After buying every blade available on the store shelf in the last 20 years of being an avid mountain man, this blade is OUTSTANDING!
With proper care it will last more then just my lifetime. Its high quality steel that you just can't fake. The hollow ground being the proverbial cherry, it took down a 5 inch maple tree in one swing.
For anyone that has cut up a deer carcass they know what happens to a low quality machete. This is far from low quality.
Sorry Bear Grills, your parang was just no good.
Camillus, yours was too short, heavy, & thick.
And don't put a saw on the back, it defeats the purpose of using a machete. That to me says that you know it sucks so we tried to make up for it.
This blade has the look of a well done orienta style blade it is light and durable my favorite of the outdoor blades. Price is very reasonable and would make any survivalist feel like a ninja.
