Gator - Clip Point, Serrated

When Gerber debuted their line of Gator folding knives in 1991, they were voted "Most Innovative Knife of the Year" at the Blade Show. The handle is made of glass-filled nylon and it’s covered with a rubberized alligator skin texture for a tacky, comfortable grip. The lock-back clip point blade has a serrated edge and is forged from 420HC stainless steel. Sheathed in a heavy-duty nylon case, the Gator is still one of Gerber’s most popular folders.

5 Your titel Awesomeness - OCT 23, 2014

I love this knife as a combat knife when
I was deployed in in 2012

4 Veteran Matt - AUG 19, 2014

I bought this one prior to my Somalia deployment. Still have it. Great piece only improvement would have been carbon.

5 Your Title Robert - JUN 17, 2014

fantastic knife, i've owned the same one for 30 years and have brought it hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, or any other outdoor adventure and it has never let me down.

5 Perfect Jared - NOV 14, 2013

I have 2 of these.... I have had them both for about 15 years. They are awesome knives that I have use to cut everything from wire to wood to drywall. Even a steak someone overcooked. Never had a single issue with the blades on my gerber knives. As a fellow Oregonian I am happy to purchase Gerber knives. I recommend them to everyone.

5 Mr Jon Maxwell - SEP 20, 2013

I was 'stuck' by this exact knife, and I have to say it did it's job. Immobilized me instantly. Wounds were treatable barely, had a good doc. I own one now, and I love it! It's a great knife! The straight edge give you the precision you need, while the serrated gives you the 'cut through anything' force you need sometimes. Love it.

5 broceefous maximus william.jones9999 - JUL 22, 2013

i purchased this model in al asad and carried it for two deployment into the sand box. i imensely enjoyed its performance and how easy it was to snap open with a flick of the wrist. it now belongs to a younger cousin who uses it a lot while hunting. i replaced it with the guthook combo in GTMO. cleaned a lot of fish and preped a lot of grill meat. fantastic

5 Your Title Yzere - JUL 10, 2013

I have found this knife (Gerber 650) on the field during an exercise about thirtheen years ago. And it's now a part of me during operations and exercises. Also my MP600

5 Amazing Adam - JUN 13, 2013

The version of the gator I have is as old as I am. I got it from a friend that didn't like it, and guess what I asked him... But anyway great choice on the 420hc stainless. I've used mine countless times and I've only had to sharpen it twice. Great knife overall and will last me my whole life

5 Finder! Construction Wrkr - MAY 25, 2013

I found this knife in a park yesterday. Someone stole my Paraframe II a few years back so I'm happy to have a new Gerber. This one is even better and I love it already. It got it's first day of use this morning at work and it cut with ease. And I absolutely love the grip. There's no knife on earth that's as comfortable, grippy & lightweight as this one. Thanks Gerber and thank you karma!

5 outdoorsman Marcus G - APR 10, 2013

I've had this knife for almost 20 years now, I've put it through just about everything. From cutting fire wood, to dressing small game and fish. Its been gunked up with fish guts and sand, and left to rot, and the action is still smooth as the day I bought it. The rubber grip is still tacky, and not dry rotted, and not warn away. The stainless holds an edge better than other stainless. My only complaint is that the curved end of the handle begins to hurt my hand after extended use. Besides that, it'll last for ever. I've trusted Gerber ever since this knife.

5 Just a guy Matt - APR 3, 2013

About the best folder I own. No folder I have used has a better handle. You always have a sure grip on this. In the yard, "go bag", trail, general use it's just an absolutely incredible tool. It's not a pretty looking tool but it always gets the job done.

5 Registerd Flight Nurse Frankie - MAR 31, 2013

Mine was given to me in 1992-1993 by a Moutain Ranger friend while in the Army. This is by far the best knife I've owned as no others compare to the handle, blade and useful size. It's one of the few knifes I own that is made in the USA.

5 Bought mine 19 years ago Moe - FEB 20, 2013

Bought it at Academy in Houston, and it's been rock solid since. Camping, fishing, home repair, you name it, my favorite knife. Years of solid use, blade still intact with no dings. Keeps a great edge.

5 Had one in high school Matt - FEB 2, 2013

I got one given to me in high school by a friend I went to school with carried it the rest of the time I was in school . Then I ended up giving it to my neighbor and he carried it five or six years then got something else and just put the knife away in a drawer he liked the fact that it held a razor edge and stayed very sharp for a long time and the fact it was light weight to carry as a every day knife.

5 I love this knife! Thomas - JAN 30, 2013

I was given this knife, and it quickly became my favorite knife! I love the way the handle feels in my hand, and I can sharpen it easily. Very solid design!

5 Body Shop Manager Mr Danny Loveland - JAN 11, 2013

I think the gator is best of all this form of knife's. I own a gator 650 and can not find it on your web site..

ANY info would be appreciated

3 Poor Metal Rywin - JAN 11, 2013

I LOVE this knife, but after only two months of owning it, it developed rust spots. It could be a fluke, because my dad has had the non- serrated model since the late 80's and it still looks like he got it yesterday, but mine isn't doing as well.

5 One of the greatest knives ever made! Knife Lover - JAN 1, 2013

I love the Gerber Gator. I have the half-serrated combo-edge model and it is superb, excellent, and great in every way. I use it for everyday chores and it holds up well, and it can be used for everything from processing wild game meats and fish to cutting string, opening mail, and trimming fingernails with ease. PLEASE, keep this item in stock, Gerber Knives. THANK YOU!

5 hunter Alaskan - DEC 12, 2012

I have had a Gator since the late 90's. Phenomenal knife! Although my model does not have the serrated blade like this one, I use mine for everything from chopping veggies at camp to skinning bear to field dressing & quartering a moose. In fact I just field dressed and quartered a moose without needing to re-sharpen it once and it maintained it's edge like you wouldn't believe. I measure the quality of a knife by how it maintains an edge and this is the top of the line if you ask me!

5 As good as it gets!!! Thomas Eason - NOV 27, 2012

I have had mine for over a decade! I use it as my everyday carry knife...at work in the aircraft industry...at home for projects...even in the woods for hunting and fishing. I fell in love with it when I first held it and still love it as much today! Best money I ever spent!

5 #1 best knife Terry Brugger - NOV 19, 2012

This is the best knife I've owned to date (used ~10 years) & I bought a back up when it was on sale (I'm 55). Sticks to your hand in the worst slippery conditions, stays sharp, tip hasn't deformed cutting broad heads out of wood, very sharp point for removing slivers & thorns & serrated edge is great for clearing shooting lanes. I rate this as close to perfection for a general purpose hunting, fishing & backwoods knife. The newer sheath seems a bit stiffer & thicker which is also great & has never accidentally opened.

5 die hard fan Van Sisson - OCT 7, 2012

I bought my knife in 1992. It has traveled with me all over the world. I took it with me on all my Army travels and other over seas work travels. I love and never leave my knife at home. I would love to find a new sheath to protect it and keep it with me.

5 Love it! Don - OCT 6, 2012

I have had my Gator for quite a few years. I never leave home with out it when I go camping. Great knife!

5 Excellent knife. Ethan H. - SEP 28, 2012

I bought this knife for while I was in Afghanistan, and was amazed by its quality. Damn good knife. I arced it on a 24vdc terminal working on a generator, and it melted a small divet into the blade, which would have happened to any blade, and does not detract from the quality of the knife itself. I still use it to this day.

5 best knife ever chapman - SEP 25, 2012

my father has owned this knife for as long as i can remember and he loved it and recently he gave it to me and i love it. it is by far my favorite knife in my collection i will be getting a new one soon

5 One Bad Dude M.C. - SEP 4, 2012

5 hardcore american awsome knife - AUG 22, 2012

i got this knife from my dad. love the rubber grip and razor sharp blade. the velcro on the sheath seems to be wearing down though. other than that, no complaints from me

5 Third generation Gerber customer Matt Beals - AUG 14, 2012

I keep this in my emergency kit in my car. I know I can count on it when I need it. The handle is very comfortable and I love the material. I know that I can have a sure grip.

5 truck driver john - AUG 10, 2012

i bought my first gator 10 years ago it was an awsome knife but after all these years it was finaly time to buy a gator serrated i love these knives !

5 Ex paratrooper Michael - AUG 7, 2012

This was my favorite knife I could jump with. I was looking for a fixed blade knife I could jump with and wanted the Gater handle with a metal or hard plastic sheath so this was my choice as for it did not exist at the time. It lasted me 4 years. Then it was stolen now I have the Second version of this with the cutting hook with it!

5 Your Title Mark - JUL 31, 2012

Had one for years and lost it during a move. I immediately replaced it with the same model. Great knife!

5 hunter super sharp - JUL 18, 2012

I like the rubarized grip for wet weather. I also like how sharp the knife is and the edge it holds. I highly recomend this knife!

5 Superb! Dan - JUN 21, 2012

I highly recommend this knife for anyone who either camps or uses a knife for working purposes. very reliable, fits in your hand very comfortably even with work gloves on. Also I have had mine for 7 years and have only had to sharpen it twice. great workmanship and quality.

5 Vinny Emergency Svc - MAY 12, 2012

The overall design is very practical for most applications. The rubberized handle allows for a secure and comfortable grip. The blade is very sharp right from the factory. No problems cutting through a seat belt. The carrying pouch with both vertical loops and a horizontal loop allow options for securing. I keep the included cleaning hook in a separate pouch on my vest just in case I can't get to my gator and need to cut a seat belt or some cord. I had one of these in the 90's and bought another. They were great then and they are just as good now. To sum it up, this knife is practical and efficient.

A great knife. I bought this knife back in 1999 and have always considered it to be one of the best knives I own, as sterdy as the day i bought it, used regularly, it is light, strong and will grip when wet and dirty. It is always on my belt. Recomended.
