$1.00 flea market find, never been used! Score of the year.
This is by far one of the best knives I have ever purchased. The ability to remove and replace the saw when it became dull is an excellent feature that should be added to all other gerber knives with a saw feature.
The tool itself is a good size and comfortable to hold and use, as well the locking mechanism for the tools is great at holding them in place when being used.
Overall, this is a highly recommended product.
People.. Hands down this is the plier that you want to buy... I have used mine now for 15 years. !!! I have used it as a hammer, a wedge, tie off point stuck between a few rocks, pry bar, Just about everything that you can imagine in a 15 year life span.. It finally broke on me whilst gripping on a bolt.. HaHa.. Imagine that.. Gerbers Warrenty is awesome and they say that they will replace it no issues.. I just dont like that they will not send me a replacement part.. I have had it for 15 years.. Yes i have had the thing apart to clean it.. I know how it works... Don't be like that Gerber.. Your tools are the best out there, just hate to not have one for 3 weeks while you guys fix my tool... It is a part of me... So that part i don't like... Other than that. I Will never buy anything else... My 600 plier has held down so many things like a champ.. My tent when i ran out of spikes. Just pound the gerber in the ground ,,, It can take any beating you toss at it..! Love Love Love this tool and I am depressed to let go my first mate to Gerber for repairs. By the way this is the first time it has ever broke on me in 15 YEARS! So point proven?
I deliver small aircraft all over the world and for ten years I've been depending on this tool. I especially like the one hand operation. Now they come out with add on bits, I guess it's time to get a new one.
Had one of these for over ten years and its rock solid. I've done everything imaginable to this thing including trying to use it as a hammer in a pinch and jamming the small flat driver into stripped screws to turn them. The blade was still sharp and strong despite everything i put it through and the scissors still snip right through paper, labels, and most importantly to me cable zip ties. Also used the scissors for stripping wires sometimes. The only reason I'm here shopping for a new one is that mine got stolen. I'm not even considering anything but another Gerber because of the superior strength and quality of the tool itself and that wonderful knife blade. Swiss army knives are a joke next to these and the leatherman's I've seen have not impressed me. This is a real tool with a real knife not a little toy. The bits are standard size so using the socket tool you can use any standard screwdriver or drill size driver bits which was convenient for me since I could replace some of the lesser used bits in my kit with some of the weird star and hex bits I come across in my line of work.
I work with wires/leads, allot of metal most of the time it's awesome to use. I use the wire cutters for MIG, then small stuff like detail on my work I make amazing tool boxes in my spare time! It's the best American made knife tool set on the go like a Swiss. My friend has one who is in E tech and is also a Fireman. Then my Uncle who is in the Navy ET who has the pro scout 600 and another which the navy gave to him I can't say which but its so cool! These People who are my family made me wanna get one it is worth every penny and my fed ex guy sucked two which came to five but whatever it's with me now its my new family member. I would hope to influence someone to get one or just give as a gift! So I hope this answers your Questions
This is my second one, TSA lost the first. This thing is awesome, but I prefer the old style knife (as seen in picture above). The new knife looks smaller and weird. I had the first one for almost 5 years and it was awesome. Hope this one is just as good. Still not sure if I like the knife though, may just have to continue carrying my spare knife.
I have had this tool for well over 10 years. I have watched others go through multi-tools and struggle to open them. I use mine multiple times a day and have never had one issue. I have given them as gifts and everyone loves them. Thank you for such an amazing product! I only wish I had an excuse to buy another one for myself but this one never gives up!
EXCELLENT tool, I have had one for over 10 years and another for 4 years. I am getting ready to purchase a 3rd. I feel naked without one mounted to my belt. Almost every job I encounter can use this these tools in one way or another., Excellent products would highly reccomend and they make great gifts.....got extra money send me another
The tool is quit OK. But I don't like the shape of the knife. And I don't like at all, that it started rusting within a few days.
I've carried one of these for over a decade. Durable, reliable, easy to use, and the tool kit not only handles 90%+ of any jobs you encounter, it's easy to customize both bits and saw blades (also fits Craftsman™ saber-saw blades; I use a hacksaw blade as a default, but with other (application-specific) blades I can carry with me - truly a toolbox on my belt!
Gerber multi-tools -- especially the Diesel and Pro Scout series -- are perfect for my line of work. Whether at height in the truss, on the end of a rappel line doing rope access work, or working on the ground, the Gerber is a versatile implement. I prefe
I have owned a gerber multi tool similar to this one for many years and hate being without it.
