I haven't had any issue with the rubber grips. The fast opening did take about a week to learn. I have to admit when the knife isn't in my pocket, it in my hand. I 100% LOVE this knife. I have had it for at least 3 months, and use it nearly every day. Gerber must have fixxed the rubber grips because there is no way mine are coming off.
So all and all, i use it everyday and i can't give a single con.

Beautiful Knife But.... Stephen - MAR 10, 2012
the way the rubber is molded around the butt of the knife makes the rubber want to fall off. Ive had the knife for about 3 weeks now and have put it in my pocket one time. The rest of the time the knife has been sitting on my night table. The rubber is falling off and the belt clip screws did come loose... but I saved them. If only the knife didnt have that rubber on the handle the way it does it would be a wonderful knife. Ive started the warranty replacment process and I am hoping the will give me the same type of kife without the defective design. I will come back and post what the outcome is. Knowing Gerber Im sure all will go fine.
PS: With a better handle this knife would get 5 stars

I purchased this knife about a year ago and the only problem is about 6 months ago the screws for the belt clip backed out and I lost them and the clip. No other problems though!!!

Awesome in theory. I bought this knife well over two years ago and I am now on my Third. The first one lasted maybe a month of daily use before the rubber grips peeled off. I would have been fine with that until the entire faceplate on one side started falling off. I sent that knife in and got a replacement which lasted maybe 3 months of minimal usage before the safety switch broke and was unable to lock the knife. Very dangerous if you know how well the assisted opening works but still manageable until the faceplate screws started to loosen again. I am now on my second replacement and will follow up when this one falls through.

I think Gerber Is the BEST brand. Brandon - NOV 29, 2011
I bought this knife halfway through last school year and the black grips are already starting to peel off. Dont drop it on accident with it open because it will chip the edge of the blade. I had that happen and luckly it wasn't bad enough that i couldn't shapen it out with my stone. But other wise its great!!!!!!!!!! :)

This was an easy knife to operate with one hand. Never had a problem with the opening and closing of the knife. The rubber grips pulled away from the frame and that was disappointing, but the knife still functioned. Then one screw head broke off and the k
