Gator Machete Jr

Built Gerber tough, the Gator Jr. is a packable walker annihilation weapon. The two-sided blade has both a fine edge for hacking through the oncoming hordes and a serrated edge for rough-cutting through the brittle bones of the undead. For covert, low-profile travel through hostile territory, the Gator Jr. is the perfect machete for lightweight travel.

*This is also an ideal tool for clearing brush, vines and branches.

5 Pretty Usefull Zack - AUG 30, 2013

I bought this knife in Canada (Where i live) for under 30 dollars. i chopped down five trees, 12 smaller trees , and used the saw for countless 1'' shrubs and trees. this machete is very good and does not wobble like his big brother gator Sr. I recommend for someone who enjoys the outdoors who isn't too serious :) `Zack

5 Lover of the outdoors Gerber fan - AUG 9, 2013

I have had my gerber for a few months now and the blade is still nice and sharp. This machete has a great edge on both the saw and the actual blade. The grip is great other than it might make your hand black after using it for a while. I have cut through some really hard wood logs with it and it hasn't let me down. Any time I know i'm going to need some good knives I bring my Gerber Gator and my Gerber Gator Machete Jr. Great job on another one Gerber.

5 Really useful knife Kieran - APR 22, 2013

Really cool knife, it's got an amazing handle grip and a blade that can be sharpened to almost a razor edge. The saw cuts fast and has a safety string so you hand cant slide onto the blade and cut yourself. But if you use the blade as much as I do, the blade loosens and gets dull (as any knife does)but you can tighten the blade to fix the looseness.Overall I think this is a great knife and you can fix it with simple tools.I take it out each time I :Camp, Hunt and hike.Great blade Gerber! (its like a big bowie knife)

4 Hunter Merlin - APR 15, 2013

Good over all. Just keep blade clean it will rust.

1 DONT BUY IT Mr.Random - APR 7, 2013

CAME OUT DULL RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX AND TRIED IT OUT AND THE SERRATED PART HAD LIKE 5 BENT SERRATIONS!!!!!!!!!! DONT BUY THIS, BUYES BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!

5 Best Tool I've Used Cameron - JAN 24, 2013

This machete is just perfect. It's not too big, not too small its just right for carry, packing, and using. Just have to watch for rust as its carbon but a little maintenance doesn't hurt. Holds a good edge and its superior in the bush.

I've been using mine for 2 years now,and I'd highly recommend this and overall very satisfied.

5 Gear Lover Jake Lyerly - DEC 30, 2012

LOVE the machete, my only recommendation would be to shorten up the strap that velcros the knife into the shealth. I modified mine just by tucking in some of the nylon strapping and stitching it up, no I can pull the strap tight against the handle of the blade....even turn it up side down and shake it w/o the machete moving at all! So if that is an easy fix for your boys in china I would say your customers would enjoy a snugger fit. Anyway, this machete ROCKS thank you Gerber. I especially love that you can just use and allen key to take the blade out to replace it with another! Great design Gerber team. Keep up the good work.

5 Great Machete chuck findley - DEC 29, 2012

This is a great tool for clearing brush and branches. It's also very easy to carry. Overall, a great buy!

5 Prospector Stan McLeod - DEC 18, 2012

Absolutely the greatest thing since sliced venison! I use mine every day that I am out in the wild bush country of B.C.'s Slocan and Kootenay Valleys, I use it for clearing trail, making camp and even used it against a black bear who wanted to clean my frying pan.
A good durable tool that all people outin the bush should carry.

3 Gerber fan Brad Pigott - DEC 13, 2012

I bought this 2 weeks ago, and I love it. I have 2 things to say about it though, the blade did bent on the edge when I hit a hard knot, but it was simple to hammer out. My biggest complaint is the sheath! It is terrible. It needs a real belt loop!

5 Great Small Machete Michael Runyan - DEC 6, 2012

I have heard good and bad concerning this machete. After buying several Gerber products this year, and loving all of them, I had to check this out for myself. The grip is incredible! The blade was absolutely razor sharp. I bought with the intent for using as a camp machete, and it has been the perfect tool for me and my family. Great little machete Gerber.

5 lol curtis - NOV 24, 2012

who used this in the walking dead

5 brown micheal - NOV 18, 2012

i love it, some people said it was dull, but mine came razor sharp, and it fits so well into the sheath , it doesn't rattle. its ten inches, which when i opened it, it looked a little big for a jr. overall i love it, now i am equipped for the apocalypse.

4 LOL EJD - NOV 5, 2012

The very second I opened this, I had a smile on my face. I love Gerber machetes and when I saw this I knew I had to grab one.

For $15 locally, how can you go wrong. Mine has the new Gerber logo which I love btw.

A few runs across the Fiskars Axe Sharpener hooked this thing up proper.

The sheath is awesome, and very durable. The machete fits perfect inside it also, does not move at all.

The sawback is crazy sharp and would come in handy in a camp/survival/walker situation...lol.

I chose the JR over it's big brother for the fact that I do alot of backpacking and hiking in the national parks/forrests near my house.

Recommended!

5 Shop Owner Michael Runyan - NOV 5, 2012

I have owned this machete for about a month now. Great small machete! I have put this blade through the paces (chopped down 5" thick trees, cleared large amounts of brush, processed wood, and beat the sh$@ out of it), and it has performed as good if not better than the $100 plus machetes in my collection.

5 Good blade Ar Gunner - OCT 19, 2012

just bought the blade a few hours ago. before testing i sharpened the blade a bit. works great. chops down bushes outside and cuts about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch easily through wood post. A nice ar15 and the gerber should be ready with a few other items for S.H.T.F.

5 Why buy a saw and a machete seperatly? Steele Skull - OCT 14, 2012

Before yall ask, im a teenager so i havent been able to get one but my grandpa( he works in the hunting section in a nearby walmart, which is where i first saw this beautiful thing) grabbed one that was still in its bow, opened it up and let me hold it. It felt light, balanced, and durable. If youre looking for something that lasts, buy this knife

5 Exterminator Smudgehead - SEP 21, 2012

Just purchased gator jr. today, look forward to killing some zombies soon.

5 Perfect for every task it's thrown upon Kjartan Mikalsen - MAY 15, 2012

The blade takes on every task and is very durable. The rubber in the grip gets a little tattered after a while, but problem should not affect it's usage much. The saw cuts through logs in the matter of seconds.
It's big for a knife, and the length of the blade should be used for different tasks. Like the knife used by the sami people in northern Scandinavia, the curved part of the blade should be sharp enough to remove facial hair, and the part closest to the grip should be sufficiently sharp for cutting barbed whire.
These are qualities of an apocalypse survival tool and should be owned by all who wants to survive.

5 paintballer extraordinaire woodsballer - MAR 31, 2012

I have been using this for about a year, it works great clearing trails from 2" branches with a couple of chops to fine grass down low. Get a sharpener, your arm will thank you. I'm sure it's really effective on "Walkers" as well.

4 Your Title wolf 1 - MAR 22, 2012

Just tested while climbing a mountain and trekking through thick brush. Worked fine, especially for the size....could be a bit sharper but that's an easy fix. Perfect size to slide in a rucksack or hang from your waist. Much easier to handle than a larger machete.

5 Just a Guy Jay Cue - DEC 26, 2011

My hunting buddy has one of these and it comes in real handy when we are tracking. I think he is getting tired of me borrowing his, so I ordered one for myself.

5 Outdoors Freddy! - DEC 20, 2011

Got my Gator Jr last week, and have tested it pretty good.
The fact that it is cheap, small, light weight and has a good grip makes all the difference.
Have it at my side at all times.
If you want a sharper blade, sharpen it, but it does it's job as it is.
So if you want a good blade you can clean out some bushes and stuff with, this is your blade. Thanks Gerber!

5 FINALLY jr zombie killer - DEC 18, 2011

i just got mine yesterday it is very dull but im going to sharpn it. A NICE MACHEtE

5 Captain Calvin - NOV 30, 2011

Pretty great little blade. Tested on real zombies - hacks off limbs with no trouble. Heads are a bit harder, though, with the 10 inch blade size. You have to get in pretty close and swing hard. The saw blade side is good for field amputations, but honestly, if the zombie got your leg, you're pretty much done, anyway.

5 Sgt. Sgt. Michael P. Gilliam - NOV 11, 2011

Have hacked trees down with no sweat. Have it so sharp it cuts the hair on my leg. and no I dont shave my legs. I have it on the back of my tactical vest. I love it for when the hogs get to close. Havent used the saw blade. Makes 4 Gerber blades I own now.

5 for the price its a good blade kyle murphy - OCT 31, 2011

for the price its good the blade is good saw is good but remmber it is only 20 bucks its not going to do something like a 50 dollar one could do

5 Fast, tactical, and mean DEAD HEAD - OCT 21, 2011

This was the first blade I ever purchased.. 21 blades later, and it is still my first choice. Decapitation? No problem. Easy on your hands, and over all a great zombie killing tool.

5 Private First Class (Veteran) Danny Lewis - OCT 17, 2011

I just saw This on facebook. My first reaction, "What?! Hey I gotta get it!" No matter what, I'm sure this blade would solve some problems!
