Fully automatic and ready for anything, this knife has a premium design that sets it apart. With a corrosion resistant S30V steel tanto blade anchored by a oversize blade release button, a striking pommel, and a lanyard hole - you are never unprepared.
When our men and women overseas speak, we listen. The Gerber 06 Automatic features an over-sized release button for use with gloves, a slide safety that engages in both the open and closed positions, a stainless steel pommel with a strike point and a lanyard hole compatible with 550 cord, a partially serrated edge, and a contoured aluminum handle for a secure grip whether your working with blade or the handle. The stainless steel blade is made using S30V, a premium stainless steel that stands up to incredible abuse while holding its edge like no other. Available only to military and public safety personnel.
Best knife I've owned by far, received as a gift in Afghanistan, lost due to a fire on base, would give anything to get a replacement.
Best knife ever. Extremely tough and I use it all the time
I love it to death. I had to replace the spring and did so with a slightly torquier one. No other issues. And to the guy complaining about sharpening it, its s30v. Its a very tough steel. Once you lose an edge it takes a long time and work to get it back perfect with out the correct sharpening kit. I use the spyderco triangle sharpmaker. Once s30v loses an edge you need a diamond grit to get it to where you can use regular sharpening grits etc. when its sharpened properly, it keeps a great edge for an extremely long time.
Got this knife in Iraq, been through Iraq, the pacific, Afghanistan, Japan and back to Afghanistan. Works great, just needs a new blade
nice knife, doesn't hold an edge worth a damn though. Always sharpening it.
Always wanted a good knife
Made tje investment
Have not been disappointed
6Yrs still going strong
Best knife I've ever used. Misplaced the one I had, very much want a replacement.
I have had this knife for years. This is my favorite knife by far. It's my EDC use it all the time holds an edge great. Great size. This really is the best folding knife ever.
Got it when I went overseas the second time awesome knife pretty sure you can't break the blade gonna have to order a new cause unfortunately lost it last week not going through the process to get another this will be my 3rd one
Awesome knife have had it since 2010 and the toll it has takin and withstood is beyond any knife I have had. Now it is starting to have trouble opening and a couple screws are missing. Overall best knife out there
Had one and lost it. Very Bummed. Had to get another. even when the blade was dull this knife was amazing. Never sharpened it and used on everything. Great weight, feel, and very durable.
This knife can take a beating and keep on going ubelivable blade still only Gerber made in the USA most Gerbers these days are made in China which is an unfortunate thing for Gerber which they sold out to the Chinese shame on Gerber but I will continue to carry my s 30 v because it is made in the greatest country on the planet USA I hope Gerber can bring their production back to the United States and maybe they can start competing once again with companies like Benchmade
Got this thing as a reward for a deployment in 2009. It has not left my side since. Daily use for just about anything and them some. I plan to order another as soon as I can figure the site out (Credentials required).
love my knife, wouldn't open, finally got it open and now its broke, how do i get it fixed, its been hell and high water never failed me until now.
I was issued this knife in country in Sangin Afghanistan. I used this knife for everything from opening MRE's, cutting det cord, scraping carbon off of the bolt of my M4, and making kindling for a wood fire. The knife's main purpose was probing for IED's the coarse sand and rock of southern Afghanistan. Through two deployments to Helmand province I found 5 pressure plate IED's with this blade. The spring held strong and the blade was lighting fast as long as I kept it somewhat clean of sand and debris. I've owned a Benchmade, Emerson, and Spyderco but this knife was my favorite.
I have had one of these for about ten years love it never leave home with out it
My knife was given to me by a Brother Mason and I've it to long, the clip broke off. I still carry it tucked between my belt or back pocket. Always on the go thought my deployment.
A well designed and thought out tool! Sturdy, rugged and overbuilt for a mid sized auto. Solid in the hand, strong thick blade. Picked up a well worn used one, most likely carried everyday. Should last my lifetime and then some. A tough SOB
I had this knife while serving in Afghanistan, I lost it while out on a mission an miss this piece of art and tools. I wish I could find that knife and it served many uses in the Army as a medic and just everyday work Jacob.firstname.lastname@example.org
HAd it for close to 7 years...nuff said
Fantastic knife. My knife went through hell and it still maintained all the good qualities. The only reason I am rating four stars is because of my own stupidity. I took it apart to clean it because the opening action was sluggish due to years of abuse in harsh environments and I couldn't get it back together.
I want to tip my hat to Gerber and the people on the line who make this knife. Solid, well built and great steel. I've heard complaints about blade speed...well I only wish my reflexes were faster so I could make a similar complaint.
It's possible that theirs had a defect but mine opens with a quick and solid action.
I am a huge knife collector and this is not my only but its my first s30v knife and i am absolutly in love with it. My spring had broke but i modified it with a slightly torquier one from www.knifekits.com and it just wont quit. I highly reccomend this knife to absolutly everyone.
Awsome Knife, outfitted my Soldiers with this knife before deployment and it has held up very well in every case. Blade remains sharp after a year of use and abuse, handles well and easy to deploy as needed gloved or not. At this point I don't leave without it.
It got stuck open once due to grit getting inside. I had to take it apart and clean it out. It uses Torx screws, so it's possible to do, but not recommended if you don't have experience. Otherwise a solid knife. Just be sure to inspect the serrations when you receive it. Mine were cut poorly, so I had to get it replaced. The replacement was also cut poorly, but not as bad, so I kept it. I'm thinking about ordering another one.
Had since i.was 10 and pulled outta arm in a fight survived ever task i put too including prying outmotorcycle engine that was super rusted
I had this knife in Afghanistan. It was a great knife. To bad I lost it while I was over there. I should have put a Dummy cord on it. Thanks for making sucha quality product.
This knife has taken a beating and still is reliable as the day I pulled it out of the box. S30 Steel.... That is all you should have to say.
The first time I used this knife on a motor vehicle crash the knife tip broke when I cut the seat belt. That's not all. there is rust developing on the blade. This knife is not worth the price.
I want to order the Gerber 06 Auto-Tanto Serrated. How do I place it in my cart? I have registered, I am active duty military
My knife arrived today and it is exactly what I wanted. It is built solid, it is almost as strong as a fixed blade. It is a little big for my wife, so I am going to have to buy a different model. I have that Gerber would not sell anything but a solid automatic knife.
One thing strange is the review saying it is not a switchblade? I push a button and it opens, sounds like a switchblade to me. Buy one and decide for yourself.
Owned this knife for 5 years and already ordering another since this one gets so much use. Versatility to be opened with gloves and one hand is critical. Blade release hasn't missed a beat yet. A little M-Pro 7 to work out the dirt and keep a fast opening. Love this knife and haven't looked back since.
I want to order the Gerber 06 Auto-Tanto Serrated. How do I place it in my cart? I have registered, I am active duty military (Air Force)
Great blade and will buy more when they are back in stock!
lets get one thing straight this is not a switchblade, it is assisyted open great knife though i would reccomend it
Over all great "Self-Defense" knife.I use this knife everyday. A bit heavy in weight...but that just gives it that extra little "punch' when used.Like the Multi-Plier 600 that I use, only the best and most reliable will be apart of my kit.
This is the best knife hands down! 6 years and Im trying to buy another and I will once its in stock!!!
Amazing knife its great for deployment.
Awesome knife, was issued this in 2009 and is still being used this year 2012. Has been on multiple deployments, Very solid construction
Own a total of four of this model. See my review in the Drop Point model page. Best knife made by Gerber yet. The original ond issued for Iraq deployment still sits in my pocket. Use it almost every day. Used it in Iraq daily in a variety of hard use situations. S30V is a great military steel for blades. This knife will keep on ticking. Thanks Gerber.
this is my best knife and was put to good use whilst serving abroad
this knife is a very good knife for everything
