Great blade, I use it every day to cut/break down boxes at work. I recently used it to strike a flint fire starter and it worked flawlessly. The blade is still razor sharp. Very lightweight and cool design.
I bought my Mini Swagger for $18 at Big-5.
The thumb bolts are too close to the bearing. If they were .25" further down it'd be perfect. For an "Assisted Opening" knife, it only opens instantly 5% of the time, I've even tried using my index finger and thumb to get it moving so the spring can take over, not much success.
My thumb and finger are pretty sore from trying, maybe after a few weeks, it'll be broken in and work like it's supposed to.
The packaging my came in is dated 2012 (China), maybe it's improved since then
I purchased this knife from a local retailer and it is awesome. It is very lightweight. I can hardly tell it's in my pocket. The pocket clip is very strong so I know I'll never have to worry about losing it. The handle provides so much grip and sturdiness. The blade needed a little sharpening, but after that it was good to go and cuts perfectly. The AO works very well. Took me a couple times to get the hang of it, but it opens right up when you figure it out. Overall, this is a perfect knife for every day carry. Would highly recommend. Thanks Gerber!
I'm in Boy Scouts, so I carry a knife with me daily. This knife may need a little sharpening at first, but after that I would compare this knife to some at Cold Steel.
I have this knife i wont leave the house without it its my protection
Came sort of sharp and is so is so tight i cant oppen it with the thumb studs and it hurts my fingers to oppen by pulling the blade. amazing grip on the g10 and a very solid lock up. no blade play at all! all in all a good knife for the money just needs to be loosened up with the torque.
It is a good knife will a pretty decent edge but with a few minutes with the belt sander that edge became razor sharper. It is a good size and has a nice g-10 handle. The only problem with it was that when i first got it the framelock didn't always work, within opening and closing it a few times the framelock was worn in and now it looks in very well. It is very good looking and great to use with the blade shape.
This knife is great. Its's size is perfect for sliding into a pocket, and it's super light. I was looking at both one of these and an LST but I realized that this is just an upgraded LST. The G-10 handle is amazing, never once have I lost grip, even with it's size. The thumb studs are priceless, as it is so easy to open. The only thing I would change is the lock.
this is a great knife that i carry around every day looks great and is one of the sharpest knives i have ever owned overall love this knife great job gerber
This knife is excellent. Despite the name mini it is a very good sized folding knife but is sleek enough to disappear into my pocket. With a naturally sharp blade it is perfect for survival, EDC, and in my Bug out Bag. I love it.
I got this knife in august 2014it is a great knife it looks awesome and is really handy the only thing is the blade chipped just a little but other than that it's a great knife.
i have used this knife practically non stop for three years it is a good little knife. my only complaint is that the thumb studs feel like spike balls.
As a zip line guide and outdoor enthusiast i use this knife everyday and its the perfect size. Best of all i got out for free because i stole our from Kmart:)
This is a good little knife, I've had it for 4 or 5 moths now and I have very if nothing to complain about. That being said this knife is purity simple so there's not much to go wrong with it and therefor not really of wow factor. I know some will disagree with me but I think that Gerber could make this knife better by giving it a fully serrated blade. All in all it's a great knife. ☺
I carry this with me wherever I go and love it. I've had more than one person comment on how nice it is. It's a great little knife for the money... so much so that I've picked up this knife for a few friends.
Came a little dull but sharpened nicely. Got it for my girlfriend and the lock is a little tough for her but other than that great knife. Won't be my last Gerber purchase.
This is a pretty good knife. I've had it several months. I carry it every day, and I can easily keep it sharp. It has even survived being run over, with no damage. My only concerns are that it's hard to open and close one-handed, and the finish on the blade is starting to discolor and come off. In general it's a real comfort to have on-hand
I've used this knife for about four months now, and it is just phenomenal. I carry it everyday and use it must everyday, and it's held up to every test I've put it through. I've only had to sharpen it once or twice and it's literally the best knife that I have ever carried. The size is perfect, and because the blade is under 3" long, I can legally carry it. Well done, Gerber.
I love this knife! It's the perfect size to get the job done. It came sharp and its very easy to sharpen. All-in-all this knife satisfies all of my needs! Some say its slow to open but once I broke it in I didn't have a bit of trouble. Perfect knife for me!
I'm looking forward to using this knife for recreational and hunting. Also when I need to I'll have have it on me as a side arm. Its very sharp!!! Over all its a great knife!!!
Very good knife. It came very sharp, and is extremely sturdy. There's a comment on how it's a slow opener, but with the thumb knobs on the blade i find it opens plenty fast. My only complaint is the locking mechanism, it doesn't slide all the way over, it only goes part way. I still feel that it's a sturdily built knife. All-in-all a good knife.
I got this knife a few days ago and it's sturdy and came very sharp. It passed all my tests with flying colors, it's comfortble and light. Some reviews say its not a fast opener but I find that it is rather quick with the use of the thumb nobs on the side of the blade. All-in-all a good knife. The only
Very sturdy knife that hasn't let me down yet after daily use. The g-10 handle is nice, light, and provides for a good gripping surface. Frame lock is very sturdy. I carry this thing daily for a reason!
Great knife for the price.
I did some quick research on knives of this type and price and this is the one I found that I thought would be the perfect knife for me. The size is just right. It's not a fast opening knife and that is ok. The one thing that I am disappointed in is that the blade is as dull as a bar of soap. This is a "tactical" knife? Well I will just have to get a sharpening stone and have at it. Other than that (and that is rather important for a knife) I like it.
I've had the Mini Swagger for 8 hours, and it was great up until I tried to remove the clip. The back ground edge of the blade (the part the locking mechanism touches) cut through one of the white washer things and now it's grinding metal on metal. So don't loosen any of the screws.. It would have been helpful if the clip could be removed without destroying the knife.
i carry it everyday it hasnt failed yet use it at the ranch
Love mine!! Use it everyday. Never without it....never fails....
I too use this as my everyday carry piece and it does everything I need it to. I've had it on in mud, water, snow, everything. Cleans up goods, sharpens even better and keeps an edge well. Black coating on the blade has resisted rust very well and hasn't chipped. Very, very sturdy construction and lock up. Love this knife.
I use the mini swagger as my everyday carry knife. It's a very good knife and has a very solid build. Takes a great edge and stays sharp. Not too big, not too small. Has a pocket clip that's solid. I would recommend to anyone.
