I purchased my first one several years ago and it's held up well, although the blade is made of inferior steel and doesn't hold an edge very long. Fortunately, it's easy to sharpen with almost any sharpener. The blade developed quite a bit of play (side to side) after a year or so but that was easily remedied using a tiny star driver to tighten one loose screw. Knife opens very easily with one hand using the index finger tab on the top side of the handle.

I owned a couple of the EVO tanto blades before this, because I thought they looked cool...which they do. The smooth arc of this blade makes sharpening easier, and let's face it...it a classy piece of work. Same stuff as others have said: I use my knife every day, owned a number of styles, this is my hands-down favorite, slim and lightweight with solid mechanics, comfortable on the pocket with a sturdy clip. Maybe too comfortable...I've lost three EVO knives at security checkpoints (concert, county fair, airport) because I'd forgotten it was there.

Ive owned this knife for 6-7 years now and its held up this entire time and has served as a trusty EDC knife. I switched to a different knife (non-Gerber) for a short time and it rapidly broke down so I happily returned to carrying this one. It has survived a motorcycle crash one rainy day and the only thing wrong is the pocket clip got slightly bent, but its still 100% usable.

I have the large EVO serrated. I have benchmade and kershaw folders full auto or flipper opening. The best feature of this knife is the weight and it fits easily in a pocket. I will complain about the one handed opening though. The thumb screw is useless as its not positioned to get leverage for easy opening. The flipper is too small to get leverage also. I can open it one handed about 70% of the time otherwise it just sticks half way and I have to wrist flip it open. Still a great carry knife but really should not be advertised as a one handed opener.

I own an Evo ti coated serrated knive. I love the strong clip, light weight handle, size/length. However the blade has all kinds of chips in it trough out the whole blade length. Including the serrated part. I use it almost daily and generally love the knife, but the blade sucks.
I would like some input.

I have owned one of these knives for about six years and I would never own a different blade. It's perfectly weighted, the serration is still sharp. Best feature is how slim it is. Perfect fit within a jean's pocket. Get it, you'll love it.

  • |BY: Casey , Good knife, slight issue

I really like this knife. It has a wonderful mechanism for opening, it's lightweight, it takes abuse better than most, but it still has one small issue. About a year after I got it, the open blade started getting a little side-to-side wobble. I tried tightening it, but that didn't solve the problem. However, it has hardly affected performance, and i would definitely recommend this knife.

  • |BY: mr.AbuseABlade , perfect low budget edc

bought this knife from a pawnshop for 12 bucks. no ragrets. knowatimsayin? but in all seriousness, if you need a fair sized quality knife, easy to sharpen with mediocre edge retention (i abused mine) while on a budget, this is the perfect starter knife. cheap steel, and loose hinges are the main drawbacks on this otherwise decent folding blade.

I got one of these about 7 years ago when I was out fighting wild land fires and I've been carrying it daily ever since. This knife has a feel and function to it. I havent had a knife that I like the feel of nearly as much as this knife. Its slim lined design make it awesome to have it clipped on and not get in the way. The cut outs on the handles make it very easy to grip even when its covered in oil. The screws in the handle finally stripped out but I've beat this knife up BAD, most fixed blade knifes couldn't stand up to what I've put this through and Im sure I could take it back to gerber (there located a few miles away from me) but I have more than got my money worth, I would rather support the company and buy another one! Also the little stud sticking out for the one handed opening has acted as tang on more than one occasion and saved my hand. I could go on but I'll just some it up with: if your even slightly thinking about getting this knife, go for it. Out of the 15+ pocket knifes I've carried (some in the $75+ range) This is by far the most durable folding knife I've ever owned.

i've had this knife for about 2 years now and only minor errors/ user errors have made things go wrong. after awhile it started to open not as smooth, quickly solved it with cheap oil and its been fine, a year after. also i was being stupid and was messing with it, testing strength and broke the tip off, it is a very durable knife, the clip holds extraordinarily well for me and a recommendation, dont be stupid with it. be safe :)

I have the older version of this knife and I have had it for about 10 years it is an amazing knife. I love this thing and have never had problems with it which is a miracle because I use this knife so much and have used and abused it and it still works like a champ. I highly recommend it.

I bought this knife about two years ago. It holds a pretty good edge but the coating on the blade comes of so easy. However, the worst thing about this knife is that the clip bends out and will not go back in. Please gerber, FIX THIS.

This knife overall is a great EDC, survival, and tactical knife. But my favorite part is the assisted opening flipper. It really gives an edge to the knife, If you know what I mean.

Okay knife. Drop point as sharp as a butter knife and as other reviewers have noted, quite a soft blade so it's hard to keep an edge. Great everyday carry - an extraordinarily average knife

I got this for Christmas, been using it to open things from boxes to mail, used it to cut some rosemary off the bush and every other use. Still as sharp as the day I got it and is just as firm and well built. Been using Gerber for 10 years and still haven't been let down.

I take this knife everywhere I go. I bought it for protection, as well as every day use. I always cut my apples with a knife and they get corrosion from the acid. This knife never gets a mark on it and stays sharp. I love this knife and would reccomend it to anyone.

I have an EVO that is several years old. The blade is made of quite soft steel and will not hold and edge. In fact, it is dull and the edge shows obvious rolling after cleaning only one snow goose! It is a good letter opener though. Overall, the knife is built well, but the blade is to too soft for it to be much use as a knife.

I've had a ton of knives over the yrs, and typically with daily carry/use I can get 6months to a year out of them be fore they start having issues. I've had this knife for 3.5 yrs and love it. I carry it 24/7 , literally. I even keepit clipped inside waist of my shorts at night, and would forget it's there if wasn't so used to always having it. It is my daily use knife and my back up carry weapon. Will never leave home without it.

  • |BY: Colten , Good, but not Great

This knife was perfect, when I got it that is. I am all about durability and after just a month of everyday use the retaining screws already became loose and the blade lost place and became loose. Not too loose for discomfort and didn't break yet not a sturdy feel. Regardless a really cool knife. One of the best looking knives I have seen in awhile. Also, when the knife is closed, the finger guards act's as a legal switchblade if your quick with it.

Bought this knife for general purose use during my deployment. It has become my standard go to for any situation that I don not need the Gerber tool I was issued by the Army. I recommend this knife to any Military, police, or Firefighter looking for a strong, light weight knife that will retain an edge and will not rust. i have bought a second Evo jsut as a back up since my first one came apart from so much use. The only recommendation I have is keep an Eye on the retaining screws.

I snagged this little gem from the lost and found drawer at my job (it had been in there for several days). It is an older version of the one pictured, has a lot of wear on the handle yet it still cuts like a serrated dream. It's got a good look and nice weight like a fine woman.

My story is that I had the smaller evo for a few years until I lost it and had to buy a new one so I bought this knife I love this knife and carry it every where...funny thing is I found my old one in the woods after about a year and it was only a little sticky

I kept this knife for about about a week before I had to return it. The fit and function of the knife was really nice. The weight was very comfortable to carry. The cutouts in the handle need to have the edges beveled so they don't snag on your clothing. The knife I had ripped off hole in my pants pocket where the clip and the cutouts caught on the edge of the pocket. If Gerber were to bevel the cutouts on the handle I would have to buy this nice again.

I liked it for the first month, it is indeed easy to open and not at all too loose... but one day the clip caught on something and got bent out, so I had to take the clip off to bend it back. After doing so, I found the screw hole to be stripped, the only thing holding the screw in was some sort of glue. Now there is no way to reattach the clip :[

Excellent knife! I lost the last Gerber I bought, and when I looked for a new one this one seemed to be fitting for me. Very light but also functional and tough. No damage to the handle at all and I use almost daily. Highly recommend.
