Freeman Fixed - Drop Point, Fine Edge

There are some guys on this planet who live and breathe knives like few others. And it just so happens that one of those talented guys, Jeff Freeman, has been earning a Gerber paycheck for nearly a decade. But when he came up with the concept for this acclaimed fixed blade hunter (along with Brad Parrish), well, Jeff got a nice little bonus: We named it after him.

There's no tougher hunting knife in the forest or the field. Its a solid full tang slice of stainless steel, encased by solid pear wood, and sculpted to be as dramatic as it is functional.

Field & Stream magazine named the Freeman Hunter a "Best of the Best" honoree in 2003, recognizing its place among the finest hunting knives ever engineered. But the real honor goes to Jeff, whose richest reward is knowing that hunters everywhere swear by the knife he created.

5 Your Title Mitch - FEB 12, 2013

I loved this knife, then some punk stole it from my truck. I would like to replace it but can't find them anywhere now. Really wish you'd bring them back.

5 Hobbyist Dar - OCT 20, 2012

I have owned this knife for a number of years and my friends always ask where they can get their hand on one. Bring it back!

5 Bring back the classic!! JIMBO - AUG 10, 2012

Some say that the knife doesn't make the man, but that the man makes the knife. In this case it may be the opposite. This knife gives the common man the ability to do uncommon things. My very first deer was field dressed with this knife. So memories have been made. It's sad to see that such a great piece of craftsmenship became discontinued. My dad always said that everything old becomes new again. I hope I live long enough to see that become true when they bring this classic knife back.

5 Great knife CTP - JUL 20, 2012

I've had my wood handle Freeman for 6 years now. Holds a great edge, re-sharpens easily enough. It's been deerhunting in the New England with me every year and shows little or no wear. Strong woods knife but not too big. Great grip when it's wet. I also wish the sheath were leather (as does another poster) but that is my only complaint.

4 filet mignon wrapped in a turd. JMK - DEC 30, 2011

Truly the best knife, sharpens nicely and have used mine for many years. The only time I dont wear it is in church. The down side is that I got one of the earlier versions and got a decent leather sheath. No positive clasp to keep it in the sheath though. Now I see other versions with balistic nylon with plastic insert. While I love Gerber knives they need to do better with the sheaths. I would like to see a scout carry with room for a fire starting implement.

the best knife ever
