Gator Machete Pro
Find yourself backed into a corner with the undead on the move? Grab your Gator Pro. It has an aggressive, multi-purpose blade that can be used as an axe, a machete, or knife to filet your way through any walker offensive. In battle, the extra-grippy rubberized handle keeps the blade securely in hand. If the undead come calling, let the Gator Pro answer the door.
*Also a great machete for clearing brush, blazing trails and chopping branches.

I got this machete, and no longer am I afraid of a zombie apocolypse. Keep up the good work!
The shipping takes a couple of days but it was worth the wait, the blade was all sharpened up and ready to use. Definitely a must have in a survival situation
Another great item to add to my BugOut bag! The knife which was included is also a solid piece of work! Nice job, Gerber!
It's mean looking and it's easy to carry.
Screw Glenn and the Walking Dead. Buy this because it is an AMAZING tool at a great price. I beat the hell out of mine and its still as good as new.
Don't know how well it works on zombies, but this thing will clear some brush. This is beyond a novelty item, its a handy tool for the outdoors man. The hooked edge grabs briers and small limbs, that would typically flex or bounce away from the blade, and slices through in a quick motion. It's short in length for easy carry. And heavy enough to be used as a small axe. Only draw-back is the sheath belt loop is poorly sewn. Broke on the first day.
I have to say I got this just because it's what Glenn used in TWD.
I found it in a smaller kit called a Gerber Apocalypse Deterrence Kit, which came with this (Gator Machete Pro + DMF Tanto), that I found online for $50 and free shipping, so well worth it IMO.
Love them both, they feel great, and you feel pretty good holding both of these in your hands, lol.
Appears as a Woodsman's Pal knockoff. Needs a knuckle guard to be closer to the Pal, but seems like it would function similarly. Cutting edge does not extend to the tip to prevent edge chipping from ground strikes.
This machete is decent. It handles poorly, but not the worst. I bought mine last october, and it requires alot of upkeep for a machete if you dont want it falling apart. Ive used it once or twice a month since then, and its still similar condition to when i got it.
Walking Dead fans; you guys are hilarious. When i saw my knife was in the show a few days after i bought it, i lost my sh*t. It is a perfect thing for any walking dead fan to own, just not practical for being used for anything except zombies.
This is the machete used by Glenn in The Walking Dead tv series
is it just me, or does it look exactly like the machete used by Sokka from avatar last airbender cartoon series?
Knock off an American classic and give no kudos to the US Marines who carried in WW2 and then outsource to china!
i had this 5 months and it is great good handle planty tang hours of beating on it works good love it got to have it cant live without it
Was going to pick one up incase I ever needed to take care of some undead, but learning that it is not made with a full tang made me reconsider. If you make one with a full tang, I will pick it up in a heartbeat.
I wander if it's the one Glen uses. Because I APPRECATE him
Is it Full Tang ?? I'd like to know before i buy one.
I've owned this for about 5 months and its barely decent. Its very dull and after spending 30min on some branches already starts feeling loose in the handle. Recommend the woodsman pal if you plan on actually using a machete. Mine had no tang. If your looking for a Walking Dead replica then this thing is an awesome thing to have to sit around your house. I plan on just using it to scare off my daughters boyfriends
Well I was going to invest in a nice home owners insurance policy but I think for 57 dollars this will be a nice substitute.
this it the best machete ever! great quality great texture by far one of the best machetes ever!! very small great handling the grip is excellent sharp just by far a class A machete great for perfect for camping! defiantly a five star machete great job gerber oh yeah much better than the woodsman just saying
The Walking Dead, is my favorite show! For 57 dollars I would love to own this! Probably wouldn't use it but if I did and it turned out to break it has a lifetime warranty. Very, worth it in my opinion!
wwz did u say this looks like a total rip off so basically u don't know u haven't tested it your just upset they another company made a new one and believe it or not just because some things cheaper doesn't mean its lesser quality in fact this isn't cheaper the woodsman is just really expensive however that doesn't mean its better or worse i don't know BUT neither do u so before u go spouting off how bout u actually test them
I am interested if anyone actually owns this product. I have read the posts regarding the comparison of the Woodsman and this tool, but have not read too much from people that have actually used this model. If anyone has actually used this model for a reasonable amount of time and can give an acurate review please do so. I am very interested in purchasing a quality machete and would like to hear some more reviews from actual users. Thanks.
Woodsman's Pal has been around for a long time. This looks like a total rip-off with a updated handle. To those that are celebrating the fact that it's cheaper... well - you buy cheaper, you get a cheaper product. Did you pay Woodsman's Pal a royalty? I'd be surprised if they aren't planning a lawsuit.
Gerber, where have you gone wrong? Your new slogan should be "imitate, don't innovate".
Get off of the licensing bandwagon and stop whoring cheaper products for profit.
hey this a beast zombie weapon but you beginners don`t know how to use it
Big improvement over the Woodsmans Pal, especially the price. For those of us who use this stuff every week this is perfect.
hey all ,what i m going to do is buy a few of these machetes from gerber and cold steel and test them by chopping bamboo and 1" X 1" wood and video it and see it they can stand the test ,i have a knife from bear collection so far and the it stands the test ,went to the junk yard and bought a car door and stabbed it a few time and the blade still stayed sharp
Android Phones are are copy of the Iphone. So what? Get over it.
Dunno who invented the airbag in a car, but everyone has one these days. Get over it.
Gerber saw the WP and made their own version. Seiously. Get over it.
Okay people let's get real, even though this is the same thing as the woodsman pal, there are some differences in Gerber's corner. #1 it's ALOT cheaper and comes with WAY more than the WP, #2 comes with a sheath, better grip, better lanyard and a sharpening stone and last but not least, I prefer it over my WP because it cuts better, doesn't lose its edge and (I can't stress this enough) the handle is world's better.
This is a replica of the USA made Woodsman's Pal machete. It's interesting that nowhere on this description page does it tell you what Rockwell C Hardness the blade has been tempered to or what the blade thickness is.. The Woodsman's Pal website tells you exactly what you need to know.
Just because you saw it on The Walking Dead doesn't make it a solid, reliable tool. Buy the original Woodsman's Pal, it wasn't used to kill zombies, but it was used by American troops during the early part of World War II through Desert Storm.
Gerber is becoming the Mossberg of the knife world... goodbye quality tools, you shall be missed
This is definetly a Zombie Killer have used on numerous occasions to cleave heads in two.
Anyway to all the people saying things are sad I might have to look into a "differant" opinion.
And the sale of "TV toys" is just clever marketing because everyone is getting into zombie fever.
What makes this one better then the Woodman's Pal that has a hand guard on it to protect yourself .....other then it was on TV in the Walking Dead Series is that what your company is doing now selling fantasy TV Knives instead of quality tools if this is where your company is headed to resort to selling TV Toys?? .....Sad if this is the case
An obvious copy of the Woodman's Pal, only lighter gauge metal and shorter cutting edge.
If you want something like this, get the original and add the rest of the kit seperately
I'm certainly getting one of these bad boys after I get my Yugo SKS this month but I'm wondering is it full-tang? Can anyone tell me?
As soon as I seen this gear on TWD, I knew it was Gerber. Copy or not, we can be sure this thing is sturdier and better quality. I'll be getting this along with one of their axes next month. I'm amassing a decent collection of survival/outdoors gear.
Blatant copy of the woodman's pal....not impressed gerber....
How'd you get the rights to Clone/Copy the Woodsman's Pal????
I got this for my boyfriend as his Christmas present. He loves it. It comes dull with its own sharpening tool. It's beautiful and the handle feels solid. Worth every penny. As an Asian, I believe it's the only defense melee weapon against zombies.
Too funny! It's good to see a company with a sense of humor.
i love this show seen this machete around the internet im getting this now
The blade isn't sharpened to the end for safety reasons. primarily if you end up missing your target and hit your leg the blunt edge is supposed to keep you from cutting your leg off.
Yes! I agree, I think Glen will survive and kill them all with this tool while the rest of the guys run out of ammunition. He is so underestimated.
If its good enough for Glen then its good enough for me. Nobody EVER appreciates the Asian guy.
I've been wondering since I saw this on the show- what is that hook on the back for, and why doesn't the sharp edge go all thw way to the end? It's seriously BA looking, but why would I ever need it?
Killin' them thar dead uns comes easy with this sick blade. I'm takin' heads and turnin' em into bowling balls. Ain't nobody better get in my way... man or walker... don't matta none.
The Gerber Machete Pro answers an on going problem with buying the Woodsmans Pal. Depending on where you but the Pal can be found from 45 to 80 dollars and only from online sources. very few stores carry it at a reliable level. For this reason the Gerber
Saw it on the show, Love to hike and clear trails....I need this....
I am a huge gerber knives fan. I have many and have had them a long time and have never been let down in years of ruthless outdoor use. Although, I will not stop buying great knives from them. I nothing less but let down with these gimmicky attempts to se
So much need this...
: based on the legend; still so cool you need them both...
The 4-piece Woodman's Pal Nostalgia Collection is offered as a reminder of humble beginnings from early 1942 when the US Signal Corp was issued this standard equipment. The collection is especi
It's really not hard to grind the tip down an sharpen it.... But I'm sure it affects the codeing on the metal...
On eof the most effective tools when having to handle a bunch of walkers. The sturdy grip and the great balance of the blade makes it a very useful weapon against those walking dead. My son is a big fan of this one!
This machete is great for slaying walkers! The blades are super sharp and can lop of heads like a hot knife through butter! Highly recommended!
Ok I admit it. I saw the Walking Dead show and now I want this. I don't know why, I have no need for it - but it must be mine.
Exactly what I need to open my beers post-apocalypse, of course.
I hope that it is full tang... and if the blade was sharpened out to the tip, it would make it a bit more effective, from clearing brush to clearing zombies.
I would like to know why the sharp edge on the bottom side doesn't continue below the protrusion on the front. It seems to make more sense to keep it going full length or at least most of the way down because there's more mass behind it at that position.
Here's yet another essential to add to your zombiepocalypse toolbox. The Gerber Gator Machete Pro was designed with zombie killin' in mind — you can see it in use on The Walking Dead — and as such features a multi-purpose blade that can be used as an axe, machete, or knife, a grippy rubberized handle, a military nylon sheath, and an included sharpening stone to keep it ready for action when you're on the move. Oh, and you can also use it for clearing brush, chopping through branches, and other more mundane tasks.
