I purchased this light a few days ago and when I used it the light flickers and will not burn consistently. I made sure it was assembled properly and it was I guess it was a manufacture defect. I contacted customer service for their lifetime warranty and I was told I would have to pay more money on this broken flashlight for shipping to have it repaired. I was told the extra money I must pay out of pocket for this paper weight to be shipped will not be refunded or credited. I am not going to spend anymore of my hard earned money on this product., the store is 80 mile from my house so returning is not an option. NEVER AGAIN GERBER!!! I wish I could choose to give zero stars!

As a back up light I recommend having one just because of the compartment.

Great light. My new bushcraft light. Love the waterproofness and the storage compartment. Just a little on the heavy side

The construction is sturdy and the light is just bright enough. I wouldn't pay more than $20 for it personally. I got mine for $8 at dicks sporting goods at an after Christmas sale. The water proof container is big enough to store an extra battery giving it roughly 40 hours of use. I keep this one in my standard outdoor kit.

Water Resistant is the truth, dropped it in a stream outside of red river, NM. Pulled it out, and turned it on. Battery life is above and beyond my expectations, as well as how bright it is. Good grip, compact size, and the light has a natural focus point that is very handy. The added compartment is very cool. Overall, great light and well worth the money.

Love it. Because of the waterproof compartment I am able to store extra cotten balls for my bear grylls flint stick.

i love the torch, its just the burn time was short, and it actually went out on me during the 3rd day on a week long trip. luckily, i keep extra batteries and an extra flashlight, but the design otherwise is really nice

I really like it very durable and the matches in the handle come in real handy. But to make it AWESOME I would ask gerber to put a FLINT in the handle instead of matches.

A bear grylls rucksack? pft no need, just skin a seal and put your stuff in there, its waterproof too, so you could drink your urin from it if you had to.

It would be better if the lens magnified and the black casing was a hardened solar panel. Survival equipment should last as long as you intend to live. You're letting me down, Gerber. Pick up the Slack. Batteries don't last forever. And I certainly wouldn't put them in my pack

what about kinetic energy? i think this company would be able to develop one that doesn't need batteries for the true survivalist.
