FliK Multi-Plier - Needlenose, Stainless
With its twelve beefy tools accessed in outboard mode, the professional grade Flik multi-tool gives itself quite an edge. It’s a member of a series of one-handed opening Gerber multi-tools used heavily by the US military.
NEGOTIATE OBSTACLES WITH EASE
This industrial-strength tool’s needle nose pliers serve personnel who require a precise point that can grab fine elements in small spaces, while its one-handed open simplifies the task of clearing stubborn weapon malfunctions. In addition, it contains a brawny saw, a serrated blade knife, and a fine edge knife, each of which can take on a multitude of cutting and sawing tasks, making the Flik more than sufficient as the sole tool needed in a go bag or general purpose tool kit.
TOOLS WITH TEETH
Constructed of hardy stainless steel, the Flik’s heavy duty tools take on a wealth of tough tasks without complaint. Along with the saw and serrated and fine edge blades, it holds a Phillips driver, three separate sizes of flat heads, a file, a built-in ruler, a lanyard ring, and a can and bottle opener, all of which lock in place for safe application. It even provides an opening assist mechanism for the smaller tools. This do-it-all multi-tool reliably serves its operator in negotiating obstacles regardless of location.

I like my FliK alot....just maybe a little simpler with the locking mechanisms...other than that I've had no problems...
I love it but I have been through 3 of these due to plier release lock breaking. PLEASE FIX ISSUE. I love your products but this not good.
Most awesome tool set ever!
Can handle anything a scout needs on a camping trip!
All the scouts want one!
Keep up the good work!
I've carried a Flik for 4 years now. Best Multi Tool I've ever carried. Pliers don't PINCH your hand like the Leatherman Wave does. Also the open bottom sheath It comes with, is perfect for this particular multi tool. I understand why it was made this way. If it was closed it would eventually punch a hole through it. Also, here's a tip.. when using the pliers you have to fully open them to set them up after you flick them out. Not doing so will not get a proper bite. I tried using a Leatherman Wave for 2 weeks because I got it as a gift. I went straight back to my flick after getting multiple pinched hands resulting in blisters!
Had this MT for the last 4 years. It has never let me down.
I have bought multiple fliks and the ones i have bought recently do not last very long, the unlocking mechanism for the pliers break very easily. I have always used a Gerber over the Leatherman everytime. Please fix the problem.
Best tool ecer for a lumber yard.
definately the coolest looking mt ive owned had trouble using can opener until i got the knack to it any bad review id say is from people who improperly use tools dedicated tools like a phillips driver are better for putting in hundreds of screws mt's are great for a few phillips screws holding somthing in your way and your not about to go to the tool crib or truck to grab a driver for a couple screws. ect. i think multitools are great and theres always one that suits your perticular needs best. i heard the flik was discontinued and i thought that sucks cause if i loose mine thats it maybe we can see a flik 2.0 in the future.
I have owned several gerber tools before and am not particularly thrilled about it. While the knife blades, saw and sears are handily placed on the outside, the screw drivers are hard to get at by comparison. When I was overseas the standard tool was the Gerber 600 and my coworkers used it regularly to cut strapping on boxes, however because the flik doesn't have overlapping cutters, it was useless in this role. I have also had problems with the plier head getting stuck or not deploying properly when I open it. On the plus side, as with the above mentioned place meant of the bigger tools, the saw is leaps and bounds ahead of what was on previous knives, and the knife itself holds an edge very well.
Overall, I wouldn't purchase this knife again, nor would I recommend it for others.
This is made in China... Not very high quality like your products used to be
I have listened to many people tell me I needed to give Gerber a try and finally was in need of a new multitool so I decided to give one a try. I picked the Flik and it seemed like a great purchase but I have had it barely a week and a half and it broke. I was using the pliers and pulling on something and the handles collapsed together and the head of the pliers is now slanted to one side.
I will be sending it on to Gerber for repair or replacement but I can tell these are for light duty tasks only.
Not impressed with this model. Tool felt like it was going to fall through the sheath. Ended up cramming the tool into an old sheath from previous gerber multi tool. Scissors broke the second time I went to get them out. Nothing likes to stay folded in. Everything feels loose. Screwdriver bits are a joke at best. They feel like they are going to break at anytime. Phillips head is flat enough to use as a flathead screwdriver. Save your money and buy 2 MP400 Compact sport multi tools for about the same money.
I love the quick flik pliers but the practicality of the tool itself isn't all that great the screwdriver bits are way to small and really not that useful the and it sucks gerber won't just mail you a replacement over all I hate to say it but I carry my leatherman sidekick more often now (since my bit is broke)
This product (flik) produce cancer?
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't use my Flik. The only complaint about the tool is that I haven't found a single use for the pair of scissors since I bought it two years ago. Other than that this tool has performed flawlessly.
As for the sheath I agree with the others that is should be closed on the bottom and possibly made out of leather? Other than those two things I would buy this again in a heart beat.
Great set of tools and a nice heavy duty head on the pliers. I searched high and low for a tool like this to replace the 3 or 4 I kept in my bag or pockets at all times. This is the one tool I keep with me everywhere I go. As mentioned in other reviews, the velcro on the holster does wear out, but the tool itself is magnificent
Great multitool. Been using it for over 5 years now and it hasn't let me down. Love the locking mechanism.
WILL OUTLIVE ITS CASE... the case is nylon/velcro. I'd much prefer a leather/button case.
I've owned one of these for years and haven't had any issues with it.I carry it on me every day and its never failed me. I use it for everything from camping, to using at work, to fixing my truck, to pullin splinters and even diggin into my toe to pull out an ingrown toe nail. I use it everyday for somethin, I love it. I never leave home without it. I very strongly recommend it for anybody looking for a good reliable and practical multitool. The only problem I've every had with it is the Philips screwdriver ain't the best. But other than that, I think everybody should have one
Great tool. I love the flick action and the outside-access tools. These features make it more functional than the standard butterfly- type multi tools. I might like to see a magnet latch or snap on the holster, as the velcro wears out over time. Thank you Gerber for making such a useful tool.
I Never carried any type of small knives or tools on me. But ever since this tool was given to me. I use it everyday at work. It really comes in handy. The small compact design makes it very easy to carry on your side and is structurally sound!
Great tool use it daily. I have same complaint as others with the holster
I've had more than a few gerber multi-tools and have by fat enjoyed my FLiK the most. I feel the outboard tools to be far mar accessible than the tools on other models and I feel better about using them thanks to the safety lock. In addition the open assist feature comes in handy quite a bit. The only thing I would change about the FLiK is this model lacks the file that I found so useful on other models. Aside from this, PERFECT!!!!!!
I agree with Paramedic, awsome knife but the holster sucks. I got mine cpl weeks ago and the new design of the holster has a open bottom and the tool is already sliding out. I can see this falling out and becoming lost in the near future. Once you get a better holding devise then it will get a 5 star rating.
I owned this tool for 5 years before misplacing it last week... Absolutely unbelievable quality. I used it every day at work. The sliding mechanism never caught, jammed, or failed. The pliers work as any pair of medium-duty pliers should. The knives (serrated and straight) both kept an edge for what seemed like forever - I don't think i ever sharpened the serrated blade. The only complaint I could possibly come up with is that the tools seem like are made from aluminum, and can bend. That being said, I used this knife for everything for 5 years. It never failed.
The ONLY reason it gets a 4 instead of a 5 is the holster. It needs a more secure closure, the velcro is shit; and the nylon belt loop is pretty flimsy - when attached to a velcro duty-belt, it gets frayed pretty quickly. Maybe use a higher-rated nylon for the loop, and a heavy-duty snap closure.
I've had this tool for years now, its been used for everything from yard work to emergency automotive repairs and then some. Ive never had an issue with this knife and its a must have whenever out working or offroading.
I am very pleased with the performance and engineering of the Gerber Flik multi tool. I have used this on hunting excursions (building shelters and making snare traps), car maintenance, and fashioning meat hooks for hanging meat to set. It has never let me down and functions superbly for its designed purpose. Great tool to take on search and rescue missions. Have previously owned a Leatherman PSTII and far prefer the Gerber Flik for it's engineering and design. Leatherman are more sturdier i.e can be used as a lite hammer tool - Gerber Flik is clearly not a hammer and if you use it for it's designed purpose doubt it will let you down! Cheers, Hadley.
My Flik has been to hell and back, 1 tour Iraq and 6 months in Afghanistan. After returning in country this tool is about to fall apart.
I expected more from it, but poor quality in the hinges and locking mechanisms made it dificult to use. it is absolutely useless as it is now.
Would i recommend one.... NO
would i buy anaother...... NO
This is my second Flik, after being replaced for a broken screwdriver tip, and it has broken screw driver tip along with the pliers not locking in place. I feel this product is under engineered.
This is my second multi tool my wife bought me the first one and I carried it everywhere until I lost it. Now I have this one that goes to work with me everyday, only problem is the holster is about shot and I could use a new one. I give it a 10 out of 10
I found this on a road one day and decided to keep it, I cleaned it and found out that what I just found was great. I was totally excited to use it on my next camping trip with the Boy Scouts. I used it and decided that this was one of the best multi-tools i have had. it has a ton of tools and is just awesome!! I really recommend it, especially at this price!!
This tool has been wonderful. The pliers hold up to aggressive use and the tools are great. I touched up the fine edge blade as soon as I took it out of the box and wow, it is razor sharp! The drivers have helped me doing countless chores without having t
