire time I had it. Had it for a few years and lost it. Will buy another. Whoever found it got a great knife.
I'm hard on tools in general and knives in particular. This knife has gone everywhere with me for almost a year, and it still operates like new. No lose screws or poor workmanship. The blade is strong, and the tanto profile only increases its durability. The low profile open frame design is perfect for an inside the waistband carry. I can hardly even tell it's there. This is the perfect EDC blade for me. Light, durable, and easy to carry. Thanks Gerber.
This knife goes with me everywhere. I have put this knife through every test i could think of including cutting down a tree that was about 4 inches thick. The knife stood up great and I would recommend to oil the blade/handle joint and sharpen the blade every month or so.
I love this knife I've had it for about a year and it's I my pocket were ever I go it's small compact and vary useful and I love it I would recommend it to any body who carries a knife. I have never had a knife this good and I hope they make more knifes like it.
This is a good knife, Ive carried for about 2 years now and is my second Gerber evo and both are very good knifes, I got this one when I lost my first while working in one of my fields ( actually found it about a year later, how's that for luck). My knives have been solid w/ no blade flex or looseness. Both have been problem free and great EDC knives.
This Knife is my go to EDC 365 days a year! I never go anywhere without it! I have put this thing through hell, and it is still kickin butt! I have owned many knives and still do. many are made by Gerber. LMF infintry II, The Prodigy, Evo Jr. ect. Thank you Gerber.
i bought mine a couple weeks ago, and the blade is coming loose. I tried to tighten it with my Allen wrench and the screw won't budge. I like Gerber knives but this one could use more manageable blade screws. Otherwise the steel is good and the point is strong and it is very comfortable to hold.
I bought this knife from wal-mart just to try a Gerber knife out. I loved the knife it fit in my hand perfectly and the blade flicks out effortlessly. The black color of the knife is awesome and it was one of the easiest knives to sharpen. A actually lost it on a duck hunting trip and im still upset. I will absolutely be buying another one. ONE OF THE BEST POCKET KNIVES I HAVE EVER OWNED!!!!
This knife is well made with a low price. The opening and locking system on this is great. Keep up the good work Gerber
I was given this knife as a Christmas gift by a friend. It has been my daily carry knife for the past three years after I retired from the Army without any issues. Extremely dependable and reliable. Granted the blade doesn't hold a keen edge for very long, but when it doesn't cut paper anymore, I slap it against a steel and it's right as rain! I love this knife and will always carry it with me. I would buy it.
Hi my name is adem l m life to turkey but l dont find gerber knife l buyers knife you send me knife please
the guy on boat sounds like total moron and the rest of you whiners wouldn't know a good thing if it kissed you on the lips its a good pocket knife maybe u should try a jack hammer
My experince with this knife has been nothing short of awful. The blade came sharp and hasn't rusted. Those are the only positive things I can say. I had it three months when I tried to take it apart to oil and clean the whole thing including the hinge screw to prevent rust and corrosion inside since i was using it on a boat and the salt water speeds up corrosion. The head of the hinge screw got stripped like cheap plastic. I asked gerber for a replacement for that and the pocket clip, which had somehow broken already. A few days later I got the replacement parts and the new hinge screw got jammed in place. I later realized this was because all the parts I had been sent were for the wrong knife. I asked gerber to send a replacement knife, but they said they wouldn't, but I could send it to them to fix. I explained that I cant because the way it was jammed made it unsafe to mail, and was told they couldn't do anything for me. I threw it in a drawer and forgot about it until a few months later I found it again and managed to force the hinge screw out, bending the handle in the process. I then decided to try to ask for replacement parts again thinking that i would get the right ones this time and the knife would still be usable. When I got the parts, I could tell right away that i had been sent the same wrong ones again. I contacted someone and explained the whole story and this time looked up the exact name and product number to give the person so I could get the right parts. The third set of parts was again the same wrong ones. At that point I gave up. I will never buy a gerber knife again.
I've owned one of these for 4 years now and I carry it every day along with a S&W KA-BAR and it's worth buying. In my experience with this knife, I have found it to be made of soft steel. There are some up and downs with this because it could mean damaging the blade. However, if used for cutting with precision, you could hone the knife to cut anything including hair (yes, I have missed a spot shaving and I used my Gerber to clean it up after I got to work). I carry two knives because one is used for rough work and the other is used for clean slicing. I'm on the less fortunate side when it comes to income so this knife really keeps me in the game.
The knife was ok while sharp, but dulled rather easily and the liner lock became worn and loose.... dangerous to use because of the blade play. At first, the blade had a rock solid lockup, but has quickly worn. There is a page on BladeForums about the issue if you'd like to read more on it. Also, I find that the flipper is too difficult to use without flicking my wrist, and that the knife's design seems to be copied from CRKT's M16-10KZ knife. Gerber, I am disappointed.
I am always looking for an honest opinion so I am going to try and give mine. I only buy Gerber knives and this is a very good knife. This knife seems to me like more of a "spy" knife because it is thin, sleek, light weight, and has a fast deploy due to the finger flip. If you are a woodsman I recommend something a little heavier but that doesn't mean it's not tough. I bough it for the purpose of a secondary left hand knife and it does very well. Over all it is a very good knife and it works very well as a left hand knife and has a very quick deploy.
This is a great, light-weight, knife. It's not as sharp as some other Gerber knives I've gotten "out of the box" so to speak. But it's still a nice sized pocket knife. And just because it's not as some other knives it's still a good, handy, and convenient knife.
Owning this knife for over 5yrs this is just the right size while being the most entertaining as well. To tell the truth the blade does get dull and is hard to sharpen but everything else about the knife makes up for it.
Impressed with the quality of Gerber products. The Evo Mid with the tanto blade and partial serrated blade is by-far my favorite. It is useful for many everyday situations. Love the ambidextrous thumb-studs for easy opening. Very sharp blade and serrations make for easy work, whatever your task. The linear lock holds the blade securely and provides security to the user. With a weight of only 2.4 ounces it has a great lightweight feel but with the aluminum handle and stainless steel blade you know you have a quality knife. Pocket clip holds tight onto your pocket or belt. I would pay double for a knife of this quality and performance. Overall, I'm very impressed with Gerber and this product.
The knife is small and light enough to make a good EDC. Being on boats a lot, the blade and hinge started corroding and rusting surprisingly quickly. I discovered it's a major pain to take apart to oil and clean the whole thing. Overall it's a bit of a disapointment compared to my other Gerber.
This knife is great for EDC. It's just the rights size and the opening mechanism is very smooth. The blade is initially quite sharp but seems to be somewhat difficult to sharpen once it gets dull. Just be very careful when sharpening it or you'll make it worse.
My pocket clip snapped off really easily. It was surprising really how weak it was. But aside from the pocket clip it is an excellent knife.
I bought this knife about 8 months ago now and it has done an excellent job, I have cut hoses, rope, wire, and recently I used the tip as a scribe to make marks on Stainless steel and it hasn't loose the sharp edge. what I like the most is that it is really compact, strong, sharp and easy to handle in comparison to other knife that I have bought. some of the paint in the handle wore out for the use in the job but it is definitely a keeper for me. I recommended it to anyone who is looking for a great knife that would get the job done.
I actually found one of these knives while my dad and I were caving and I was CAKED in mud. I was worried it would be rusted and dull but amazingly I had no rust and after a quick sharpening it became razer sharp! I would definitely reccomend this knife to anyone.
Very dull blade, scratches and pits in the blade that were coated over are noticeable. Serrations are sharp. Not impressed with quality compared to my other 2 Gerbers.
I've had this knife for a couple years now, and it is by far my favorite knife I have ever had. It came very sharp out of the box, the opening nubs on the side are hard to use, but the index finger trigger opens it very fast.
Bought this knife for edc. Its light, strong, and doesnt take up too much pocket space like some folders. Pocket clip could be deeper but retains the knife well. Blade is sharp, good serrations, and the tanto is a piece of cake to sharpen. Aluminum scales make for a solid base though a little small for my very large hands. Well worth the trade in toughness. Overall good blade. It has replaced my sog flash2 because its lighter and takes up half the room. Buy it if you want a solid small folder that will be light, sharp, and there when you need it.
Had this for a few days now. Seems like a solid EDC knife for most people at a great price. It was pretty stiff at first, and the locking mechanism was rough. After opening a couple hundred times though it loosens up. For me, the nubs on the side of the blade is useless, but the finger flip is sweet. Pop it quick and quick wrist flip and its open. FAST. Came very sharp.
Bought the knife a couple of years ago and it has worked flawlessly. The blade wiggles a little, but then again my knife has been through hell and back, besides, it can always be tighten up.
U.S. Navy Corpsman (FMF)
I've made it my daily cary for about 2 months now, and I don't remember the last day I did not use it. It's decently sharp out of the box, and stupid cheap to replace if its lost. I've noticed the coating on the blade beginning to wear off a little on the outer edge and the coating of the handle is pretty scuffed up, but nothing too out of the ordinary for a knife that gets used this much.
Best knife i have ever owned. Recently lost it while in a club, and im going out to buy the exact same model. Owned it for over a year, and it hasnt failed me yet. Use it at least a dozen times a day with a million uses and counting, and i have had it in my back pocket every single day since i bought it. Durable, sturdy, fast open, easy close. Fits my hand perfectly, and allows me to have a sense of security when i walk down the street at night. Would refer anyone to purchase this knife, and felt strongly enough to rate and review it.
Good knife but the blade lock on mine doesn't latch until I pull the blade back otherwise a great knife
Just got this knife the other day at Wal-Mart. It comes razor sharp out of the package, very solid lock, and I can open it in a flash. definitely best buy for the price. i would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone looking for a great carry knife.
Use this at work as a backup knife, easily concealed, quick one handed opening, comes sharp out of the box.
all my knifes are gerber but this can do all the jobs i need to do.it can open so fast. almost like a aoutomatic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just picked it up at wally world...not a bad looking knife...replaces my other knife I just lost on vacation...will be my daily pocket knife...
I've carried this on me every day for over a year now and never regretted purchasing it. It's the best knife i've owned for the price, and it draws easily and quickly. The tip has dulled from all the times i've carelessly jammed it in a tree or a piece of wood, but the blade itself has remained relatively sharp. A bit of a pain to sharpen. The serrated edge comes in quite handy when you need that extra bite.
Great knife sharp out the box cut half my finger off with it. Cheap so easily replaceable lost 3 going to by my 4th tomorrow perfect for everyday use.
I gotnthis knife it was dull, I can't sharpen it it won't hold an edge ive tried with other knives and i got them sharp but not this one. I would like it if they got it in fine edge.
Nice build but overall disappointing. Knife is so dull right out of the box you can run your finger along the plain edge and not get cut. Serrations are sharp though so that's good.
this is a good knife, when i got it it was dull, but i got it pretty sharp. I love the liner lock, but on this knife it's not good, it's too small and i either cant get a good grip. I do live the idea of a knife that is one of everything
This is a great knife. It's sharp, light and good
looking. I really like the finger flip but I'm not a
fan of the liner locking mechanism. I find closing the knife a bit of a chore compered
to other locking mechanism such as, the pistol lock in the covert F.A.S.T. . All in all it's a great knife. ☺
Bought this knife about 2 months ago and i have to say it is one of the sturdiest knives i have ever owned. The blade has no blade-play (wiggle) and the belt clip is perfect and will not fail you. Even though it is a small package the knife is very comfortable in the hand. The blade tip seems to be a little curved at the top but that could just be mine. overall a really good knife for a first time owner, backpacker, hiker, or just as a EDC blade.
I always have this with me & I always find uses for it. Easy one hand access and opening. Serrated blade is the best for cutting wet nylon rope. Once, in an emergency, I was able to cut an aluminum ball-point pen tube in half with the serrated blade. The tanto point allowss me to cut out a newspaper article without cutting the page beneath.

This knife is very good got it about 7 months ago still holding up fine do not use diamond edge sharpener incorrectly on this knife, i did and it left bad scratches. I am going to give this knife 5 stars
Bought this for $30 (in Canada). The lockups abit late, but still solid. Never failed on me and i doubt it will. Ive used to pull staples out of the wall, open boxes and packages, chop tree branches off to get my fishing line out. cut fishing line, gut fish, and make fires. A great companion to a fixed blade or high end folder in the bush. Stays sharp long enough. Cant go wrong for the price. AND DOSENT RUST.
This is my first pocket knife so i dont have much to compare it to but it cuts really good and retains its edge pretty nicely. The only thing i dont like is the blade started chipping at the edge. Its probably because i overused it but thats why i gave it four stars.
Bought it at a Walmart for $20, a fantastic price for a blade this good. Bought diamond and ceramic sharpeners and it's better than it already was. Highly recommended.
Not a bad knife at all. Some blade play after long periods of constant use but easily fixed. bit of a compromise for corrosion resistance vs edge retention but not as bad as other knifes in the same price range. this knife is light I have a hard time telling if i have it in my pocket at times witch is fun when you walk though metal detectors without securing your knife before hand. Easy to sharpen and comes sharp out of the box but i still ran it over a strop to smoth out the edge. Easy to open has thumb studs and finger flip witch is vary nice. lost one in a drain so i bought another one the same day. over all this knife is a vary good knife for the price and is extremly useful for a EDC. knife.
Just picked this up at walmart for $19. I lost my Gerber AR 3.0 and kept waiting for it to show up. I always buy gerber knives since i had my first e-z out, and never looked back.
The thin handle makes it nice for my pocket. I always use the pocket clip too. The tanto blade is cool too. Looking forward to using it.
I just picked up this knife today and already I love it. It is very lightweight and the locking mechanism is impressive. I wish it was spring loaded but you can't win all the time. Nonetheless this knife is a must buy for any collector or fan of gerber.
I just got this knife in the mail this week and I am beyond impressed. It's a little smaller than I had wanted it to be, but it is still proving to be an incredible knife. I've used it a lot and it is staying pretty sharp so far. I love it.
Freaking...EPIC!!! This knife is the best $20 i've ever spent. i work at walmart in the garden department...and this knife comes in handy SO OFTEN! The serrated edge is great and the tango tip is mighty sweet! this is a sexy, naughty knife ;) haha i LOVE it! EPIC JOB GERBER! (btw, i used another Gerber to open this Gerber's packaging)
I've had this knife for about 5 months now and I've used it a lot. Blade is sharp, light weight, easy to carry around, very sturdy, locks perfectly when open.
I bought this knife forever ago. It has held up superbly! the tanto looks pretty sexy and the serrations really come in handy.....hands down best flipper out there on knives. seriously, the flipper is so much fun and works flawlessly. id heard reviews that the lockup wasnt that great but thats simply not true. the frame lock is excellent. i think this is the best edc knife out there..... awesoem job gerber, i was hesitant to buy it at first because it was just a gerber but seriously, this knife is the best! one last thing, the teflon coasting is the sexiest thing here. it holds pretty well at first but when you put this knife to real tests and limits it starts to wear.... BUT IT STILL LOKKS AWESOME!!! the coating looks even better when its worn hahaha....anyways, yes i recommend you buy this knife....... best 20 dollars ever spent at walmart
I bought this knife, thinking that it would be bigger, so slightly disappointed, but after using it for a few months, I can honestly say that it is one of the best knives that I own. The only thing I would like is if there were the option of a fine edge for this knife.
I purchased a knife previously and the image fooled me, and the I thought a 6" open blade was a decent size, but when it came in it was literally the most embarrassing thing I ever purchased.
I purchased this knife and it came with chips and scratches on the handle. I'll never purchase anything from this company ever again. I'm shocked on how poorly their merchandise arrives. What a shame. Not that many great companies that supply good products.
I have had this knife going on two years now and have had no problems out of it. This is an excellent knife. Also in my collection of Gerbers is a paratrooper styling fine edge. Both are awesome and would recommend either.
This knife is the best knife I have ever owned. It fits in my hand easily, opens easily, and never let me down. All around a good quality knife.
It worked great untill the the screw on the blade came undone, however its a great knife that can be put to the test and rise to the chalanges that me and my shipmates could put it agenst.
this is by far my best knife i own. its really easy to open and retains an edge very well.
i have brought it camping two years in a row and it has been great for whatever i try to do with it.
an amazing knife, would advise anybody who likes good quality knives to buy this!!!!
i have had this knife for almost a year now and i use it at work for breaking down boxes and other tasks, including forcing open steel cans that the can opener cant get all the way, breaking up ice on a freezer, picking meat out of tight spots of a slice
all around great knife but mine (only mine) has up and down blade play so really great for the price
great knife. i stabbed this thing through a plaster wall, and for only $19.97 the things i can do for twenty these days...
