Torch I - Drop Point, Fine Edge

Still the same compact, easy-to-carry knife as our original Torch, but with a fine edge drop point blade, dual thumb studs and finger flip for fast, one-handed opening. The unique frame-lock safety mechanism and finger flip protect, while the stainless steel handle features textured glass-filled nylon inserts toensure a secure grip.

Why was this knife discontinued? I've had mine since I was a teenager- still looks and performs like it's brand new after many years of use. The thing I love most about it is the way it locks in place, I've got a couple switchblades that after locking in place will still wiggle slightly, and the way the Torch is designed it locks perfectly with no chance of it closing on your hand like I've had happen with auto knives in the past. The only thing I would've liked to see was a pointed tip, the way it's rounded is just silly...

just got mine today. it is fantastic! razor sharp, no blade play, and smooth opening and closing of the blade. i have only one problem with it. it isn't being made anymore! i hope gerber reconsiders as it is an awesome knife.

I am an Assisstant Scoutmaster and both of my kids as well as myself and my wife each carry one of these. I use it every day at work. Great little knife that holds an edge and is easy to touch up with steel or stone. I have had mine for 5 years.
