This was my first EDC knife. I knew it was a lower quality steel and figured I would replace it after a year or so, but just cant find a better knife for the price. The blade holds a decent edge, and although I dont think I could ever get it razor sharp, it is sharp enough for my daily tasks.
I'm on my second, and buying more! The lock shut lock open feature makes it a safer knife, the extra tools make it great. I have carried a pocket knife every day for 14+ years. I've had others come open in my pocket and luckily only cut my jeans. Don't have to worry how bad that could go anoymore. Blade holds up well to farm, hunting and fishing chores. It's a great folding pocket knife.
Found one of these on a ranch I used to work at. Nobody claimed it, I kept it, fell in love with it, and lost it. Bought a second one, then found the first! I've had it for almost 5 years now, and it has been the best knife I have ever had. I carry and use it daily, and it keeps its edge really well. I would (and have already recommended) recommend it to anyone looking for a good knife.
I do survival hunting general use I have had it for about a week now it is awesome!! built bullet proof and the tools is a real nice bonus one of the best knifes I have ever owned and I have had some bucks and some nice name brand rings
The Obsidian is an awesome knife I have owned mine for about five years and carry it daily. I would give 5 star except for one minor issue... the tools do not have a lock like the blade does. that would be a great improvement to an already awesome too.
I've taken this knife camping many times and though I've purchased other knives thinking I'd replace this one, I always come back to using it. The opening is smooth, the lock is steady and true, and the blade is robust and holds an edge. I've used the bottle opener for some Dr. Peppers quite often as well. Great knife all around.
I own two Obsidiian's (i thought I lost one, bought another, then found the first...) and they are great general purpose knives. The blades stay sharp for a while before needing sharpening, they open smoothly and the locking mechinism works flawlessly. My only complaint is the screwdriver tools (both of them) are a bit weak, on one of the knives, they bent hard and required a bit of hammering to straighten out, just to fold up again. Otherwise, the blade, the reason I bought it, it nice.
I have had this knife for a couple years and it is holding up strong! No loose bolts or blade. The buttons are still really tight as well. Its a great knife.
Always performs to potential and is there when i need it. Use it for every thing and when im kayaking it opens fast and easy if i get stuck in a jam.
I really like this knife, except for one part of it. After several weeks of normal usage the screw holding the clip onto the the knife stripped the holes and the clip fell off. It appeared that the screws were only screwed into the plastic on the handle instead of into the metal.
I've used this knife for everything the past 2 years including gutting many small game like squirrels and such. love this knife!
I have had this knife for several years and it is still holding up. I do bassically everything with this knife but it refuses to break. The button that opens it is also a great feature. I can just push it down then flick my wrist and it comes right out.
Had this knife several years. Holds an edge very well and the extra tools definitely come in handy! Used it to make a chimney charcoal fire starter out of an old coffee can. Stabbed several dozen holes in the bottom of the can. Absolutely zero damage to the blade! Unfortunately I lost it somewhere. Will certainly be getting another soon!
I love Gerber knifes, I just got this one and it fits my had so good and the extra tools come in handy
