This survival knife for scouting is full of features to keep you safe. This lightweight portable folder offers a surprisingly tough drop point blade, ideal for cutting rope and edge retention. The rubber grip and lock back mechanism keep the blade in place.
Surviving the unexpected is about being prepared, and the Bear Grylls Scout exceeds the standard. Few people know more about survival than Bear Grylls, ex-British Special Forces officer, experienced mountaineer and respected survival trainer. Taking advantage of Gerber’s decades of experience and Bear Grylls’ adventure knowledge, the Scout gives you the ability to engage with your surroundings in perpetual survival mode.
COMPACT SURVIVAL SECURITY
Built on the same platform as the original, the updated Bear Grylls Scout replaces its gray areas with a sleek black, both on the handle and the blade. Additionally, the blade itself receives an update with a full fine edge. The Scout is a light, sturdy clip folder with a lockback structure for safe use. Its dual thumbstuds let you open it quickly with one hand, and its rubber overmold handle has a grippy texture to ensure that it stays in your hand during use, no matter what conditions you’re facing.
ATTACH IT FOR CERTAINTY
The Bear Grylls Scout handles survival easily as a daily carry. It has a pocket clip that can slide neatly within a pocket or attach to a belt. The pommel contains a lanyard hole for additional securing options. Included with this ready tool is Bear’s Priorities of Survival pocket guide.
bought it about a year ago and absolutely love it, out of my 4 other knives this one would have to be my favorite
I got this knife about a year ago. Since then I've thrown it, whittled with it, and I even tried to use it as a wire cutter! (It didn't work instead it dented the handles rubber a bit) When it came the knife was so sharp that when I tested it on my thumbnail, instead of just pealing some nail off, it caught in my nail and I was afried of loosing my thumb!
PS I bought the older serrated version. It came on Amazon for about twenty bucks.
I have taken this on many campouts and its very sharp. Has never gotten dull on me. Opening is easy with the thumb studs, and almost feels like an AO. This knife has a very slim profile and list lightweight. The clip is also good.
Overall, an amazing knife for the price. You can pick it up on amazon for about half the price on here.
it's a perfect multipurpose knife
I have a question. The specks say that this new scout has a 4" blade and a 7.3" overall length. Knowing that the blade plus the pivot and lock portion of the blade need to fit inside the handle I think someone entered the wrong facts about this knife because a 4" blade plus the lock and pivot area will not fit in a... hang on 7.3" - 4.0" =3.3" yeah it will not fit in a 3.3" area. What I think happened is someone mixed up the handle length with the blade length, because on the old Scout knife the specks say that the handle is 4" and the blade 3.24" and the overall length is the same as the new one 7.3. I will say that I love the way that the Bear Grylls knife handles feel in my hand! I have had the Folding sheath knife and the Ultimate Fixed blade knife and both were really comfortable in my hand. Thank you Gerber.
