Some good - some not Howard Winter - MAR 9, 2013
The knife blade is razor-sharp, the pliers, scissors and package-opener work well, but the two file-faces are completely useless. They won't even file fingernails! They look like they've been made badly, with flat lands between the grooves, so no sharp edges at all and feel smooth to the touch. Supplier says they're all like this, so I'm disappointed - I think this is a manufacturing defect.

It has a sandpaper polish finish, so that means you intentionally avoid a better appearance. The movement parts are very stiff. The sharpness on blades are regular aproaching to bad. And If you are talking about these scissors can cut, I totally agree with you. Both, left and right-handed individuals can use it to cut paper, fabric, etc. but I do not mean that. my point is that the right-handed as I can not see the cutting line. The blades are reversed, and I can not get a clean cut. Other multi-tools with scissors including brands like Victorinox, Leatherman, Wenger, are designed for right-handed individuals. It would be very important if a right and left-handed individual of your confidence try to cut a circular shape on paper with this scissors, so you could see with your own eyes what I am talking about. It's exactly what you buy... a China's made crap.

9/10 the Gerber Dime is a very, very small package that packs a huge punch. the regular knife was razor sharp out of the package, the package openers cut through plastic and cardboard like it was paper and the lock up for everything was tight. my 2 cons are: tools are hard to get out and that the wire cutters aren't sharp enough. For the money you can not go wrong. Thinking about getting a few of these.

Really well designed, keychain sized multi-tool. Easily replaced my Leatherman Squirt on my EDC keychain! Stylish, functional and seems very durable for most reasonable uses. PLUS the Scissors, Knife and Retail Package Opener came razor sharp! A++

Love the design, and the retail package cutter worked really well (hate those plastic packages). The knife blade wasn't able to cut into the plastic package very well and is a little small. The scissors are small and it took me a while to cut a long piece of paper..even just shredded it a few times. The scissors may just be intended for strings on your clothing

Knife is not as sharp as I would like to see and the scissors are not as good as only other Gerber Multitool. They have trouble cutting 550 7 Strand Paracord. However as a keychain tool this tool has a well constructed feel and works well in everyday situations. I love mine. I have the black one and it looks great on a keychain.
